What really worries me is the PS6 price lol. I’m hoping that people won’t support the PS5 Pro, so that hopefully Sony gets the message before PS6. I understand it’s still cheaper than a PC, but that argument doesn’t really jive with me, because console manufacturers have always just tried to break even, or sell their consoles at a loss, in order to make it back with software sales, whereas PC part makers obviously don’t have that advantage. Those Canadian prices are bat shit dude… & I love how companies constantly justify their greed by blaming inflation, as if inflation isn’t impacting the every day average consumer more than it is a billion dollar corporation lol.
It's greedflation. The whole world are own by corporations. They have established to own almost everything. The government can't do a single thing because politicians are being bribe by them. Some politicians fight for us common folks but are losing badly. House, utilities, insurance, food, entertainment, medicine, and etc. All under the umbrella of banks and corporation.
Totally agree with everything you just said! If they are asking $700 (or $949 cad) what are we left to believe the PS6 will cost. Make me hella nervous. Don't you worry, PS5 will make their record profits and pat themselves on the back as they do it!
Yeah! That's so true. We had to use grocery store points to buy groceries and use the grocery money to buy it initially. No they want more AGAIN?! Nope 👎
I'm in Europe. 800 for a console without a drive or a freaking stand is ridiculous. Here you can get a 2tb series X with drive for 650 and yes it can stand lol. As some have already pointed out, the crazy thing is the price of the PS6 if it even happens. For sure it will cost more than this. PRO isn't even that much of an upgrade.
What will happen is people won’t own multiple consoles anymore. You will either have just a PS5, Xbox, Switch, or PC. Gone are the days of multiple consoles.
Consoles are heading and closing the gap to PC. It's whether you are ready to jump forward or stay behind. Inevitable, everyone will be on PC landing. I have been moving to PC half a year ago. My heyday in Gaming. 1980s-2003 are console. (Little bit of pc ex Doom) 2002-2008 PC (little bit of console) 2008-mid2024 console 2024 PC and a bit of console.
I truly believe this. Xbox already moved themselves out of the way and Nintendo is offering something completely different than Sony does. It's a weird era of gaming.
@@robertharper3114 honestly if it wasn't for the fact that Scott and I were working two jobs for the last 3-4 years we wouldn't have been able to afford this collection. I get it completely
I was glad this happened honestly, soon i saw the sale go up PS4 pro consoles flooded the market and i bought one for $100 with 1 remote a headset and 16 games. This was my opportunity to try out a PlayStation since my entire household uses xbox one x.
That's awesome! Honestly I'd love to add a 2nd PS4 to our house. It's my favorite modern console and you're going to love it at a much cheaper price than the PS5 which basically doesn't offer all that much more. Congrats
I'm pretty sure going forward for the next generation I'll be buying the next Nintendo console and using my PC for all other games. If we are going to be pushed to go digital, there's no need for a stand alone console anymore. I can do way more with my PC than I ever will with an Xbox or PlayStation, like use it for work and video editing. Being able to play games on it is a bonus. It doesn't make sense needing to drop that much money on the latest incrementally upgraded entertainment machine. I have a hard time believing Sony thought it was a good idea.
I absolutely right there with ya. I have to have a gaming PC for editing anyways, I might as well be gaming on it. I am just appalled that Sony has the audacity to try to justify their pricing. It would have been frustrating if it were the PS6 BUT this is a mid gen pro version....it's insane!
I have a mid tier PC for 5 years now and still runs everything solid no issues. Companies think they can just raise prices and add no value because of the brand image.
@@konstantinpospelov951 oh it's absolutely a brand thing for sure. I'm in the same boat with the PC. I don't currently game on it but it's looking more and more appealing for those purposes everyday!
