Have you ever looked at a ScaleTrains N scale model? No, have you ever really looked at it? When I was recording the N Scale Friday episode that published on September 29, 2023, I realized that the N scale C44-9W model I was looking at is almost as detailed as the HO model of the exact same locomotive. Since I borrowed both of these models from my friend James, I decided to do a side-by-side comparison. If you're not really paying attention, you might mistake the N scale one for something bigger!

I don't know why N scale doesn't have a larger share of the market. It is so good now!
Couldn't agree more. The current crop of N scale Scale Trains and Micro Trains stuff is sublime.
Phenomenally superb N scale locomotive, and HO. About the only thing I noticed consistently was that the N scale couplers, grabs and handrails are bigger, which is understandable. 👍
Biggest thing I noticed between them is the hand rails. They can only make them so thin.
You can probably use some mega thin wire to replace the railings
I've only just 'discovered' Scale Trains and I have to say, I'm really considering a return to North American N scale modelling.
I don't have the room for HO and don't have the skills to fit all that added detail like grab irons, coupler cut levers, etc. I was always frustrated by the 'bald' look of N scale but this level of detail just blows my mind and, as a mostly European modeller, the prices for DCC ready are extremely attractive, even accounting for import duties.
Nice job Scale Trains!
I'm an Ho scale person n the o gauge, o scale, garden scale n the big scales that you can ride on your property n entertain friends and family
The quality of the details gives away the N-Scale model... but also highlights that it's VERY good (you do need to look at relatively minute details to tell).
My Wife And I model Ho And N Scale And We Are Proud of Both And We Will Never Give Up or Ho And N Scale.
The hobo union approves of this video.😊😊
The N scale version looks phenomenal, what is the MSRP for the N scale Loco's?
It looks like they didnt paint the trucks on the n scale.
The HO locomotive is beautiful but I love the N Scale locomotive more because there is more room for a layout in the smaller scale. N Scale details are getting better and better with each passing year. If I had the money and the space, and I really wanted trains that look exactly like the real thing, I’d go for O scale.
All in one package kinda thing
N scale has really come a long way, awesome models.
