This is a winchester SX3 SEMI-auto shotgun. This shoutgun has no modifications!!! Winchester has simply added a magazine extension for a greater amount of rounds. There is a lot of immature individuals making comments on this particular post in which, I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd watch the language and foolish un-educated comments. Keep in mind people, there are children who read these comments. Let's all try to be a positive voice for the world of firearms. Patrick Flanigan
The shotgun being used by Patrick Flanigan in this video is the Winchester SX3 Semi-Auto "Flanigun". This gun has no modifications other then a magazine extension added to the gun to allow all of the rounds.
There is a huge difference between modifications and the extension of rounds allowed. If I was to plug the extension and allow for only 3 rounds would I consider it to be a modification?
The power is still in the shell. The rifle is just a mechanism to release the round into the air. Some shotguns have rifled barrels to add spin to the payload. This utilizes centrifugal force to cause the buckshot to "open" early. He's using a smooth bore, so it has normal spread. The payload's power isn't altered by the weapon in this sense unless it can somehow increase the muzzle velocity by allowing barrel pressure to increase.
Right Fully Auto is holding a trigger down to fire more than one round, semi-auto is pulling the trigger for one round, but not cocking\pumping. The semi-auto some people are thinking of is burst fire, where you hold down the trigger to fire just 3 shots.
To answer any questions of the Winchester SX3 "Flani-Gun" being used in the video. Please search out Winchester SX3 "Flani-Gun" video and you will find the answer to the question of the gun being full auto or semi auto and whether or not it's a real gun or a toy.
first off, that's fast. now to the comments made earlier, I didn't see anything that said or seemed to show that this was a .410, it looks like 12 gauge low brass shell casings coming out of the gun to me. It does depend on the shotgun. as far as speed in an auto loader, the speed of the shot depends on the speed of the action. also the split second timing of the shooter to be able to squeeze the trigger at the precise time the action closes and the round goes into battery. thats a fast shotgun
Its a bump fired semi, thats when you pull the gun forward, the recoil pulls it back but when the force is expended your pull forward on the gun fires it again.
It says right at the end of the video that it is a Winchester SX3. Seriously people need to pay more attention to the videos AND the vid descriptions before they comment.
actually if you watch his finger in the slo mo, you can see it going back and forth barely, it doesnt take much to fire a weapon even if you dont move your finger much at all
Actually it's a personal prefernce, I guess. However, the smallest additons to a firearm then would make it a modified firearm which in turn would disqualify the firearm from a lot of world record/ competetion events. For example if extended choke tubes where considered modifications they wouldnt be allowed for certain events. I would consider any adjustments to the firing mechanism, trigger assembly etc. to be modifications. Changes that the average consumer couldnt have done. Thanks!
I think the people are missing the poitn of this clip. I think this is more to demonstrate how fast this gun can shoot and handle the rounds. Of course not saying I can do that, but that is amazing.
Does anyone know if he uses rounds with less powder in to make it have less recoil? Either way it's very impressive but it seems like he handles the recoil a little TOO well. I could be wrong though.
the AA-12 is full auto isn't it, though i don't think this gun is? still, for him to fire that fast and keep the gun relatively level is pretty damn nice
Only one way to find out. Do so, then post a video on youtube. After you post said video, come back here and let us know it's up. I'm eagerly awaiting it.
Mate, at the start of the clip it actually states thats its a Winchester SX3 autoloader, not a spaz, the spaz is bigger and ugly and comes in several different flavours, including a 12guage 7 shell long barrel. version.
its easy a clay disk is thrown into the air and you shoot the shotgun at it. it takes a lot of practice to get the leading right but its pretty fun (not to mention expensive). but you need a shotgun if you didnt already know that and use a 12 gauge there is more shot than 20 or 410
This is causing alot of confusion be what would be considered semi-automatic for rifles (one bullet per trigger pull) is often called automatic for shotguns and pistols.
Yes, there are multiple "things" called shot, coming out. You will not see them due to they are going WAY to fast for the camera to pick up. The shot is held within the shell, witch are the things flying out of the gun after they are fired.
its a semi aoutomatic it has next to no recoil just cause its a "12 gauge" dosnt mean that its automaticly going to knock him on his ass when i fires it
It might seem nitpicky to always correct people on the usage of terms like full auto, semi-auto, and all firearm related terms really. The reason I do it is because I feel it's important for people to actually know what the terms mean, so that when gun control bills are proposed they will realize that legislators are often times intentionally misusing terms to mislead an ignorant public.
Sorry, I'm a noob, but is he supposed to pump it? If it's a semi-auto shotgun then all that matters is pulling the trigger fast enough, and that's not so hard since a semi-auto shouldn't require much force.
i love shoutguns i always shoot mine at a range i got in the woods with some friends but im sure that an Automatic Shotgun cause if it wasnt some trickery is goin on here

Crazy fast shooting man!
great, so what did he hit?
That many rounds in that short of time is pretty amazing, but what where you shooting at?
The power is still in the shell.

Check out Patrick's TruGlo commercial where he is using his talents for drumming as well.

i met him at cabelas,
he is super nice.
He signed my hat :D
whata beast
It says right at the end of the video that it is a Winchester SX3.

