    I tried this today for the first time on day 1 of sobriety (again). I felt the effects within the hour and I sailed through the day alcohol free even though I had a full bottle of wine at home. I was very pleased and I plan on taking it for the first week going alcohol free.

    I MUST SHARE: Caution when using with opiates ⚠️ I dont know why its not talked about but I felt like I was going to O.D. on my normal dose, when mixed with Mucuna (2,000mg)… it was scary and made it 5 times stronger than usual.
    I was taking (Tianeptine) a opioid-receptor-Agonist, similar to Tramadol..

    I'm a recovering heroin addict and know how the brain stops making it's own dopamine when you're flooding it with opiates and it takes months before your brain starts working to make normal levels of dopamine again. My question is this bean gonna flood my brain with dopamine and if so why wouldn't your brain stop making it's own dopamine like it does with alcohol and opiates? I'm thinking it must be extremely mild and so the brain will continue to make it's own dopamine and this bean nudges it along speeding up the process to reach a normal healthy level of dopamine? Need to know because I'm interested in buying this product.

    • @FitRecovery
      @FitRecovery  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Dopamine precursors are in protein foods too. Nutrition and brain supplements help with addiction they don't cause dopamine monopolies like alcohol, opioids, or other addictive powerful substances.

      You pose a great question. I was on H and C (speedballing for years), as well as alcohol, coke, meth, etc. Long-term anhedonia is something I have to cope with. I'm talking about the better part of 40 years of substance abuse disorder (addiction). Even though I've been clean for quite a while, eat real food (no added sugar(s), no processed food, etc.), and have a solid exercise routine, I'm pretty sure there's some irreversible damage. Hopefully (and doubtfully), you didn't get after it as hard or for as long as I did, and getting a good healthy lifestyle going will reverse the issues caused by H and whatever else. Dr. Huberman talks a lot about neuroplasticity as it relates to many aspects of life. Dr. Robert Lustig is an incredible source of information on metabolic processes and how food impacts our overall metabolic health. I can't speak to Mucana Puriens at this point. All the best to you.

      I don't have an answer but it could be something as simple as duration (Ativan vs valium half life in the blood ) or something more complex like a simultaneous augmenting of the bodies process while supplementing the deficiency.
      Good question 👍

      @@lauraestes9304 I did try it and didn't notice any difference.
      1. It gets digested before it gets to your brain unless you take special drugs with it (they say egcg from green tea works too but I didn't notice that)
      2. I think you must be terribly defficient in order to feel the difference - they actually use it as a drug for Parkinson's.
      The channel obviously makes money from advertising it, I suspect they know it doesn't work, otherwise it would be a common prescription or recommendation. Despicable really.

      Well, I found this bean from watching Chris' vid on 20 supplements to help with alcohol recovery..
      He said that Mucuna got him off of like 15 cups of coffee a day... that he was on, among other things, while quitting the high quantities of alcohol he was on.
      It did not get me off of Caffeine, but if I wanted to ditch it altogether, I would be able to.
      It did not prevent the headaches, but gave me dopamine and adrenal support. 🎯👍👍🍀

    • @bubblerings
      @bubblerings 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Umm.. You should be careful, when using these supps together... Especially, if you use Caffeine...
      To much of these precursers can make you crash after your heavy morning coffee rush..
      Thx to Chris and Fit Recovery vids, I have played with Mucuna and DLPA for over three years, now..
      Read the precautions on the labels.
      As far as I can tell, the agitation or anxiety side effects are much worse if you use Caffeine or other stimulants, making them act more like Meth...
      Why?? Because you have a full supply of adrenal chemicals and dopamine, which are increased in your system with stimulants.
      People tend to use Caffeine to feel better, when lacking energy.
      Be careful.
      Mucuna. One capsule is a good starting place per day. Maybe two, if it goes well.
      Am surprised he does not mention Seratonin syndrome on this one... just higher doses of supps.
      Not safe for everyone.
      Chris knows this.

    If it sounds too good to be true, most likely it is. I tried this sort of therapy to quit drinking in 2005 and 2006. Fast forward almost 20 years and I finally have around 3 years of sobriety. There is no magical cure that will make it easy for an alcoholic to quit drinking.
