This is very helpful, if you were to release episode 4 it would be of great help to the PoG community. Only Harsh rules covers the game in full right now, having you as well would result in substantial quality coverage. So well explained. I especially like you worked us through this using the actual board and components and didn't fall back on Vassal for this.

Great video Artwolf. This is a good way to learn the rules. Like you, I am studying the rules on a couple of WWI board games. After I play them I want to be able to decide which game replicates history and is most enjoyable, balanced, etc. Thank you for the videos!

Perfect explanation and video again, Ardwulf. I've just started to play my first game of Paths of Glory through Vassal and was struggling with the rules, but your video series came just in time to help me to grasp the rules.
Some small questions:
- can no reduced army or corps advance after winning an attack? I missed this in the explanation, but you stated it in the example
- what do the numbers in the red circles mean next to some spaces?
Some minor remarks:
- you made a small mistake in calling Brussels Amiens
- the joke about you having 0 chance in succeeding the flank attack might be confusing for people who don't get the joke. But I feel your pain. :)
Ard Willems Yeah, I stumbled over that as well. But I think I said it correctly in the video: only full strength units, whether armies or corps, can advance.
The little red numbers by some spaces are the Combat Factor of the fort.

So based on the commentary at 15:21, a 3-3-3 Army takes 6 hits total delivered in complete blocks of 3 to destroy it/reduce it to a Corps?....assuming it is not stacked with any other units? 5 hits would just result in a damaged/flipped Army.
That is correct, but if you CAN apply the excess hits, say to another unit, you must.

Thanks for the tutorial. Imho you speak too fast and should make short pauses because it is pretty dense. Of course we can pause and rewind but still... Great job anyway.
I hear what you're saying and don't disagree, but I also want to keep the length of the video manageable. The next episode will accommodate this a little better.
