Can you imagine how nice those statues of The Seven must have been?! The ones Stannis burned. They were commissioned by Aegon The Conqueror after he was formally anointed king in Oldtown.
Unpopular opinion....but this is why I am one of the minority of fans that doesn't like Stannis....People call him Stannis the Mannis but all his wins were handed to him by Grrm through the Red priestess. Even Daenerys who had to take a leap of faith by walking into Drogo's Pyre (if wrong she would have burnt alive) and that got her 3 baby dragons....she didn't get fully grown dragons....so, she had to be more creative about how to use them. Stannis got one of the strongest mages in the asoiaf world right from the start who just took care of killing Renly and the steward for him thus basically handing him the Storm Lands.
Not supporting Stannis, opinion rejected. If we supported Stannis for his military expertise... well we really don't. He is a good leader, stead fast and unchanging for justice. He could have let Joffery take the throne without war, but it was his duty, if he wants it or not, it is his. He didn't have to go to the North to help the Nights Watch, but he did because he is the king who cares. “I was trying to win the throne to save the kingdom, when I should have been trying to save the kingdom to win the throne.” Any other king would be terrible. Renely would set a reference that would destroy lines of sucession laws, Balon...., Joffery is a bastard and has shown to be unstable, Robb is a good commander however that's about it, Stannis a leader that puts others before himself. No other king was any good. Honestly wish he would be king, but it is going to Bran. Unfortunately
Right, besides which, he is stiff and uncompromising except for with our favorite Dark Sorceress who thinks she is working for the Truth and the Light and slowly getting him to lose his moral compass in exchange for power. And he empowers a CULT he does not believe in. With not hubris but DUTY gone wrong, Stannis's bravery will not balance his evil deeds.
9:59 correction Stannis is perfect and everyone else is flawed. Stannis is the stag that was promised, people going on about Dany and Jon are fools, Young Griff is the Robert E Lee of Westeros and will defeat Dany so it doesn't look like GRRM is copy and pasting history and thats if Dany does not just shit herself to death. Jon is dead and never coming back, Stannis is Azor Ahai and will save the realm become the next Nights King marry an Other to prevent their invasion then take his rightful throne. He will then name the undead Crasters as his Warden of the West and rename Casterly Rock to Crasterly Rock. Trust me Im right.
Nope. He won't ever change his mind on his decisions or admit error. Not even to Davos very often. He started out moral but is losing his morality bit by bit and will _burn_his _ own_child. Mel will not be in his camp any more when he meets his punishment. Your "mannis" is Richard III.
Yay this is a video about a topic I’ve wondered a lot about! Thank you! 🎉

Your "mannis" is Richard III.
Uh, you know Robert E Lee lost the war, right? So if YG defeats Dany who defeats him?
@@eric2500 Richard III was extremely based, Stannis burning Shireen will be justified.
@@eric2500 Thats why he defeats Dany so it doesnt look like copy and pasting history.
Cause she's bad