I was waiting for the PS5 slim to go at least $400. That's also too expensive. I don't understand Sony. They barely have games this generation & they want to make everything expensive. I'm just sticking with the Nintendo Switch. They have the 1st party titles & the same 3rd party titles on the PS4, PS5 which are also on the switch. Also you put the physical cart in & it loads within secs. You are already playing a game. So this is what's going to happen. People are just going to buy Nintendo. When Sony sees that as a threat they'll lower their prices of their consoles to sell more.
Yep, they are giving us very little and asking for a lot in return. It's so frustrating when we just want everyone to be able to play. I hope Sony sees Nintendo as a threat but because the offer a bit different of a product with exclusives it's not really the same. We needed Xbox to do a better job but they are on their own wayward journey!
Sony have j dominated Xbox in the last 2 generations and it feels like they want to follow Xbox into the digital only era.... absolutely bonkers. Sony make their own Blu-ray drives.....are they going to start selling blu ray players with an optional drive🤦 There has been a resurgence in people buying physical movies and music so these console manufacturers have kept their blinkers on with the digital thing.....arseholes.
Pc in the beginning have disc drive. They slowly move away from disc drive. (I still have pre mid 2000 computer disc games). There was an option to get a disc drive but it slowly went away by 2010. My Window Vista Gaming PC (2008) have a disc drive. Presently all PC have no disc drive. I do see many people are buying up dvd and blu ray movies lately. It's due to 3 reasons. Streaming companies are delisting movies. Getting old rerun are getting limited. Companies that does production of dvd and blu ray are closing up shop. So in the end, the physical movie dvd/blu ray will be highly sought after. I almost gave it away to half price book and goodwill. My wife told me to do it but I refuse. Ex. Getting Macross 2 dvd is over $50 now. My friend told me his Ninja Scroll Blu ray is worth over $400.
BAHAHAHA nothing would surprise me with Sony, if they thought they could do that with their bluray players, they would! You're absolutely right, physical movies and music is seeing a big resurgence. I don't know why they keep trying to push digital. It feels like owning nothing. I don't buy stars in the sky or a strip of highway, that's what buying digital feels like!
A lot of people don't even think the regular PS5 was worth it. So it's no shock that people aren't excited about PS5 Pro. You're getting the same bundle of disappointment and Sony wants $700? No thank you.
@@matthewhardwick8208 straight facts! Like sheep we bought into the PS5 day one but I think we were living off the hype of being new to TH-cam and thinking we should get a console day one to stay relevant and honestly it doesn't hold a candle to what the PS4 did at launch. 4 years into its life cycle and we still don't have games exclusive to the console... Well not many anyways.
PC is looking good nowadays. Open up to more potentials. Like Bruce Lee saying, " Be like Water, go with the flow." "When the gods close the door, one should open a different door path." Don't enclose your potential with just 1 path but to have an open mind. You guys own several systems and should have known that it is inevitable to happen. Just vote with your wallet and they will get the message.
The stand should have come with the system. The Controller should be a Dual sense Pro, The disc drive should be included, and Sony should make peace with the idea that no one has made a profit on console sales in decades. The Word Pro insinuates this is the best version of the console with all the bells and whistles, not something that is stripped down to the bare minimum. Sony always gets a big head after being successful. As an example, after the PS2 they PS3 release price was outrageous.
YUP! You're 100% right on each and every point! We should have expected it with Sony like you said if you take the history of the PS3 into consideration. There's no competition anymore and that's concerning for what that means for PS6 prices too! What do they take out next? The controller?
You can subtract the headhphone. I use 3rd party headphone worth $40 US and it's being use for ps4, ps5. Xbox one and pc. I have been immigrating to PC because of the prices of consoles, games price, digital on stuck on specific devices (not transferable) and the pay to play online. Steam games can be used on so many devices and not stuck to a specific console. Ex. Zelda Ocarina of Time on N64, GC, Wii, DS/3DS, Wii U. Each are sold separately.
You're absolutely right. We just did all Sony branded stuff just to show and compare that because once we go third party then where does that stop. This was just more even pricing for the comparison sake. Yeah I honestly think with this digital push, PC is the way to go.
