Normal double reflex enclosures are designed with the main chamber having twice the net volume of the secondary chamber and two identical port volumes, one connecting the chambers and one exiting the secondary chamber. This causes the cabinet to have two different tuning frequencies and lowers the f3 and f10 of the bass response. I never saw it done backwards before. Designed any other way and the best quality and lowest possible bass will not be gotten out of the selected driver. The cabinetry work is beautiful although the cabinet seems too large for the driver. fs? vas? qms?

But one thing... you are using a sole 3 inches speaker that must reproduce the whole music spectrum. I dont find a good relation between the excelent job you have done with the wood and the final audio quality that you can obtain from the finished product...
I tend to agree with you, he did such a nice job on the enclosure just to put a dinky little woofer in it??? That thing deserves a proper speaker was my first thought.....
IF some crazy western audio corporation made this speaker , they would brag about its technology for years patent it and label it 3000$$....Anyway guy had done a beautiful job with simple concepts, his work is very neat and when he applied lacquer in the end it just came to life. Thumbs Up

Outstanding and painstaking workmanship. Please, please add 0.25 cm of your choice of sound absorbent to the inner walls of all your builds which has a port. For sealed enclosures that you might make in the future, do use at least 2.5 cm of the sound absorbent wadding to all the inner walls. If you are going for speaker units from the far east, the minimum should be from the brand called Tangband, to do justice to the craftsmanship you are adept at.
Wonderful. Would love to audition them. Securing the cone with string is interesting. Would it not perish over time and cause the speakers to come loose?
Yeah I never saw a design use string before , I would have used a gasket between the driver and rim of the hole , but the 4 screws in that good wood he used will be fine for a driver so small.
I heard solid wood fail to dampen echo and vibration, which's why most speaker manufacturers use MDF instead. Do you have this kind of problem with your build?
This speaker unit has a female thread at the rear. I think that it is best to use this to pull from the rear baffle with a long bolt like the Monitor Audio speaker system. Monitor Audio says that the sound quality is improved compared to fixing it to the front baffle with wood screws and that it can be adjusted after assembly.
I just don't get it. Making complicated speaker boxes to compensate for a tiny mid-range speaker with limited range? If you build such a nice box then put in a decent speaker as well.

I would like to hear the full potential. Now the cheap speaker drags down the overall quality. Don't get me wrong, I love the craftsmanship. But at the end the sound could have been much better.
Why build a beautiful box for a cheap speaker? There is a reason why Lexus doesn’t put a old leaky Volkswagen engine in their vehicles. Makes no sense to me. But nice boxes.
素晴らしいです。平板を張り合わせるところ、コーナーを出すところのかみ合わせ？の技術はプロですね。スピーカーの固定方法に工夫ありでこちらも創作意欲を掻き立てられます。背景に流れるピアノの曲もスピーカー外観とマッチして良いですね。
箱だけでも作って見ながらニヤニヤしながら美味しいお酒が飲めそうですね。工作ってデジタルな時代には余計に楽しいというか、ちょっとした改造であっても唯一の物を作り出す喜びが沸いてきます。自分もスピーカー作って遊んでますが箱は組んだものを買うかジャンクのスピーカーの箱を再利用してます。
凄い凄い技術に見惚れてしまいました。エィジングが進み音質が上がれば最高ですね・・・・・凄い。

このサイズのエンクロジャーなら台湾製のTangBand W3-582SC ( 8cmフルレンジ )も、良いのではないでしょうか。私はバスレスで作りましたが、完成したのを鳴らしてみると想像以上の低音が出て驚きました。安いユニットですがしっかりしたエンクロジャーに入れてやれば期待以上の音を聴かせてくれます。動画では吸音材を入れてなかったようですが、私は100均で買ったフェルト生地を貼り付けました。意外と効果がありました。

How much time is it done for one of them? And Why do you use 10w? Is it possible to use a more powerful and diameter speaker? for example 20 cm-40w
Larger cones = poor highs in most cases.
Two years pass the string gets slack & the speakers fall out of the box. ??
