I really dont want to be too negative but I wonder what the jury was thinking when they chose this song for umk. It doesnt feel like an eurovision song at all. 😅
I get the feeling that this and Nelli Matula's songs are more aimed at domestic market & radio play than Eurovision 😉 UMK actually has more viewers in Finland than actual Eurovision finals (at least did so last year; this was told in the UMK reveal show), so it's actually big now by its own right, and this may explain some of the choices. This is my least favorite out of the 3 songs now published; but never mind, the big hitters are still coming! :D
The release order of the songs seems to follow quite similiar pattern every year. Robin's song in 2023 was released third as well, which was kind of similiar semi generic smooth "radio song", but after that all songs (except maybe Lxandra's ballad) were quite epic meanwhile the first 2 songs were decent. So lets see if the same release order trend continues this year, i was expecting this song to not be the most interesting one, but i think it still has potential audience (which is not perhaps Eurovision).
I think the same. Good song for radio playing in summer evenings, but not in the eurovision. I dont think even stellar stage show can do much for this. But all and all i still like this!
The melody of the chorus gives me the some vibes of Sunrise Avenue and also nostalgic iskelmä-pop/rock like Leevi and the Leavings. I imagine it does well in national radio, but I am afraid this could be a letdown on a Eurovision stage.
This may sound strange but I think that this song is a little bit underwhelming in a positive way. Basically I mean that his style seems genuine to me even though it feels like something´s missing. And I absolutely think that it´s a catchy song, but it needs amazing staging to make it an ESC contender.
I agree with what you're saying. I think the song is a bit too flat and not building up to something epic, just like the first two entries. It's too early to draw conclusions but I hope the next songs will stand out more. On the other hand, it may make it easier for Erika or Viivi to win...

Are you high? Hitaammin Hautaan is literally 2nd in Spotify top 50 for third day in a row and Nightmares is 16. People are listening to these songs and enjoying them. We literally can't have 7 songs that are some Euroviisu novelty because that was tried in 2010s and nobody cared or watched UMK. There basically needs to be these radiosongs for the competition to retain its reputation as hit making factory, and that way we get actual quality artists applying instead of some ö-tier people with their Mello reject songs

UMK is not a competition for eurovision it's a place to promote new music. Eurovision entry is just the main prize

The chorus reminds quite a lot Suvi Teräsniska's Täydellinen elämä (perfect life)

This one is actually my favorite so far. But it's probably also a song that I would expect on the radio rather than eurovision.

Sometimes that stupid time rule makes the songs so short that the enjoyment is minimal.