Thanks to Sony I bought my first Laptop PC and next I'll be building my own PC. Nothing motivates me more than a company who loses the plot. Goodbye Sony, this is how you lose your player base. It's not that I can't afford it, it's about what is fair, it's the principal.
@@spacemarine8289 thank you for pointing out that it's not just about affordability. It's about what's fair and justifiable. My biggest concern is that I think everyone should be able to play and without a worthy competitor they can just keep ramping up the price at will.
Not much of a value proposition here as It’s a lot of cash upfront for not much of an upgrade. I personally wouldn’t bother, as I'm quite happy with what I already have. 😎
I couldn't agree more. If anything I'm hoping that means PS4 prices and PS5 first edition models will slip in price. No need to spend THAT much when the PS4 pro can still basically play almost any game Sony has released since the PS5 came out.
You are correct! Honestly, I just didn't realize the Canadian dollar had receded that much. I thought we were closer to the $0.80 mark on the dollar but it's closer to $0.73. OUCH!
It freaks me out that the disc drives are selling out already... because if this console does well then this is the future of pricing. If they go digital only then its not my problem anymore anyway. I know the disc drive sales do not mean good console sales but i hope its not a sign.
Yeah it's all around just an absolute farce! I honestly think the PS6 will be over a $1000 at launch without the disc drive or they will toe that line and make it $999.99. Greedy I tell ya!
@@samanthaazira It will sell well but nowhere as much as the base. It’s meant as an option for those who want better on their console and of course who can afford it. When the PS6 launches they will have the pricer lower because they need as many gamers to adopt the new machine. Of course if they do a PS6 Pro later it’ll probably be $150 more than the base PS6 price.
What a shock look at how many ladies think that average income is over $100k a year. Found many videos showing it on youtube and other places. So if the feel that the average guy makes that than spending a $1,000.00 on a PS5 pro is reasonable
As a woman, I have absolutely no problem saying that the modern-day woman is crazy! I'll just go ahead and get accosted in the comments. Oh wait, we don't have a lot of female viewers 🤣 Yeah, we share the expense of everything in our household and make pretty much the same amount of money (for a long period of time I made more cuz I was a business owner.) Can't justify this purchase when we have so much already gaming wise and this adds nothing of value for us personally.
Looks like I’m in the minority here, cause I can’t wait to get one! Few takeaways: - System isn’t meant for general public - built for enthusiasts and hardcore gamers - building a pc with the same specs will run you probably 1.5x the price of the pro. - PSSR will apparently improve the entire ps4 and 5 library graphically. - No disc drive means they kept the price down, with the drive would’ve been another $50-100 on top of the current price. - Sony doesn’t expect to sell this like the base system, probably 10-15% of the ps5 sales are expected. - 2 TB SSD will help a lot with holding more than 4-5 games on your system, especially if being digital only. Overall, I plan on getting the system day 1 (very grateful that I have the income to afford it). I just wish more people would look past the price and wait until more info/state of play is released before making an opinion.
I would absolutely never judge anyone that wants it and I'm am sincerely happy you're excited for it and can justify it. All your points sound well thought out and make sense for you. I just don't think it's affordable for the average consumer and you're right, it's probably not for the average consumer. With their being less options though(Xbox has effectively taking themselves out of the equations and Nintendo is offering a different experience) it just feels like an advantageous situation for Sony and less so for the masses that want to continue to play but simply can't afford it. Consoles have always taken a loss in support of making up the difference in software sales and still deeply profiting. This feels like asking too much. Just my opinion.
@@RetroRivals oh yes, Sony is definitely playing their monopoly card in the console space, but I don’t think it’s as outrageous as people make it out to seem
I honestly didn't realize our dollar was that low. Should have done better research on that end BUT we also get taxes far worse than the US and any other province in Canada.
