Also, congrats on 2K. I just found out about you because of celtics videos. Celtics nation is very big. I went to a Oklahoma City game when I was there when they were hosting the Celtics I swear half the crowd were Celtics fans lol.
I am so damn excited about getting Porziņģis. Have not been this excited since we got Garnet. Whenever we have a dominant big man, we are so dominant parish Garnet now Porziņģis.
@@palehorserider1407If I’m the Celtics, I’m not immediately offering JB the extension. The smart thing to do would be to see if Dame becomes available this off-season and then offer a package centered around JB, possibly Brogdon, Pritchard, or Grant and maybe some picks for Dame. Because we would be paying someone who would fulfill our offensive needs and would take us over the hump and win a chip with and outside of this year we’d actually be paying him significantly less than JB and have a better chance of keeping KP. And worse case you offer him the extension towards the end of this off-season if Dame doesn’t become available.
No, they said it before. But Kristaps is on a 1 year deal; I can't imagine Brown would take less to benefit a new guy. My expectation is, The cap number skyrockets soo and the money won't be as a big a deal as it seem within the next two years OR they give Brown the supermax then trade him.
Out of all the Smart trade rumors in the past there’s no way we trade Smart for a 1 year rental with KP. And I don’t know if the Celtics would feel good about having to bet on the salary cap sky rocketing I just don’t think it makes sense to give him the super max extension right away when there’s a very good chance that sometime this off-season Dame will be available when outside of this year he’s on a cheaper contract than JB, allowing us a better chance to keep KP, and Dame gives us everything that we struggled to do offensively in the playoffs. (A true PG ball handler that can score on all 3 levels and would easily be our best playmaker, gets better in the playoffs and is the best in the clutch, where we were TERRIBLE) And if we don’t get him then later this off-season we can give JB the extension and trade him next off-season if he underperforms again in the playoffs.
That’s assuming you don’t already have anything around them. This team pretty much has its playoff rotation and other players that could step into a role under contract.
Well the notion that I wanted to bring up is spending. Obviously the HAVE the bird rights to resign the guys they currently have, but at a certain point, will ownership want to pay 220+ million a year in salaries AND 200+ million a year in taxes?
Overpaying an all NBA player by 10 million a year isn't the worst thing ever, It's part of the leauge and you can't get bargains on every player if you want to keep a team competitive. Jaylen will always be an assett regardless
@@JoseSantos-zj3ll most teams don’t have two all nba talents to begin with. The Celtics would be dumb to just give up on even one of those two just to save a few dollars to add a bunch of mediocrity. If you’re telling me my only additional penalty is that I don’t have a free 12 million to sign a guy that’s likely not going to be in the rotation or that I can’t sign a guy who just got out of a bad contract then I think I’ll take my chances. This just means the Celtics have to actually make good draft picks and Stevens can’t keep trading back and not using them. You pay those two and at this point even Kristaps and you figure out the rest later. What you saving money for? To be back in the same situation? Lol
@@pauloc4931 neither did any of the bums fans think they could replace him with. I’ll take my chance on 27 points per game over a bunch of guys that may or may not give you 12 points a game. You let go of JB you have no money to get anyone else regardless so all you’re really doing is making the roster worse short and long term. Then guess who definitely wouldn’t want to stick around? That’s right, Jayson Tatum. And you’re back to being the same trash team from 2014 with nothing to show for it. Which would then make trading Pierce and Garnett a wasted move.

Lots of great incite, thank you.
Congratulations for your good video discussing the hard, tough issues.

I'm pretty sure that they will offer a supermax to JB and see what happens this year. If they don't win, they'll trade him the next summer.
Great vid 🔥☘️
They won't offer him less than the supermax. The Celtics have said publicly he "earned the supermax."
Plus his contract won’t look bad in 2/3 years as crazy as that sounds
Have they said this after the Kristaps trade?

Nice Video
Jaylen Brown your next video Hoops Empire 🙏🙏🙏
Under the new CBA paying 2 players a total of about 115 million a year will ruin a team's title pursuit.

Overpaying two all-nba players means 20 million a year. Not much $ left for good players...
