Erika broke UMK records with her streaming numbers and youtube views within first 24 hours (even with her mv getting shadowbanned!!) and I'm so scared this is gonna give me false hope and I'll be devastated on the night of UMK😬 god please it needs to be her!!
This song is probably on my 6th spot of this UMK but I can understand why people like it. The thing is - would it be even accepted at ESC? I have big doubts about it.
Erika is just clear the strongest I can just imagine being in the ESC arena and the crowd are screaming ICH KOMME as she slays the stage SHES JUST MEANT FOR THE EUROVISION STAGE!! 🍯💛
Ye she is clearly the favourite to win. My personal favourites are however Viivi and Neea, they have in my honest opinion the best and most beatiful singing voices in whole competition and Viivi's ballad especially is really touching for me atleast. Sadly I know its very unlikely that they would win, but I much rather take Erika than that dreadful Puppy song.
@ I have Nightmares as my second place. Honestly it’s such a banger but I know there’s no chance in seeing Neea win as the song is just a little generic for todays Eurovision But I’m gonna be streaming that bop for many years to come! And yes I really need Erika to win not just because I love her song and because I know it’s the best one here. But also because I feel she was robbed last time and I think she’s ready for the Eurovision stage and has been for a very very long time 🔥
@@henryriley4958 Erika "the best here"??? How can a porn song in any way be "the best"?? And it's not even a song, there's no melody, it's just a porn show. Horrendous.
Something positive about all 7 songs 💗⬇️ 1. Neea River - Nightmares: She sounds AMAZING. Great song to play at the gym, although it makes me wanna drop the dumbbells and dance. 2. Nelli Matula - Hitaammin hautaan: This song makes me feel grateful for my life - it empowers me! And she can MOVE. 3. Costee - Sekaisin: I was harsh at this song at first, but i've actually been playing it few times. The chorus reminds me of a song from my childhood and gives me warm nostalgia. 4. VIIVI - Aina: The feelings are strong. THE. FEELINGS. ARE. STRONG. And gates of tears are open. 5. OML - Puppy: If nothing else wakes u up, this most definitely will. Love the energy and sillyness, the guys seem so happy. Nowadays always when i see puppies, in my head im "PUPPYYY!!!". 6. Goldielocks - Made of: This works so good for walks! I'll be walking in a some kind of rythm (which possibly seems weird to outsiders) but who cares - i feel like Dua Lipa on the stage! 7. Erika Vikman - ICH KOMME: Three words - MOTHER, ART AND HONEEEEYYY.
My rankinggg (that's pretty damn stable for once) 1. Erika Vikman - ICH KOMME ✨ 2. Neea River - Nightmares 3. Goldieocks - Made of 4. Nelli Matula - Hitaammin hautaan (3 & 4 were actually so hard to decide) 5. Viivi - Aina (I feel like I need to listen to this one a lil more) 6. OML - Puppy 7. Costee - Sekaisin (just not a fan)
My top 7: 1.Viivi (rarely Ive moved by ballad, but this did it. Sadly we Finns arent gonna win it for the win, but she has my vote) 2.Neea River (yes it might be not most creative song, but its so high quality and just joy to listen to, the best voice along with Viivi's this year) 3.-4 Erika and Goldie....cant decide which put 3rd and 4th, they are more or less even for me 5. Nelli Matula 6.Costee 7.OML (Puppy is one of those rare songs that actually managed to annoy me 😂)
So now after at least 10 listens for each song, i'd have to rank the songs in the following order: 7th: Costee 6th: OML ----------- anything from this point i enjoy -------- 5th: Goldielocks. 4th: Viivi ------- anything from this point i love ------- 3: Nelli Matula ------- anything from this point im obsessed with ------ Joint 1st: Neea Rivers & Erika Vikman Ive literally played the hell out of Nightmares & Ich Komme! If either of these win, i'll be super happy. ❤
Well as Finn I can say she is without a doubt favourite to win, she has same kind of winner status atm like Rasmus had in 2022. I would be very suprised if she didnt win. Personally she is not my favourite, I rank Viivi and Neea on top, but Erika is on my shared 3rd place with Goldie, so I wouldnt mind too much if she won.
ive started saying itll be within 1 week now, cos im so behind due to travel/sickness etc. but as UMK is one of my main things, itll be quicker than that
