Jon, I’ve been watching you since the very beginning, thank you for the amazing videos you’ve given us through the years. Ive watched a lot of fishing channels over the years and by far you have the best content. Tight lines man, hope to meet you one day
Yes, Jon I will agree that was a true googan move forgetting the rods. That aside this was an excellent trip and a sweet day of catching some beautiful trout. Keep on exploring the backwoods there is plenty in Maine.
Beautiful pond, beautiful fish. Brookies and rainbows are my two favorite targets for fishing. Nothing feels like a brook trout when it's hungry and aggressive.
Jon, wanna go somewhere isolated, get at me. We'll bring you to some really secluded secret places. I'll also put you on monster brook trout. 18+ all day long. If you don't want to go with us, I'll tell you this. Head further north and also west. 😁 Tight lines man. Glad to see ya still kicking it in Maine!
Need to see more fly fishing from you Jon. I've got to add a couple of things though? 1- You've GOT to get your casting and playing mindset out of the Bass bracket. You're casting sideways like you'd throw a lure for Bass. Get your rod up vertical when casting, especially if you have the backdrop for it like out on the water or wide open banks behind you? You'll feel exactly when you need to start your forward cast as the fly and line tension better through the vertical? When you're playing the fish, getting your rod vertical will result in you losing less fish, if you play trout sideways and they're acrobatic, they've got more chance of head shaking and spitting your fly. Also, when they get vertical out of the water like a Saturn 5 rocket, drop your rod tip slightly, this will relieve the over-tension and they'll stay on the hook. 2 - Learn to retrieve figure 8 style instead of a straight strip. This will allow you to retrieve slow and steady (useful if you're using a small bait fish fly presentation) or really quickly. You can add a couple of twitches on the line better if you've got it figure 8 bunched in your hand. It'll also help when playing your trout as it gives you something more substantial to hold? Believe me, you'll need it when you hook into a biggun and it decides to take off down the lake. Fly line burn is both painful AND a bitch! Hope this helps? Tight lines!
So gorgeous Jon! I wanna find some of these up in quebec ! So cool to see you fishing my sorta region nowadays. I love to see it, used to be a bass kid but the past few years ive been really into fly fishing. I slay browns but brookies have that elusiveness always. So dope to be able to watch fly fishing content from you Jon keep killing it!
Hey! That's my secret pond! Then you show 8 canoes laying on the shore. lol. Great video. Just found your channel and subbed. I live in southern Maine and am definitely headed north this spring/summer for some of that action. Been way too long.

Don't feel bad. I once forgot to bring my sleeping bag for a week long canoe trip. I didn't realize it until the first night. No stores. Chilly to say the least.
Not a lot of creators I take the time to put the video up on the tv, every video feels like a movie, love it man!

I got two canoes at that landing. Fished that pond dozens of times! 15 feet max depth. 102 acre pond. Native Brook Trout
I got one in there too! I'm in the cove with the spring. Square bear with flex seal on the stern next to a little John boat.

Making me hungry catching those! One of my favorite eating fish.

Need to see more fly fishing from you Jon.

My canoe was smashed there all spring, summer and fall. There were two other options for rods , knifes edge and Katahdin general.

Pescaria no sistema fly deve dar uma boa sensação
B Rollin
Wowza
Very cool Jon boy.
Great video. Any info to share on the transducer (livescope?) mount for the canoe?
Happy Halloween Jon B.
While you’re in Maine you should go hunt grouse with Jesse Rochester (mainly flies, mainely outdoors)

You should do a new hamsphire backcountry video.
new hampshire guy here, you should pop down sometime, some great lakes
the trout will mostly b at the side of the lake where a cold stream runs into the lake and there is an over hang at the edge of the lake
Love the videos man was wondering if you’d ever be interested in filming in Colorado
I think I can guess which pond that was. Green Drakes if you hit it right between June and July. Wildlife everywhere. Thanks for the post.

Canoe sends for the win
I think a bear would be attracted to your stack lol

Try stone house pond in barrington nh. Only fly fishing
Hell of a hike with a view too
Jon you need to come to New Zealalnd and do some trout fishing here and maybe do a colab with some of the trout fishing youtubers here
Idk how you do it but I would flip a canoe just casting 😂
If there is a path that beat down, big enough to drag a canoe without issues, then its being fished alot.
Very nice video
Don't feel bad. I once forgot to bring my sleeping bag for a week long canoe trip. I didn't realize it until the first night. No stores. Chilly to say the least.
Wouldn’t it have been easier to portage carry the canoe than drag it? Ya had the yoke on it!
lets go
Brookies are the most beautiful fish in the world
That's why you should keep fishing rod tackel in the car.
Bro that is NOT how you portage a canoe but you do you man.
What's up bro great stuff as always, where did peric go? He has been Mia for a while ? You guys still keep in touch?
