Fun fact: Mick Walter (the actor playing Gus) was really taken with the briefcase stepladder, so they just let him keep it.
"She's playing with fire. He's not ready for Nibbly Pig." - favourite line.
This starts like Wallace and Gromit and ends up Lock Stock.
"Wallace & Gromit" is def one they should check out👍
Was about to say it looked like Wallace and gromit . You beat me to it. Oh well 😂😂
Popadoms are made from ground lentils and shallow fried to make them crispy. A MUST with your ruby murray..
And the tray of pots of chutneys! (Mango chutney is my favourite!)
You know, the best thing about these shows (other than the laughter) is that if you tell someone who doesn't know them they sound like really boring ideas: "Two catholic priests on an Irish island", "the IT department of a corporate branch" and "A book shop in London".
Sitcoms are notoriously all about the characters' whimsical personalities and actions.
*Two* priests? I beg your pardon. Sacrilege
That line that Danny reads at the end is the very famous first line from Pride and Prejudice.
He was reading Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' at the end, Fran is an amazing teacher.
that was a poppadum and indian food is brilliant youre missing out if youre not partaking
"Wank at home" - should have been the main C-vid message 😆
If you like Tamsin Greig (Fran) and Mark Heap (Jim from Friday Night Dinner); I'd love to see you react to Green Wing! It's set in a hospital and is so funny and weird. You'll recognize a bunch of the cast too :)
If you can get Bill Bailey’s standup show called “Part Troll” you will love it.
Seconded!!!
I was lucky enough to see that live and I still think it’s his best work
@@Live-by2vk absolutely agree. Would love to see the reaction to this over anything else
Danny Spudge is Ricky Grover, I first saw him at a comedy club in Southend 20 odd years ago, his first joke was: (acting 'all puffed out')
"I nearly didn't make on stage tonight, They've got a step and everything!"
He Slayed all night! 🤣
Tim Vine performed the week after.
And annihilated everyone. You literally couldn't breathe for laughing so hard.
He has perfect timing. 😊
"So I said to my wife last night...
What...?! I might have a wife, it's technically possible!". Very very funny bloke!
The Turkish delight comment was a reference to him playing the Dwarf in The Chronicles of Narnia.
Black books are from 2001. There was Narnia show before that ?
@@sfeeges The Chronicles of Narnia books were released between 1950 and 1956. And there were numerous TV show and movie adaptations during the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s.
He also played the dwarf in an episode of 'The Young Ones' doing a parody of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe.
@@RebornLeveller ok got it.
I absolutely love your relationship with Queen Boomer. You're both so cute together, and you both share the exact same sense of humour
I hope one day I can meet someone who will give me what you both have!!
We love QueenBoomer's jingles.
The name you're looking for is Rob Brydon - host of Would I Lie to You. And yes, that was a poppadom. Someone like Ray Winstone or Jason Statham reading audio books for kids would be great!
Black books, books that are black, visit once and never come back.
Check out “Goodness Gracious Me - going for an English” I recommend 😊 only about three minutes from a sketch show; mocks the white typical English going to an Indian restaurant.
Had to laugh at the Yankee pronunciation of Bernard. Have you ever heard anyone in the show call him, "Ber-NARD"? :D
Americans do that "French" pronunciation with "garage" as well, unlike the British "garridge"
The tone of Frans voice when she tells Danny to "sit down!"...so stern ❤
In the ice cream aisle at Walmart!??
Must've been Mr Whippy 🤣
By the standards of Walmart in Florida, that was tame.
Mr Whip It Out in Public. 😳
“I think it’s called a poppadom” - is the saddest thing I’ve ever heard 😢
Next one Garth marenghi’s dark places. You’ve never seen anything like it. The funniest comedy I have ever seen!!!!
Snuffbox would be good too, League of Gentlemen too maybe
@@Sabhaois Way too dark for QB
@@thadtuiol1717Nah she's a big girl now, in a few years she'll be a woman
@@thadtuiol1717 Goooood, Let the darkness flow. 😆
The series ''Green Wing'' with Tamsin Grieg - hilarious and... weird [ Obviously ]
Great Father Dougal impression at 29:42 "What's going on?".
17:22 "She just accidentally created the best children's book ever made." - that sounds like a great idea, someone should get on that .. let's give it a season :)
I certainly did enjoy the reaction, thanks as always guys!
