Happy birthday Jen - got to be Metroid Zero Mission. Played through it on my GBA when my son was a few weeks old back in 2018. He’d doze on me and I’d play on the GBA. It felt like Super Metroid to me, and might well be my favourite in the series to this day.

Happy 35th birthdays jen only 2 years older than me 😅 I just picked up the order recently as well seems scott and I are starting to play similar games more often. All gta games are fun so it depends I guess on how much he cares about the story because I really don't play them for that reason. Vice city has a cool story and a 80s theme. 4 I heard it was underrated and you play as a Russian guy but I haven't played it. 5 it pretty big and the story you get to play as multiple people and it's fun. Always will say sleeping dogs is a must play

Metroid Dread is my favorite of the franchise. Do you have it? If so give it a shot, I was shocked how good it is. On a side note the hair and make-up uwu. Happy early birthday looking good 👍It was joy seeing how happy you were opening your gift, definitely best pick up.

There's nothing to be ashamed about being in our 40s, we're all young at heart! Nice pickups and an amazing gift! Regarding GTA, I would recommend any one of them, but I would say to start with the one that is most relatable to you. If you like any type of mafia movies, 80s vibe, Vice City is the one to go (and still my favorite)! If you like gangster and hip hop / rap scene of the 90s, then San Andreas is your pick! If you want a modern one, then 5 is your choice! But they're all good! Funny enough, I also bought the Triple Pack and just received it! Evoland looks awesome, so I've just added it on my wishlist! And that birthday gift was so amazing! Now, if you're missing one in the set, you've got to get them all, lol! Great video and keep up the good work!

GTA 5 is awesome but that’s to people who like that kind of game, I don’t know if it will win you over but that is the one to try to see if you can get into it, the others were classics in their time but controls haven’t aged that well. I just picked up order 1886 like 2-3 months ago and still need to get to it, damn persona 5 taking my time. I didn’t hear good things about alone in the dark but do let me know how it is . I have that sleeping dogs collection too, yay sleeping dogs !! This is the game I recommend like 3-4 years ago . Sleeping dogs is in my top 5 of all time! Awesome gift !! You could see your pure happiness when you were looking at it ! (Oh look I can make a comment without being a mini novel) lol

Our Switch Collection was supposed to come out and then our laptop decided it couldn't handle it so we had to rush and get this one out a bit sooner than expected. I'm definitely going to give GTA V a go before the new one comes out. I've been told it's more than a beating up ladies of the night game. Alone in the Dark was on sale so that's my kind of deal lol. If you enjoyed sleeping dogs and you now want to try more turn based games, I'm telling ya ..Yakuza 7 and forget the games before it . First turn based Yakuza game, it has a brand new hero so you don't have to catch up and it's story telling and humour is in like with sleeping dogs but this game goes to even more options, you can walk into a sega shop and play some old sega games lol . Sorry I can't help my novella tendencies haha . I do hope you enjoy GTA 5 because as you said, it's fun playing something completely different . I’d honestly say just start with GTA5, just went back and replayed it… it’s so smooth man. The other games have some rough edges, but they’re all fantastic. It’s also not nearly as long as a lot of people make it seem. Prolly about 20 hours if you just wanna see the main story.… but Sleeping Dogs is 🐐 lol Happy 23rd Jen!

I went to a new retro game store grand opening today, well it's the owner's second location, but was looking for the Alone in the Dark game, sadly he didn't have it, but I did pick up 1943 NES, Adventure Island NES & Batman Telltale series for the PS4, it may not have Keven Conroy as Batman, who's my favorite voice actor, sad that he's n9 longer with us, but never the less I watched gameplay and it loos cool

@@RetroRivals Children of Morta isn’t really hard but expect to die a lot. (At least I did.) The dungeons are procedurally generated too so when you die and go back o to the level the layout is completely different. I was playing it solo though so maybe as a co-op play through it may be different. 🤔

