I tend to bring up how I get pokerus almost every time I've played through a game (not from trades) yet have only ever found 1 shiny, and that shiny was trubbish. My luck is so skewed it's comical

I did catch that 1% Salamence, I spent almost an hour searching for Bagon then almost another hour sos chaining for Salamence, was worth it with an adamant nature and 5 perfect IV's it came with. Also Ive had pokemon carrying pokerus in 3 different games. Emerald, White, and Shield. So I'd say I've had pretty good chances with that, but I never knew it was that small of a chance lol. And I enjoyed hearing all these big numbers, I started laughing "But you know whats even rarer?" "But you know what's EVEN rarer!?" XD
Based on how RNGs work, some of these are literally impossible (eg. perfect shiny Spinda horde). It's possible that ONE of them could be shiny and have perfect IVs, but not all five.
Fun fact: there was a glitch that let you encounter ho-oh and lugia in mirage island but the chances of encountering them and having this glitch were about 1to 3billion

I'd have to correct you Dobbs, that bad recruitment rate for Kekleon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon only applies if you do the shoplifting method. In the remake of Red and Blue Rescue Team, they added another method to recruit Kekleon: They added Kekleon to the number of possible spawns in Joyous Tower. Since you can't bring in items (I think) to that dungeon, and you leveldown till you leave that dungeon. Which under those conditions (attempting to recruit Kekleon in Joyous Tower) Kekleon has a boosted recruitment rate (to it becoming a positive recruitment rate) there, and you don't need to shoplift from a shop in a dungeon to get him. Another change in the remake compared to the originals, is in the remake significantly lowers the number of floors in the dungeon you recruit Mewtwo in (I think...), and lowered some of the annoyances with recruitment for Legendaries, like boosting their recruitment rates
I caught Pokerus in Gold, Ruby, and Diamond. Due to that, I thought Pokerus was just something you get at some point in the game regularly. When it first happened to me in Gold, I was hunting Entei and Suicune because I already caught Raikou.
I still cant believe that pokerus is so rare. I've definitely gotten it WAY more times than I've found a shiny. Almost every pokemon game I've played I've gotten it at least once. Only 4 full odds shinies though

I don't know how rare my Unown attempt was (was getting bored so I decided to try it). I got all the way up to N when an R Unown ruined the streak. The next rarest thing I've done was getting the Salamence SOS call in Moon. Magnus the lv11 Salamence is still with me and he's a testament to my determination to get this thing. Shiny Pokemon just appear whenever they want (usually when I'm not expecting) but I think Magnus gave me a taste of what Shiny hunters do for a living.

I'd like to know the odds of hitting a pokemon with a move with 100% accuracy, after your pokemon is: paralyzed, confused, has Attract effects, got hit by 6 sand-attacks, against a pokemon that has: 6 double teams, attacked first with a move that may flinch (in fact, it can even be a Togekiss with Serene Grace).
Funny story. In SoulSilver I grinded so much that my Pokemon caught Pokerus. Once I found out, I spread it to my team as much as I could. And I've never gotten a full-odds shiny, even now.
For reference, mathematically anything that is less than 10^-50 (so 50 zeros after the decimal and before the one) is considered statistically impossible
Best odds for a shiny Pokemon is actually in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. If you are able to travel at least 5000 Light Years in the Ultra Worm Holes and enter a non-white worm hole that has three rings (very fancy looking), you have a 33% chance at finding a shiny Pokemon. So, the Odd Egg is basically the second best shiny rate.
Not only the togekiss serene grace, but I once flinched an aegislash that resists my jirachi with serene grace using iron head and it flinched every single time until I killed it. And it was still in shield form since it never got to attack.

