  • In this mostly ASMR video (there is a brief voiceover intro and outro), I go through my process of turning, texturing, and coloring a spinning top using Robert Sorby Tools. I found this video so relaxing that I thought I would post it without a voice over. I hope that you also find it soothing as well. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see more content like this in the future. I also posted a sped up version of this video on Instagram and TikTok.

Nice one Daryl! Great project, and the coloring and texturing was just phenomenal!
I’ve been wanting a texturing tool for a long time now. I just need to bite the bullet and get one. This video definitely was inspiration!

I think if you had whispered the voice over at the beginnings you would have nailed the ASMR. 🤣

Great job - what type of markers are you using? I tried sharpies but it ruined the tips (only spinning at 100-200 RPM).
Also, what speed do you use the texturing tool at?
    Thanks
    T

Thanks for watching! I am using Sharpie markers, I point the tips down and use the side of the tips to help make them last. Lathe speed is around 500rpm.

Thank you. On occasion, I will add a few drops of light oil. I do not find that the brass is wearing away. I have used these tools a lot over the course of the last two years.