You should be really happy in your 40's. I feel this is the age where you are more knowledgeable in most things & you tend to do a lot better beating retro games & also win a lot more in vs games. This is where you are more frugal & a minimalist with your money on what to buy etc. Night shift work though, oooh that's bad. I work morning shifts. It's a lot better because I have the time during the day doing my grocery shopping & play video games now that I went to physical copies for the Nintendo Switch. Gaming has been a lot of fun. I like most of the games you showed in this vid. The Downside when you are in your 40's & older, you tend to have 0 patience with almost everything, & you just want to save more time than anything & doing what it is you want to do with hobbies you have.
Honestly, my 40's have been the best. I can't complain and we don't mind working night shift. The fact that we're both on nights and work at the same place helps tremendously. Working days is not an option where we're at. You have to have MANY years seniority to get that. Still we have the same amount of time thankfully. Everything just gets shifted. Surprisingly though, I have way more patience now in my forties because I don't care about anything that's not worth caring about. I'm way more relaxed. Scott however has less patience for certain types of video games but in every other way is more relaxed too.
I have not played any of the handheld Metroid games. Metroid Dread was a lot of fun. Physical media winning over hearts. Generation Pixel is definitely a scaredy cat. 4 hours a day gaming!!!! If I get 4 hours every 2 weeks I am lucky. The graphics evolve too!!! That is amazing. I do generally stick to the same console for a game series. Such cool figures. Nice new games n stuff!

In the year 2020 i bought a mint condition XBOX 360 copy of Spec Ops The Line brand new at Shoppers for $20. An excellent game you can no longer get because of legal issues. Essentially only available out in the wild.
I think we're one of the only people that got rid of it intentionally know that lol. I told Scott but he said "I'm not gonna play it someone else will want it" and we traded into our local pawn for something else
I think you should play Zero Mission, then (or skip zero) Fusion, then Dread if you want to go 2D route, I think that is a good order story wise (technically its Zero (or NES) , Samus Returns, and then Super, but you played Super first and in this case you are following the 2D release order . If you want to mix up the formula a bit, but still have something familiar play Prime 1.
GTA V has really good and entertaining story and it's definitely worth a playthrough. Order 1886 was also good playthrough. Enjoyed the story. I like short games too. Evoland looks interesting. That's a nice Alice doll! Or figurine or something! Also you popped the bubble wrap wrong! What are you, cavemen over there in Canada?! You pop them one by one you barbarians! Also happy 35th birthday! Or you know, i hope it was happy. I'm bit late.
Bahahaha better late than never. Birthdays when you're "35" become just another day lol 🤣 I'm looking forward to playing The Order 1886 because it'll be a nice palate cleanser. Generation Pixel reported back that Evoland might be his game of the year which is high praise. When and if Scott ever gets through Ninja Gaiden he'll definitely be playing it. I think since I'm almost a grown up it's probably an Alice figure now and not a doll 🤷🏼♀️😂 Next time I pop bubble wrap I'll do it one at a time. Actually I'll make a video of it, just popping the bubble wrap....ONE.....AT......A.....TIME. It'll be riveting!

GTA 5 is the best one out of the GTA games. You basically have a storyline with characters & it changes to each one as you progress through the game. Ah the PC Master digital of gaming. Yeah Physical media is a lot better for a lot of reasons, 1 being you aren't tied into an account. I game on the Nintendo switch now so physical games install within 2 min now instead of 20 min to 3 hours. I went back to physical media now. I tried digital for PS4 for 1 year & I really didn't like it. The PC is great for roms with whatever said controller you buy for the PC. I will say though 1 major thing I don't like about PC is that you always have to configure the controls whenever you play a game. It a lot worse when you play fighting games like Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter 2 You have to memorize all the buttons then configure them. Then you have to make sure to set your pc not to turn off mode because that has happened to me when I played games. With a Console that's dedicated to that specific gaming you don't have to worry about anything, you just plug in a controller, put the game in & play.