There was brilliant British Illustrator/ Cartoonist around the end of the 19th century called William Heath Robinson who drew humorous complex contraptions and ingenious devices. His name has gone into the lexicon for anything like the 'jerry rigged' automatic toast delivery system. In the 80's there was a wonderful tv show with professor Hienz wolff called 'The great egg race' where teams raced to make ingenious devices out of every day bits and bobs. Wallace and Gromit kept up that tradition. Possibly as British a thing as possible.
The US equivalent wacky inventions creator was Rube Goldberg. Very similar in their contraptions and their level of recognition in the public awareness.
15:48 got me again. I was half way through swearing at my laptop until I realized that it is your computer acting up 😂 If your USB port is dying I'd switch to a different port (or add a USB PCIe card if you are out of ports). You might be able to tie wrap the cables down so that they don't jiggle loose.
Or just don't kick it.
Poor Dave Balou ,hes got the clams😂
Ricky Grover also voiced one of the best video game characters of all time! Yangus in Dragon Quest VIII!
His character in this episode feels very much like a real life Yangus😂
According to Bill Bailey, Big Mick who played Gus, liked the prop briefcase so he kept it.🪜😸👍 And Danny was a hairdresser...like his Mum 👍
There is a joke you missed. Gus asks one of his men to bring him some Turkish Delight. It is a callback to another job the actor had back in the 80s. The BBC made a famous TV adaptation of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (it is excellent, you should give it a watch). The actor playing Gus played the dwarf servant of the White Witch, who gives Turkish Delight to Edmund, one of the heros in the story.
I knew recognised them! Remember watching that. Thanks.
Not really a missed joke when about 8 people would ever get an obscure reference.
@@stingersplash Everyone born in the UK in the 80s got the joke.
@@stingersplash well I for one am happy to be informed. There are now more than eight 🤣🤘🏻
@@Trikeboy2I didn’t, but it’s a great nod
That King Boomer alarm sound at the start is my alarm on my phone now
3:36 that is one of the reasons video calls took so long to become a thing 😂
Need to watch SPACED
Catherine Tate's Anger Management
We lost our cubicles in a office move. Effing hated it, open concept offices suck. Too freaking noisy, especially if sales/support guys in the same room. Cubicles cut the background noise so you can think and talk on the phone and get work done.
Heath Robinson-style contraptions.
He's the O.G
The US equivalent wacky inventions creator was Rube Goldberg. Very similar in their contraptions and their level of recognition in the public awareness.
In the office, they're not talking to each other because they're British.
Keeps kicking the computer? Almost like he's a character in Black Books. :P
Poppadum's are like a giant plain crisp / chip, you break bits off and dip it in chutney or spiced onions.
29:09 Wait, is that a reference to when he played the White Witch's servant in The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe?
In the UK we call those contraptions 'Heath Robinson' Something is Heath Robinson (look up the cartoons on Google) its a mashed together knockup to often achieve an overly complicated aim. I was thinking more of Wallace and Grommet tbh when I saw it but BTTF is also good. :) There was a Game called MouseTrap popular in the early 80s along similar lines. I think all the copies after Heaths (who was the first to satire machinery) cartoons even Willy Wonka (Roald Dhal) copied Heath.
The US equivalent wacky inventions creator was Rube Goldberg. Very similar in their contraptions and their level of recognition in the public awareness.
I want you to watch Spaced but I wonder if it might be too British. But the show Not going out stars Lee Mack and I love it. You might enjoy that one. After season 7 it’s not as good but I still like it.
A popodum is like a giant spicy crisp, you can have a dip with it if riata like a spicy yoghurt, onion in mint sauce
mechanical breakfast dispensing constructions? .. you should check out Wallace and Gromit.
Tamsin is always the best character in any show she's in
Alan Ford reads The Brothers Grimm.
Loving seeing reactions to these britsits, hoping Sean Lock's sitcom '15 Stories High' is on the list!
Give toast of London a try
I love you two. Your reactions are terrific. Long live the Queen and King Boomer.
The Queen's sigh when she had to explain what was happening when Fran got fired! 🤣🤣
Day 1 of asking for THE MIGHTY BOOSH REACTIONS
I think they should both watch it too, it's great, but don't pester them every video.
It sounds like you keep knocking a USB cable loose. That's the sound of a new usb input being recognised.
Here's an idea for a theme song
(to the tune of the Bad Boys theme)
What you gonna do when they sell to you
Black books, black books
With Bernard and Fran and Manny too
Black books, black books
Brown bread is cockney slang for dead
I'm lunching with an old friend at a local Sri Lankan restaurant tomorrow. I shall think of you when the poppadoms arrive.
