How ironic! I just cut up a bunch of colored pencils to cast a pendant blank block and to use for earrings also! Your pendant turned out nice! 👍

Very cool. I have a big blank of coloured pencils that didn't quite make the mark for the project I had been making, but I could see them being useful for a project like this! Thanks for sharing.

Darryl, watched you during the live cast and found your demo to be the most informative. Love the detail with your voiceover. Subscribed!

That was a fun project, Darryl. The effect colors pencil blanks give off is incredible.

That finish is flawless. It looks great. I am in Europe so should be able to get away with the metric 10 coats rather than 12. 😀

Great to see you back on TH-cam man! I’ve gotta talk to you sometime about CA finish! I’m surprised the CA didn’t make the pendant stick to the soft jaws.

Awesome video! I have a couple artists in the family and this pendant would make a great gift for them this Christmas! What did you use to adhere the pencils together?

Hi Darryl, Great looking pendant. What resin did you use to make the block and is the resin the reason the coloured leads didn't bleed when turning and sanding. Take care. Cheers, Huw

Thanks for the video. I just made a pendant last night but I was not happy with the way the pencils smeared so I hopped on goog/youtube to see if I can figure out why I can't get rid of the smear lines. You don't seem to have any problems with your colors smearing. I wounder if the pencil brand/ quality matters? Any ideas?

Use thin CA after shaping, soak the entire pendant then sand. Whenever you see the color starting to stain clean it off and reapply the CA. This also strengthens the bond between the pencils significantly. Hope this helps! I would love to see what you come up with, please tag me if you post it.

hop down to your local harbor fright and get a set of center drills (or amazon) they are a very short 2 flute drill bit connected to a fat shaft made specifically to start a divot without deflecting, the horrid fart set is like 7 bucks for 5 bits and 10 sizes (2 ended) well worth the "well I got a domed surface and a 1/8th inch jobber drill bit, hope it doesnt deflect a lot" insurance