People in US think they have it bad with this price. In the UK we need to pay £699 which converts to $1050 USD. The disc drive here is £99 and this converts to $130 USD
The pro is not needed, so soon. We just got the slim, and the ps5 from 2020 promised what the pro is, and we did not get it. The ps5 is great, like it is. I have a switch, and Xbox one S, and my ps3 on the same tv. This reminds me of the ps3, at launch, was expensive, and had no big games. I got the slim, and started playing ratchet, uncharted, sly cooper collection, and more, still play them. A pro is just a word on the box, to make you spend money. Games are games, good or bad, I play the ones I like, from disc
@@johnpameh6748 yep, couldn't have said it better myself. They add that pro on the console and expect that they can charge. That much more is ridiculous. Yeah, there's no need for those prices and hopefully at Christmas you can get a regular PS5 at a reduced price. That's probably the smartest thing to do at this point rather than buying the PS5 No.
This is the reason why I like your videos. You two take into consideration the perspective of the average consumer. I was not impressed with the PS5 sold it put a 4TB SSD in my Glacier White PS4 PRO. Then the PS5 slim was released it has a detachable disc drive that was a Huge red flag. My thought was the pro was going to be even worse. So i bought a second OG PS5 just in case left it in the box because atleast using it didn't have a Internet requirement for the disc drive. I hate being right the PS5 pro is massively huge fck up. If the PS6 mirrors this then i stop at playing anything released after the OG PS5 and consider me a retro gamer.
Everything you said is so on point! I haven't seen the value out of our PS5 and it makes me nervous for what PS6 will have to offer and what that will mean price wise. It's look more and more like a no for us in regards to next gen
Scalpers are buying stands and detachable disc drives. So who ever buys the so-called pro and want either of those 2 things luck will be giving them the finger.
I saw a different video of someone who is from Australia the price just for the console itself was around 1,300 bucks. If I remember correctly the price of the disk drive was 120 bucks. My big question is all the games that Sony showed off were really old games. Can the new games really show off those graphics? I would never pay that much money for a console. I don’t see much of a difference. This is a big thumbs down 👎.
That's absolute madness! And yep, we're in the same boat. I'm not really swayed by slightly better graphics and slightly better load times. Maybe I'm wrong and it's going to be so much more BUT over $200.00 more minus a disc drive.....fat chance!
@@RetroRivals I hundred percent agree with you. Like who has over a thousand dollars to just flop down especially if you already have the console. It makes no sense.

With the announcement of the remastering of Horizon's Zero Dawn, Sony's providing you the opportunity to buy a remastered game for their remastered console. This has become their new meta since the lack of first party exclusive that were marketed to entice gamers to upgrade to the newer system. Sony's creative talents seem to have dried up, Concord cost them millions, so I'm guessing the higher cost of the PS5 Pro will be used to offset their loss and the PS5 ponies are looked to to recoup some of their lost revenue. There are a bunch of fanboys singing the praises of this new console. One person even made the bold claim that the console would be more powerful than the Nvidia 4090, a $700 console beating a $1600 GPU? As an AMD fanboy, their tech trails behind Nvidia when it comes to ray tracing and DLSS, so I don't know where this guy got his information about the chip powering the Pro will be more powerful than a 4090 while costing less. I'm okay with what anybody decides they want to do as far as the PS5 pro because at the end of the day it's not my wallet. It's not my decision. Don't go and spread misinformation though based on trying to suckle at the Sony teet. It's deplorable!
I would never be mad about that. I just wish Xbox wouldn't have screwed themselves so much that they could be actual competition for Sony. As much as I love Nintendo, they just don't offer the exact same experience and while they're a huge competitor, they don't compete in the exact same market. As for PC, I've got a gaming desktop and at this point it's looking a lot more appealing than just for video editing.