San Andreas is by far the best GTA, and the music is banging. I said it exactly like that 😂 I'm such a big girl when it comes to horror games 😂 I commute for two hours a day, which I fill with Switch gameplay, and two hours in the evening is easy. Gamers make the time 😉 Sleeping dogs is on my backlog, I really need to get it off the list. Just Cause 3 is some of the best fun I've had in a video game 👌 Evoland is going on my to get list! That is such a great gift 👌 Scott knocked it out of the park 👏 👏👏

I have been playing GTA since 1999. My favorite is Vice City & second favorite GTA 4. I Do Not Like gta 5 one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I remember seeing the reveal trailer before the game cameout and knew i wasn't going to like it. Rented it for XBOX 360 returned it 2 hours later. In 2021 got a PS4 copy of it for $30 played it for a few days flung it in the trash. GTA 6 huge pass.

There's nothing to be ashamed about being in our 40s, we're all young at heart! Nice pickups and an amazing gift! Regarding GTA, I would recommend any one of them, but I would say to start with the one that is most relatable to you. If you like any type of mafia movies, 80s vibe, Vice City is the one to go (and still my favorite)! If you like gangster and hip hop / rap scene of the 90s, then San Andreas is your pick! If you want a modern one, then 5 is your choice! But they're all good! Funny enough, I also bought the Triple Pack and just received it! Evoland looks awesome, so I've just added it on my wishlist! And that birthday gift was so amazing! Now, if you're missing one in the set, you've got to get them all, lol! Great video and keep up the good work!

I wish Vice City was the newest one. You know I love me the most modern game. Honestly think I would enjoy the '80s vibe. It would probably be a good one to start with considering once I get to 5 then there's probably no going back at that point.

GTA 5 is awesome but that’s to people who like that kind of game, I don’t know if it will win you over but that is the one to try to see if you can get into it, the others were classics in their time but controls haven’t aged that well.
I just picked up order 1886 like 2-3 months ago and still need to get to it, damn persona 5 taking my time.
I didn’t hear good things about alone in the dark but do let me know how it is .
I have that sleeping dogs collection too, yay sleeping dogs !! This is the game I recommend like 3-4 years ago . Sleeping dogs is in my top 5 of all time!

@@loco_Fox Mine is actually closer to the end of the month too. Our Switch Collection was supposed to come out and then our laptop decided it couldn't handle it so we had to rush and get this one out a bit sooner than expected.
I'm definitely going to give GTA V a go before the new one comes out. I've been told it's more than a beating up ladies of the night game.

If you enjoyed sleeping dogs and you now want to try more turn based games, I'm telling ya ..Yakuza 7 and forget the games before it . First turn based Yakuza game, it has a brand new hero so you don't have to catch up and it's story telling and humour is in like with sleeping dogs but this game goes to even more options, you can walk into a sega shop and play some old sega games lol .

@@loco_Fox nope, you're not wrong. That was exactly what happened and they never bothered playing through Evil Within when we reviewed it so I got halfway through Sleeping Dogs got frustrated because they probably weren't going to play it either and cast it aside lol. Like the woman I am! 😁🤣
I’d honestly say just start with GTA5, just went back and replayed it… it’s so smooth man. The other games have some rough edges, but they’re all fantastic. It’s also not nearly as long as a lot of people make it seem. Prolly about 20 hours if you just wanna see the main story.… but Sleeping Dogs is 🐐 lol

I went to a new retro game store grand opening today, well it's the owner's second location, but was looking for the Alone in the Dark game, sadly he didn't have it, but I did pick up 1943 NES, Adventure Island NES & Batman Telltale series for the PS4, it may not have Keven Conroy as Batman, who's my favorite voice actor, sad that he's n9 longer with us, but never the less I watched gameplay and it loos cool