Oh Tom, I was going to go to bed early! Well, there goes that plan. (Commenting for the algorithm, obviously. I'm sure no-one is interested in my sleep schedule.)
@@ESCTom Oh, I thought this'd be your top 7 & your take on the competition as a whole? (Listening to the vid as I am getting ready for bed, and I am struck again by how amazing the songs in this year's UMK are. People are complaining about how nothing really stands out, and I'm like "It's because they are all bangers".)
For me, the weakest song is "Puppy." It goes WAY too hard, and I think they saw the cat love that Marko had last year and they're like, "hey, let's see if we can centre a song around a dog theme, and go super harder with it," but I feel if it were to go to Eurovision, like you said, it's quite divisive, it would either NOT qualify, or come 25th/26th in the final IF it made it there. Rock songs are one thing, but screamo hard metal is so noisy and annoying. Some people do like that, but it's going to come down to the majority. Plus, we know the juries would probably give it zero points lol. Ich Komme is probably the closest to Cha Cha Cha in terms of bridging genres to make it more palatable for the audience, but honestly, as we all know, National Finals can go all over the place lol. Plus if we got Ich Komme and KANT at ESC this year, it will be super chaotic. Zorra has opened so many doors it seems lol.
At least it's original and energetic, stands out from the masses. That alone would get so much more points than something boring and uninspired like Costee's song. No one would vote for something they won't remember after a couple more songs have passed. In any point scoring contest, I'd say divisive is better than forgettable.
Ok, I feel like I have to comment also on this, because your comment very well ilustrates a lot of eurofans' approach. As metal listener, I definitely don't think it goes way too hard, actually I would love to see also some much heavier sounds at ESC. For a person who is not familiar with metal genres on daily basis, it might be perceived this way, I get it, but you gotta remember there are still a lot of people who like this stuff and at ESC you cant vote against something, only for, so it gives Puppy huge advantage. Also you should know that One Morning Left make this kind of music for very long time, wayy before Cha Cha Cha and their sounds were usually strongly in metalcore category, with a lot of humour and absurd. Obviously this will flop with juries, but honestly you don't have any winning material in UMK this year and Puppy will make you stand out the most and might get a lot of televotes.
It depends sooo much on that live.... Winner cud be: Ich komme, Puppy, Made of, Aina or Hitaammin hautaan. But I preferred songs on Finnish languge ☺️👍💪
Puppy is definitely the best among all the entries in UMK and probably my favourite song so far of this NF season :) I love electronicore and it actually represents this subgenre very well, especially after that Electric Callboy situation we finally have chance to have this sort of sound at ESC and obviously I love puppies and this song perfectly ilustrates how I react to them :D I know, it's not for everybody and I totally get it, but the amount of hate this band received from eurofans is trully disgusting. I've seen plenty of comments about "unhinged men, disgusting song, awful screaming and nothing else, disgusting lyrics, etc". I saw even people spreading fake info about band members sexual abuse, which is of course not true at all. Its trully awful how people have no tolerance towards other people and their tastes.

No
It could go the same way as Sara Siipola last year, if the performance on the night is lacklustre i could see that happening
This song is probably on my 6th spot of this UMK but I can understand why people like it. The thing is - would it be even accepted at ESC? I have big doubts about it.

Amazing set of songs in Umk this year. I would be happy with anyone of them being the winner.
my fave is Goldielocks and my dogs fave is Puppy

It has this Scooter, Rammstein techno rave Anthem vibe it's just insane
Erika!!
The lyrics and visuals might be a problem; not seen as acceptable in this context.
The FFIX Vivi reference made me happy. Love that lil guy ❤
My ranking ended up being almost the reverse of the release order - only with Nelli bumped up 2 places. Really hoping Erika makes it!