Majority of the companies are still on ps4 format. They are not ready to push to the ps5. Here is a catch. Nintendo can really make a killer move when Sony is at it's weak point which is the price tag of said system. For the new Switch 2.0, if they can offer ps4 graphic and power, that would move many companies to their side. Most of us are still okay with whatever Ps4 got to offer. When ps4 was announce, Sony wants to accommodate with the developers and consumers. With the ps5 pro, reminiscing N64, Sony alienate the consumer. With no buyers, developers goes somewhere else which is Nintendo. Having a powerful system, it does not often win. Just look at history of video games where powerful machine are left to dry. For me, ps2 graphic and capabilities are my ooh and aah from block moving Atari 2600. Afterward, it's meh. Im not into it now. Now, it's mostly for game, fun, and story.
I own a PS4 Pro and I love it. I was looking forward to buying the PS5 Pro I knew they were coming out with one eventually... and they made this announcement I was like nope not doing it not buying it nope .I'll just stick with my PS4 Pro. And now I'm not going to even buy a PS5 I mean they didn't put in the drive because they're not going to sell a PS5 Pro with a driver built in because they're going digital All Digital. I'm a collector I have tons of games PS2 games PS1 games and my PS4 games. I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here cuz I'm 44 and probably don't understand the vernacular 🤣 but if you're thinking the thumbnail is for click bait, it's not. The disc drives are completely sold out and scalpers are asking ridiculous prices on eBay. The PRO is so overpriced for what they are asking, that's a HUGE Problem. Thanks for your insight, sport.
Oh yeah, totally ridiculous. But hey, gamers should just follow the advice for resellers who have totally, ahem, "not" ruined the retro markets and "not buy it." That's worked so well, right? Also, I won't be surprised if it finds a market as despite what people claim, I hear what folks spend on gifts, trips, and the like and they always find funds for the stuff they want, so a lot of this YT shock is all show. Mark my words and wait for the videos to drop of those who bought it "just to see if it's worth it."
Oh 100%! I'm already noticing back pedaling and some Tubers taking the opposite stand point. Some probably actually want it and others are doing it for controversial clickbait views. Either way, we WON'T be getting it. Gaming is becoming NOT for the average consumer.
I skipped ps3, and ps4, but bought a ps4 pro so I could play dead or alive 6. Likewise, I bought a ps5 (2 years in) so I could play Hogwarts Legacy. I don't yet know if there will be a game I want so bad it compels me to buy the ps5 pro.
@@ByteMeCompletely I'm honestly not sure what the PS5 pro is offering that would make buying it necessary. I guess we'll have to wait to see what consumers think and if it makes that great of a difference. I know for us it's a no. I'm not sure how much better we need the graphics. Can our current TV even handle it anyways?
@RetroRivals I still do not have a ps5 and I was planning on waiting until the pro comes out to buy one, but I guess I'll be waiting longer if they decide to drop the price!
A few people in our gaming community were asking our opinion. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to make a response immediately. This is not our job but a hobby and we really appreciate and respect the people that watch. It sounds like you've been inundated with this topic. Next time if we cover something late it's perfectly fine to just skip it if it's not for you but it might be for someone else. It's all good 👍
@@aideyl9626 Honestly, I have no idea what kind of controller comes with. I haven't heard anything about a new controller, but that's because everyone's been so focused on the fact that it has no disk drive, no stand and a huge price tag.
Wow, I wonder why your 3 time's more expensive than the US, 1 question I gotta ask, is how much is it gonna cost Sony to Send the PS5 pros to Canada, cause I do believe when stuff gets shipped over to other countries, it tends to cost more, I wonder if its the same for Canada, but really that is a horrible price tag for Canadians to pay for the PS5 Pro
Someone else mentioned it's on par with US pricing and while that might be the case, the tax rates make it more. We're 15% taxes here in NB as opposed to the median rate of 8.04% in the US. It's still more. It sucks!
