Hello Mary,I m from India.my 2 years 5months old son has not started speaking yet.He is diagnosed with ASD . My husband is not ready to believe that he is autistic. He believes that it is just a speech delay and he will be fine with time.but I am really worried about him. (In our society Autism word is not common.only a few people know about Autism.) please help me.
Im a parent of 3yrs old nonverbal asd..resently diagnose..it was hard to accept at first specially with my husband but slowly we took our time and understand..shes doing occupational therapy which help her improve a lot...i suggest you as well put her in occupational therapy(2x a week about 1.5 hrs per session) along with speech therapy..i also do research on my own being a housewife i give her 2hrs one on one time to play and interact with her . It does help a lot.
I also spend a lot of time with my son to improve his eye contact.he speak many words but not intellectual speech.can you explain about your daughter and improvements in her behaviour after occupational and speech therapy
@@NEERUJANJUA you can google about it for detailed info but it did wonder for my daughter, shes still non verbal now at 3 but seems to improved her understanding and behaviour...we cannot afford to send her to speech therapy privately along with her OT because it expensive to send her to both so for now we will focus on OT(occupational therapy)first, after this speech therapy when shes a bit older...if can afford both would be great.
@@NEERUJANJUA at least your can speak..mine really non verbal...ask her doctor about the occupational therapy program..we live in Malaysia and our government hospital do provide us with this service but due to many cases we went to see a private centre to do this for faster results....this therapy is a MUST for kids diagnosed with ASD.
Thank you, this was really informative and helped me understand what is meant, by prompting.
Prompting means to help a child do the skill
Thank you for this video. Your videos have helped me a lot!