Yes, poppadum, also known as a "BFC" or Big F***ing Crisp
You should definitely try Indian food in the UK, it's BANGIN. 💜🇮🇳
Brilliant episode and reaction!
Aww, I was hoping King Boomer would start this upload off with his reaction to the end of previous episode.
Ha! Would be hilarious and disturbing if you found out that wanker was the guy who made the ice cream in that shop
Danny sounds like a Steven Segal :D
It could’ve been worse. “Ice-cream Guy” could have been behind the counter serving it.
Ice-cream guy: So what’ll it be?
Customer: Just a chocolate ice cream, with a cone thanks.
Ice-cream guy: Would you like sauce or syrup with that?
Customer: What sauce have you got?
Ice-cream guy (with a cheeky grin on his face) We have this new, special “homemade” sauce. Extra thick, slight aftertaste but I highly recommend it. It’s free. No charge.
Customer: Oh, go on then.
Ice-cream guy: Coming (pardon the pun) right up!!
The would I lie to you host is Rob Brydon
Buttered...With Harry on the boat. Harry on the boat is rhyming slang, right?
boat usually means face (boat race) so some form of markings (harry??) onthe dead (brown bread) body?
Might be worth putting your computer tower on top of your desk if you're prone to kicking it that much, lol
That is a popadom, gotta come to the uk and have a proper Indian!
9:30 Interesting point. Why do you have that strange, cut-off-from-everyone cubicle office set up over there? You never see anything like that here, and I haven't seen anyone commenting on it either. 🤔🤷♂️
You should react to the UK series Coupling
You called it right on the Poppadom - yummy, crunchy things that they are. But you forgot to move the PC before watching Brit comedy!
Good reaction as always😂
You might want to check out the show 'Look Around You' it's a surreal take on school educational videos.
You would have to deliberately by-pass all the cut-outs in a modern UK Consumer Unit to get 'electrocuted' in your bath. The way they show it in films just does not work.
Go to vegas and use a toaster/melon instead?
Much more dangerous power systems in the US
This is probably the best Black Books episode. It's certainly my favourite one.
Lifecry and the book writing is my favourite
I'm sorry, but as an Indian, the funniest part of this for me (partly because I've watched Black Books loads) was you two discussing what a poppadom is 😂 Not in a mean way, just I was so shocked 🤭
Who now wants a Indian takeaway?
So bad
You’re right boomer! It’s called a poppadom and you often get it before your main dish and it comes with 4 or 5 different sauces including chutney and one little onion bowl. It snaps because it’s thin and crunchy 🤌🏻
Best with lime pickle.
Pant Tennis!
You and QB really should watch Wallace and Gromit ❤
Hi King boomer, started watching your video reactions for a few months now loving it, I know you get plenty of recommendations, but if you ever get a chance please please watch “Bo selecta”you will cry with laughter it genius and goofiness, also the fast show would be a good view
Brian you could get a job working in a dysfunctional book shop .
I thought I loved ice cream more than the next guy did... unless the next guy is the walmart guy
You ought to make a kick panel or cushion for your computer. Poppadoms are actually from America, named after the Western hero Poppadom Cassidy.
FRAN IS IN NEWER COMEDY "EPISODES" 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤❤❤
Still want her to become Dr. Who.
With Joey Tribiani :D Excellent choice!
I love poppadoms - yum yum or naan bread
Pure Laurel & Hardy
What's wrong with TH-cam i had to resubscribed to you channel again today
Reconnect all ur cables. Sounds like the plug and play sound... something is not connected properly, or one of ur ports are faulty. Must be something physical atleast as it happens when u kick it about a bit.
You could also check the windows eventlog, a sound like that surely will prompt an entry in there.
You probably already tried everything like that when i think about it... Don't mind me, carry on. IT-tech brain activated, havent worked in a good while so.
You guys are Clamstastic love the banter
Should've got your ice cream QB 😊
Keep Calm
And
Wank at

Trans boss is Richard Brydon...who's a good buddy of Steve Cogan ("Alan Partridge")
They are in crazy film together "TRISTAM SHANTY" an impossible film to make...they did it.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You're like a British couple. Banter is love.
Gadgets. Have you had any requests to react to Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers?
"lathering material"
Me and 2 mates from bar we worked at one finished early and 2 off us had split shifts we went to the cinema by the bar to watch rocky and no lie a guy was w@nking in the cinema shout out to russ and phil😮
Its more like a chip than a biscuits
Wait you guys dont usually eat poppadoms? it's less like bread more like a giant chip lol. But smells and tastes really fresh