If you give a Serene Grace Togekiss a kings rock, then the flinch chance is increased to 70% in Gen 5 onwards because Kings Rock before Gen 5 wasn't affected by SG
Shiny Detective Pikachu in Pokémon Go. You had to use a glitch to remove the shiny lock and even then, you had a 1/500 chance of getting one with only 1 encounter.
Imagine mispronouncing undecillion, trigintillion, and quinquadragintillion. That last spinda I couldn't interpret and I couldn't be bothered going through the naming conventions of numbers and managing to synthesize a name for that one in the end.

My first shiny Pokemon was a Psyduck with the cloud nine ability, I don't remember its stats but I do still have it, which I evolved into a golduck

The MasterBall lottery chance can be raised significantly depending on how many Pokémon with different trainer ID's are in the PC.
Plus it checks the IDs of the pokemon in the boxes too, rather than what's just in your party.

I had more than one pokemon like this, but probably the most memorable was my Oshawatt in black. I had no clue what nature it was, but I had to restart because I started the game wrong, so I reset until I got another female, and she even had an extra health point! Nice.
(I also got the whole team I had which consisted of patrats and lillipups the same gender and level as the previous save.)

So, if you've been trading a lot (much easier in later games that have GTS/Wonder/Surprise Trades), then you can make those odds much higher. Granted, it's still going to be low overall, but could approach 1% if you fill most of your boxes with unique ID numbers.
(9:03) You mean same ID as the lottery number, not the same ID as your Trainer ID (which is practically a guarantee, unless you traded away all Pokémon with your own ID, including your starter).
(10:42) In Gen. 2, DVs (IVs) ranged from 0-15 instead of 0-31, and there were only 4 stats instead of 6 (Special covers both SpAtk and SpDef, and HP is derived from which of the other 4 stats are odd). So, in Gen. 2 specifically, finding Youngster Joey's Rattata in the wild is a 1/65536 chance. (Breeding properly can give you better odds.)
U forgot about wally catching a shiny full health ralts and it being shiny in all 3 fights with wally (in gen 3 it is possible i had one were he caught a regular a 2/3 so it is possible)

I once caught a wild staravia with perfect IVs in platinum. Only reason I found out was because I was looking for a pokemon to breed with max attack iv and every stat was clearing Max while checking it in the frontier
What about going through a Pokémon crystal playthrough where every space that can have a Pokémon has a Pokémon and every time you get a shiny, and catching all of them first try with a pokeball

I don't know if it's a rare moment but a rare moment for me is when I used metronome and out of the metronome the move was metronome and it used it again so I got two mteronomes one for the attack and one free one. So you could imagine I was kind of confused at it.

I don't know how rare my Unown attempt was (was getting bored so I decided to try it). I got all the way up to N when an R Unown ruined the streak. The next rarest thing I've done was getting the Salamence SOS call in Moon. Magnus the lv11 Salamence is still with me and he's a testament to my determination to get this thing. Shiny Pokemon just appear whenever they want (usually when I'm not expecting) but I think Magnus gave me a taste of what Shiny hunters do for a living.

Spinda Can learn metronome in generation 6 if it is imported from a previous generation. This means that you could theoretically enter a horde battle against a horde of perfect spindas with your own perfect spinda and spend the whole battle with every spinda using each metronome move in order. Funny story. In SoulSilver I grinded so much that my Pokemon caught Pokerus. Once I found out, I spread it to my team as much as I could. And I've never gotten a full-odds shiny, even now.

Best odds for a shiny Pokemon is actually in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. If you are able to travel at least 5000 Light Years in the Ultra Worm Holes and enter a non-white worm hole that has three rings (very fancy looking), you have a 33% chance at finding a shiny Pokemon. So, the Odd Egg is basically the second best shiny rate.

If you give a Serene Grace Togekiss a kings rock, then the flinch chance is increased to 70% in Gen 5 onwards because Kings Rock before Gen 5 wasn't affected by SG

Shiny Detective Pikachu in Pokémon Go. You had to use a glitch to remove the shiny lock and even then, you had a 1/500 chance of getting one with only 1 encounter.