@@EvilMyers Yeah and the taxes on wages, once it's all said and done between union dues and such, I lose about 40%. Now you want another 15%? Why do I live here lol
The only thing we partake in is alcohol and we brew our own beer and maybe have one or two on the weekend. We don't eat takeout almost ever and we buy almost exclusively second hand clothing. We don't take yearly vacations AND it's still not justifiable. Affordability is a concern too but not the only one. I don't know where you're from but we're heavily taxed here in Moncton NB and it's the poorest province in Canada. I'm happy for you that it's attainable but not everyone's situation is the same. You paint with a pretty broad brush stroke and take a holier than thou position. That look doesn't look good on anyone.
Your first mistake is you live in Canada. Your second mistake is that for some reason you believe the ps5 pro should be made for the average consumer. No that’s what the ps5 is for. They don’t make the pro so every broke Canadian can afford it with the change they find in there couch. And judging by your appearance you eat fast food allot more then you admit. You don’t get those frumpy lumpy bodies by under consuming.
That's absolutely what they should have done. That's what they've always done is take a loss on the console and make up the difference in game sales. Sounds like Sony got greedy because they don't have Xbox for competition anymore.
Trying to accommodate ps4 owners has seriously damaged the ps5. HOPEFULLY they'll start making more games that ONLY run on a PS5 now or literally nobody will buy a PS6.
@@Chris-Courage Lol, thanks. He doesn't wear it often because he really really likes it and it's the only one punch man shirt he has. Trying to make it last

Sony is a joke and I'll stick with my OG PS5 with built in disc drive and stand, you can upgrade your background grass for an additional $300.00 if you wanna be a sucker, I'll buy a backup PS5 or PS5 slim before this garbage
Honestly, we've been thinking about doing that ourselves as well. Ideally we would get a PS4 pro since realistically that library is much bigger and exclusive but finding one brand new in the box is like finding a needle in a haystack at this point.
I spend money like it's on fire...
And never have a seen a product that offers absolutely nothing for me....
SAME! I'm not sure what half those upgrades are but I understand numbers in a row and what they mean and that's WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!
I can't even afford the NORMAL PS5 so 300 MORE FOR THE PRO version is out of the question.
Yeah! That's so true. We had to use grocery store points to buy groceries and use the grocery money to buy it initially. No they want more AGAIN?! Nope 👎
Agree I brought the 4 slim with a game for £230 in 2016 😂 there was a discount on Sony for them in July
YUP! That's the big concern. This is a mid gen pro edition, what does that say about the future PS6 price. It's NOT good!
(Little bit of pc ex Doom)
2002-2008 PC (little bit of console)
2008-mid2024 console
2024 PC and a bit of console.
I truly believe this. Xbox already moved themselves out of the way and Nintendo is offering something completely different than Sony does. It's a weird era of gaming.
@tr1bes There is no way the majority of casuals will go PC.
After all the top dog, Nintendo hasn't even released a digital only brick.
I never could afford multiple consoles. The PS5 Pro is just a NO BUY for me dawg!!
I think a lot of people bought the drives up. There are probably less in general but I’ve already seen people posting that they ordered one.
That disc drive is the Elmo of 2024 for big kids lol
@@RetroRivals lol.
Sony have j dominated Xbox in the last 2 generations and it feels like they want to follow Xbox into the digital only era.... absolutely bonkers.
Sony make their own Blu-ray drives.....are they going to start selling blu ray players with an optional drive🤦
There has been a resurgence in people buying physical movies and music so these console manufacturers have kept their blinkers on with the digital thing.....arseholes.
Like Bruce Lee saying, " Be like Water, go with the flow."
"When the gods close the door, one should open a different door path."
Don't enclose your potential with just 1 path but to have an open mind. You guys own several systems and should have known that it is inevitable to happen. Just vote with your wallet and they will get the message.
Absolutely Tr1bes. I couldn't have said it better myself!
They recently raised the ps5 controller prices.
Yeah, that's insane! No need for that at all especially 4 years into the life cycle.
You’re wrong the conversion rate is exactly correct for US to CAD.