How does your shoulder feel after that?
that was so tight.
dang that shotgun's a beast
awesome dude amazingly fast
hell ya! that was awesome. hes got a fast finger
does this thing have kickback?
whats better semi auto shotguns or pumps
I shoot BB shot and it literally almost kicks the same as most guns shooting 4 or 5 birdshot. This gun is seriously incredible
pretty fast, does he have good accuracy shooting that fast?
This guy brings the term auto-shotgun to a whole new level.
What action is his shotty?
hes just skilled like that
actually if you watch his finger in the slo mo, you can see it going back and forth barely, it doesnt take much to fire a weapon even if you dont move your finger much at all
Winchester SX3 it says that in the description
12 shells in just a second? Now that takes skill and physical prowess. That and good aiming he's all set for a good gunfight.
damn!!! what kinda shotgun is that?? ikno its gotta b atuomatic but what kind?????
It's called Winchester Super X3 also known as SX3.
this gives get off my property a whole new meaning lol
How is he shooting 12 from that gun, are they Aguila mini shells?
does anyone know the model of this gun?
12 shells in 1 second? That takes skill and a serious arm strength. That and good aiming will keep him alive in a real gunfight.

Thanks!
Now that is Rapid Shooting!!
daaaaammmnnnn. nice shootin.
My thoughts exactly.
yeah and were the hell is he holdin all those shells. my 12gauge only holds 4 and same size
I didn't see or hear anything on the vid say it was a .410, the shell casings looked like low brass 12s to me,
I think the people are missing the poitn of this clip. I think this is more to demonstrate how fast this gun can shoot and handle the rounds.

I didn't even see all the shells come out until it hit slow mo!
Wow, what kinda shotgun is that?
Wooow, That is fast
its depend on the spring it carries in the magazine
very nice
what does having an orange bit on the end of your barrel have anything to do with safety..
Look up the other hundreds videos of him on youtube
is it a pump!!! or semi auto? either way purdy fast
since when did .410 come in red casing?
the AA-12 is full auto isn't it, though i don't think this gun is?
still, for him to fire that fast and keep the gun relatively level is pretty damn nice

this guy has a semi-auto so for him to do this is pretty amazing and im surprised i would whine about my shoulder after that.
You know thats a pretty good system to use the recoil to remove and reload a shell
as fast as the human finger may be, that gun has to be just as fast to keep up.
So I am wondering, are there no modifications to the gun?
nice gun!
no pumping?
damn that's fast!...
Man, did you saw the bullets that it takes?
These things are something like barels!!!
you would never miss a bird with that speed lol xD
Well I'm sure you and him aren't the only people in the world with that name :)
Mate, at the start of the clip it actually states thats its a Winchester SX3 autoloader, not a spaz, the spaz is bigger and ugly and comes in several different flavours, including a 12guage 7 shell long barrel. version.
is he just shooting into the wind, or does he have some kind of goal or objective?
i want him & Bob Munden playing paintball with me!
Hes name is Irish is he a decendent?
its easy a clay disk is thrown into the air and you shoot the shotgun at it. it takes a lot of practice to get the leading right but its pretty fun (not to mention expensive). but you need a shotgun if you didnt already know that and use a 12 gauge there is more shot than 20 or 410
ye' ol classic home defender :P
Actually his accuracy is rather amazing, there are other videos of this guy shooting discs.
Hell yes he does. Betcha he's got the golden shotty, too.
Thats Awesome! Is It Semi Or Auto? Lol Just Wondering
hes just that crazy :P
The AA12 cycles much slower than most production semiauto's, not to mention the SX3 and the new Benelli's.
it's not fake, recoil isn't very bad on shotguns depending on the load of the shell n i have that shotgun n it greatly reduces recoil
This is causing alot of confusion be what would be considered semi-automatic for rifles (one bullet per trigger pull) is often called automatic for shotguns and pistols.

a machine gun shotgun? INSANE!!!!!
He's now the record holder for hand thrown with 11.
holy shit thats a semi auto shotgun firing faster than the rate of fire than most fully automatic shotguns have.
That's fast.
was he bump firing?
Nice shotgun, I bet the trigger pull is very light.
Thats freken funny. Was there even anything left?
its a semi aoutomatic it has next to no recoil just cause its a "12 gauge" dosnt mean that its automaticly going to knock him on his ass when i fires it
he makes it an automatic gun! unbelievable
It might seem nitpicky to always correct people on the usage of terms like full auto, semi-auto, and all firearm related terms really. thats like a machinegun :D
at first I thought it was an automatic shotgun. But in slowmo its a semi. Wow thats fast.
He lives by me.
WOW!
its semi automatic in the slow motion part of the video, u can see him move his finger slightly
Man, look at his torso slowly bending back due to recoil
Sorry, I'm a noob, but is he supposed to pump it?
If it's a semi-auto shotgun then all that matters is pulling the trigger fast enough, and that's not so hard since a semi-auto shouldn't require much force.
holy shit i wouldn't wanna be in front of that gun!
Caliber 12/70?
As far as I know,m the Winchester SX3 is semi-automatic, meaning you have to pull the trigger once for every shot.
auto are also used. its just the movies use em cos it makes that call pumping sound. XD
i love shoutguns i always shoot mine at a range i got in the woods with some friends but im sure that an Automatic Shotgun cause if it wasnt some trickery is goin on here
WOW!!
