    Bruce - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! Just got a 970 and made my 9th registration - where to put it!!! Read the Owner Manual, and the Reference Manual - NOTHING said about creating a new empty bank. Was ready to call Yamaha and bitch bigtime, but then found your post. Extremely helpful. As you say, it is NOT intuitive. But at least now I have a script to follow! Well done you!

    You saved my life! I have several groups to play in, plus solo gigs. I use a different repertoire for each. I was a going crazy trying to figure this out! The Yamaha resources didn't help, and there's a bunch of tutorials for Yamaha keyboards i don't have (I have the newer PSR_SX700. Yours was the closest thing i could find, and I could make it work because I used to have the PSR-1000, which has a similar screen display as your 770.
    You saved me hours of misery, mate! THANK YOU.

    thank you I agree with you Yamaha Manuals are not always easy to understand they have sub titles for different things on different pages and that drives me nuts. You did this very nicely and I could understand it so well thank you for your help.

    Well done, I had exactly the same problem. I thought I WAS saving but I wasn’t. Because of this it wouldn’t let me create any new banks.

    Ken, I appreciated the way you described your frustrating experience with such a sense of restraint. I agree with you! The process for manipulating Registration Memory could have been articulated with a better degree of ease in the manual. Nonetheless, many thanks to Yamaha for the technology provided. And many thanks to you for the efforts in sharing your experience.

    Thanks, I think that was very useful and informative, as I was also a victim of the above. I agree that YAMAHA sites, videos, and even manuals do not explain most of the functions, especially something like these in detail. I would also like to mention here that not only Yamaha but even Roland and Korg have this issue. I am still having a very hard time with the Roland EA7 and Korg pa 1000. All videos and Demos will only tell you the name of a button or label which all can read but not how to execute. Thanks again I will experiment with my psr 950.

    Thanks for this info mate...your correct the manual is confusing about this feature .I must admit I am a little disappointed in my PSS-S770, ( which i bought online) not so much in its software but mainly in its build..the keys action and response is horrible Its amplifier and Speakers are pathetic. Having been a PSR8000 owner for years perhaps I am was expecting similarity with its key action and speaker system. Its my fault I should have tried before i bought it.Now i had my moan lol i say to you keep up the good work this has helped a lot

    Dear Mr Kennewell - Hello Bruce. I have an S970 and at last I have found someone who also feels the Owner Manual isn't always as helpful as it should be. It presumes knowledge when like me, a self taught beginner, the pages become confusing !! I've been searching to find suitable English versions of 'What to do / How to do it' lessons etc....loads in German by Mr Alois Muller (if only I could understand Mr Muller !). Your video is excellent may I say. You mention at 01.10 "We all know how to create an arrangement.........' I can use the Reg buttons 1-8 so that each one has a different single instrument sound. But, Arrangements on each button, I'm stuck !! Have you a video that demonstrates how to do an 'arrangement' that would precede the above video ??? Sorry for the long message but yours is the first video that has been in any way helpful to me personally. Very best wishes :)

    Great job Bruce, you're definitely right...not much out there on creating your own styles or registrations. I've been in a trio (guitar, bass & drums) for many years. I'm thinking of transitioning from the bass guitar over to purchasing a PSR-S775. I grew up with same music that you enjoy.
    Thanks
    John

    Hey Ken,
    I have a PSR S970 and just bought a PSR S975. I want tr transfer my registrations from the 970 to the 975. Can it be done? I've tried but having trouble. Can you help me?
    Thanks, Rich

    • @hcrun
      @hcrun  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rich, the only way I can suggest is to do what I did last December when I bought a new PSR-SX700.
      I copied all the S770 registrations to a USB, popped that into the SX700 and then created a new User registry.
      I retained the USB as a backup until I was sure everything worked okay.

    I have a simple question for which I could not find a simple answer in the manual. I bought a style file that has four different voices n the One Touch set of buttons. For a particular song, I would like to replace One Touch button number 2 (OBOE) with a voice called CELLO so I can bring it up while playing. It occurred to me that to avoid changing the package user style, I could just save the style with all the registration data in the Registration bank. If this is possible, then how I replace OBOE with Cello for One Touch button number 2 and save the new setting with the whole style in the Registration Bank. Is there a way just to change the One Touch setting for number 2 OBOE and replace it with CELLO? Thanks for your help.

      @hcrun  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @brokerhc
      Thanks for your enquiry.
      You need to actually edit the Style itself (using the inbuilt function in your PSR) and then save that as a new style.
      Make sure that you have saved a copy of the Style which you need to edit; if you paid for it then you don't want to ruin it if you make errors...and you will, if my experiences are anything to go by! :)
      I hope that this helps you.

    Is there any way to create a new register from computer software (without using keyboard)? Then that newly created register can be downloaded to keyboard.

      @Rajesh
      Not as far as I'm aware, but then, I haven't tried to go down that road.
      All my editing is done on the keyboard and then saved to USB.

    HI, I am just a few days the owner of the psr s 770 and looked at your video several times. But I am very sorry, for me it's not clear. As I see it you are copying the beatles bank which already exists and deleting. Is that the right way to do it? When you begin from scratch , there are not any banks how to start then? But I see your vedeo is already a few years old so I don/t know if you're still active. Would be nice if you could answer me.

      Save that full bank as a new one by changing the name then delete all the 8 registrations and start from there.
      For example, if I have "1960" as the name of a bank, I want to add more songs from the 60s, I save "1960" as "1960 #2", delete all the registrations and then start adding another 8 tunes, saving it each time.
      I have multiple banks for the 1960s, 1970s and Easy Listening.