You are correct! Honestly, I just didn't realize the Canadian dollar had receded that much. I thought we were closer to the $0.80 mark on the dollar but it's closer to $0.73. OUCH!
I rather take all that money and go buy myself a retro gaming grail for my collection
Absolutely!
Was holding out for the PS5 pro, but after that price tag I’m staying with my PC for now. I’ll just have to wait for FFVII rebirth to come to steam.
Honestly you're better off. That price tag is NUTS!

Yeah, we share the expense of everything in our household and make pretty much the same amount of money (for a long period of time I made more cuz I was a business owner.)
Can't justify this purchase when we have so much already gaming wise and this adds nothing of value for us personally.
Looks like I’m in the minority here, cause I can’t wait to get one!
Few takeaways:
- System isn’t meant for general public
- built for enthusiasts and hardcore gamers
- building a pc with the same specs will run you probably 1.5x the price of the pro.

IDK what conversion you used but Sony is right on the conversion.
29.99 usd is actually $40.75
You do not need a second controller and even if you do who doesn't have 2 controllers 4 years into the ps5 life span? again who doesn't have a head set 4 years in? also technically you don't since there is a mic on the controller itself..
79.99 usd is actually 108.99 in cad.
a subscription is also optional
@@chickenwings6172 Yes, I realized all that is true. Having went and checked some of the conversions after another person pointed it out. I didn't realize our dollar was actually that low so that's on me.
As far as not having some of that stuff 4 years into the life cycle, That's not the case for everyone because a lot of people were waiting to get the pro instead only to be slapped with such a huge price tag. And we did mention in our video that not everybody would need all the things we talked about but that price would vary based on your needs or wants.
I got the Xbox Series X because it was the most powerful and not too many of the Sony exclusive stuff excited me. I might just have to get a PS5 Pro!
Yeah, we got both at launch and unfortunately haven't been to thrilled with either. I wish it weren't the case : (
We have to pay around 10000kr, roughly $1000 here in Norway for the PS5 Pro including the disc drive. But i know i will be forking out the cash when it comes out, my excuse..i bought this new 77" OLED, i need something special to take advantage of the tv. I don't think my better half will agree with me though 😂
That's ALOT! I get it though. Honestly at the end of the day it's a hell no for us but I would never judge anyone that wants it. I just feel terrible that Sony is gouging it's fan base to only turn around and make record profits. I hope you enjoy it, I wish the buy in wasn't as hefty for ya :(
At Walmart in Canada right now the PS5 slim with detachable disc drive $649. Pro mean no.
Yeah that's madness. Can't ask us to pay that much more for such little value added.
@@RetroRivals Madness. This. Is. SONY !!!
Pro means Yes!
@@28_Spokes not in reference to PS5.
My scouter is telling me his delusion level is over 9000.
@@Phanbot01 Nothing but facts and I love it! The Fanboys that are touting it really make me sick. It's cool if you're someone that wants to get it because you can afford it and decide it's for you but trying to convince everybody else that they are wrong is insanity. I'm okay with what anybody decides they want to do as far as the PS5 pro because at the end of the day it's not my wallet. It's not my decision. Don't go and spread misinformation though based on trying to suckle at the Sony teet. It's deplorable!
Team PC and Nintendo. Please get mad. Cry me a river lol
Absolutely correct in every way Tr1bes!
Sony go to hell on the price PlayStation five . Bad business. Model.
@@TheDexter50 Even more concerning is that if people do buy and accept this price then what will they price the ps6 at??
I own a PS4 Pro and I love it. I was looking forward to buying the PS5 Pro I knew they were coming out with one eventually... and they made this announcement I was like nope not doing it not buying it nope .I'll just stick with my PS4 Pro. And now I'm not going to even buy a PS5 I mean they didn't put in the drive because they're not going to sell a PS5 Pro with a driver built in because they're going digital All Digital. I'm a collector I have tons of games PS2 games PS1 games and my PS4 games. I didn't game back when PS3 was out... and I have a very nice collection I do own some digital games on my PS4 Pro and it's because they're only available in digital format. But Sony has definitely flipped their lid.