For real though I think you have to be into open world games to really appreciate them. The older 6th gen really set the series off but I couldn’t suggest three to start off because it hasn’t aged as well. I loved Vice City myself. Children of Morta is solid fun. @@RetroRivals Children of Morta isn’t really hard but expect to die a lot. (At least I did.) The dungeons are procedurally generated too so when you die and go back o to the level the layout is completely different. I was playing it solo though so maybe as a co-op play through it may be different. 🤔

You should be really happy in your 40's. I feel this is the age where you are more knowledgeable in most things & you tend to do a lot better beating retro games & also win a lot more in vs games. This is where you are more frugal & a minimalist with your money on what to buy etc. Night shift work though, oooh that's bad. I work morning shifts. It's a lot better because I have the time during the day doing my grocery shopping & play video games now that I went to physical copies for the Nintendo Switch. Gaming has been a lot of fun.
I like most of the games you showed in this vid. The Downside when you are in your 40's & older, you tend to have 0 patience with almost everything, & you just want to save more time than anything & doing what it is you want to do with hobbies you have.
Honestly, my 40's have been the best. I can't complain and we don't mind working night shift. The fact that we're both on nights and work at the same place helps tremendously.
Working days is not an option where we're at. You have to have MANY years seniority to get that. Still we have the same amount of time thankfully. Everything just gets shifted.
Surprisingly though, I have way more patience now in my forties because I don't care about anything that's not worth caring about. I'm way more relaxed. Scott however has less patience for certain types of video games but in every other way is more relaxed too.
I have not played any of the handheld Metroid games. Metroid Dread was a lot of fun. Physical media winning over hearts. Generation Pixel is definitely a scaredy cat. 4 hours a day gaming!!!! If I get 4 hours every 2 weeks I am lucky. The graphics evolve too!!! That is amazing. I do generally stick to the same console for a game series. Such cool figures. Nice new games n stuff!

In the year 2020 i bought a mint condition XBOX 360 copy of Spec Ops The Line brand new at Shoppers for $20. An excellent game you can no longer get because of legal issues. Essentially only available out in the wild.
I think we're one of the only people that got rid of it intentionally know that lol. I told Scott but he said "I'm not gonna play it someone else will want it" and we traded into our local pawn for something else
@@RetroRivals i played it on PlayStation plus before it was removed. It's basically Apocalypse Now except you play as Colonial Kurts.
I think you should play Zero Mission, then (or skip zero) Fusion, then Dread if you want to go 2D route, I think that is a good order story wise (technically its Zero (or NES) , Samus Returns, and then Super, but you played Super first and in this case you are following the 2D release order . If you want to mix up the formula a bit, but still have something familiar play Prime 1.

GTA 5 is the best one out of the GTA games. You basically have a storyline with characters & it changes to each one as you progress through the game.
Ah the PC Master digital of gaming. Yeah Physical media is a lot better for a lot of reasons, 1 being you aren't tied into an account. I game on the Nintendo switch now so physical games install within 2 min now instead of 20 min to 3 hours. I went back to physical media now. I tried digital for PS4 for 1 year & I really didn't like it.
The PC is great for roms with whatever said controller you buy for the PC. I will say though 1 major thing I don't like about PC is that you always have to configure the controls whenever you play a game. It a lot worse when you play fighting games like Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter 2 You have to memorize all the buttons then configure them. Then you have to make sure to set your pc not to turn off mode because that has happened to me when I played games.
With a Console that's dedicated to that specific gaming you don't have to worry about anything, you just plug in a controller, put the game in & play.

I have been playing GTA since 1999. My favorite is Vice City & second favorite GTA 4. I Do Not Like gta 5 one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I remember seeing the reveal trailer before the game cameout and knew i wasn't going to like it. Rented it for XBOX 360 returned it 2 hours later. In 2021 got a PS4 copy of it for $30 played it for a few days flung it in the trash. GTA 6 huge pass.