@@eddiewitter1264 yeah, Sony is definitely off the rocker with this decision. The idea of completely eliminating the disk drive and making it separate is not a good sign. I like that they're still making it an option but you can't even get them because they're all sold out.
I think the only thing that would have saved this pro launch would have been complete backwards compatibility. Otherwise, yes, you're absolutely right most of us have a backlog of physical games that it might just make sense to wait until the ps6 or why get one at all for that matter.
I'm sticking to my PS5 30 frames rates never bothered me that an I don't have a 4k TV one day lol. so ill wait for the PS6
Yeah, that's exactly what Scott was saying to me a few days ago. How much is the PS5 Pro really gonna cost if you need a new SONY TV (LOL) just to really see the improvements
I just wanna change my tv current one is old and close to dying
I'm happy with my ps5 Its brand new Its still powerful and can run games without any problems
Its about being satisfied with what you have and I am
Been playing playstation since I was little kid even my ps2 was from my first salary
But the way sony wants to fool people is just unacceptable
Plus the way they showed downgraded gameplay just to make ps5 pro look good
And put trash on the base ps5 is shity on sony's behalf
@@The--Ghostspider66 absolutely!! At this point I have no idea what they're really offering that makes a PS5 pro necessary compared to the PS5?! I think you're absolutely right and that putting the money towards a TV rather than that is a much better allocation of funds.
It'll all be digital eventually. Unfortunately we have to admit that physical games will be gone by next gen
I honestly don't know that. Physical movies and music are making a tremendous come back.
@RetroRivals only time will tell I guess. Sony are certainly trying to force it to be a thing of the past. I'm getting a ps5 pro but only because I don't have a ps5 yet and I don't want a disc drive tbh. The price is only a couple more hundred dollars more than a slim here in Australia.
@@Luyo20 totally support that. At the end of the day we're all going to have different needs and wants and if it works for you I would never judge you. Happy for you that it's something worth the investment. I just really wish you didn't have to pay as much.
Oh, stop whining about $700. Everything is more expensive around the globe, thanks to the Potato in the White House.
Lol oh trust me I whine about the cost of everything. Also we don't live in the potato nation, we live in the country up above run by a Disney prince with feces for brains :)
I will just keep my PS5 to play PS4 games and my only 5 PS5 games…no need to upgrade to pro to play last of us remastered for the 3rd remaster lol…I’m old as dirt, near death, age 53, I won’t be playing games much longer, I’m done buying systems. Xbox series X and PS5 is sweet, I like a disk drive. Old school…
CharlieB, had to make new channel, I’m the guy who reminds you to play Grandia 2 and loved survival horror lol
@@CharleB-sabres Hey, now 53 is young and you have many gaming years ahead of you. As far as not buying any more systems, I think we would all be fine with what we have at this point. Everything now is a want more than a need and I don't see the new for the pro either.
Yeah, I assumed it was you :) Happy to see ya back 😊
The fat ps5 will be the most popular version secondhand.
I don't think you're wrong. I think enough people will buy the new pro version, but the likelihood they'll keep both because of the cost is low. If that gets more gamers into the hobby at a more affordable price then that might be a win.

Lol try being in Australia! 1200 dollars just for the console!!! Price is absolutely silly. No one here is buying it 😂
Aye indeed 😂
DUDE! I know. That's insanity!
Sony has to make that Concord money back somehow 🤣

Does it come with the updated PS5 controller with the better battery though ? 🤔
@@aideyl9626 Honestly, I have no idea what kind of controller comes with. I haven't heard anything about a new controller, but that's because everyone's been so focused on the fact that it has no disk drive, no stand and a huge price tag.

I just bought a 12 ft controller cord for $4 and never worry about battery life.
It sucks!
@@RetroRivals, oh wow, 15% is a lot, I had no idea
