appreciate the video but definitely do NOT change the frame rate to 24 FPS if you don't want the footage to slow down. skateboarding, motorcycles, sports of any kind it'll look slow & lose energy in the shot. then you'll have to go back and redo your entire edit after realizing it doesn't look good. Which i'm doing now...
The phone app is not precise. The best compromise between easy and hard is using InstaStudio or GoPro Viewer on a PC/Mac. And if you don't do a lot of 360 reframing you wont forget all the Premiere steps, too.
Thanks for the video. This looks like a far better workflow than processing the 360 video first. I downloaded and installed it, dragged the effect onto my proxy clip, but I cannot get the GoPro FX Reframe plugin to work. When I adjust the sliders nothing happens to the video. I am left with a really slow workflow of adjusting everything in Insta 360 first, rendering it and then exporting to Premiere Pro to edit with clips from other cameras. This is not ideal, obviously. I was hoping this would work. Ideas anyone? (My laptop is fairly high spec - 64GB of RAM, 8 cores - 2.3GHz i7, GPU is GeForce RTX 2060)
Thanks for producing this as it seems Premiere is the best 360 editing platform. However perhaps it is out of date as It would not work for me with current Feb 2023 Premiere/fx plug-in. When I drop the effect onto the clip it does not respond to remove distortion etc. Effect controls show up but do not work. I only dropped one of the pair of clips into timeline as I understood they would associate. Any suggestions on this ? thank you
Can you mix & match video footage with 360 video on timeline? If so, what would happen to 360 video if your sequence is set to Full HD 60fos and drop 360 video in with other non 360 conventional 60fps video clips? Thanks!
2:10 (go)pro tip: Put your hand down on the side of the doorframe as if you are resting your hand normally vs holding your arm out like that makes it clearly look like youre holding the selfie stick
I have had many 360 cameras and finally set on ONE X2 by Insta360 have two, since then have also got 4 x 8K Qoocams to test out, which allows Reframing at UHD, better than 1080, so I can now get Pro quality 4K reframed exports. Looking at my ONE X2 I am now seeing terrible noise in shadowy areas, never had this bad before, any ideas if my settings are bad ? i normally set EV to -0.7 to preserve highlight but the material is so noisy as unusable. Driving me nuts, help ?
In this tutorial I show you my workflow in detail! How I shoot, import, edit, reframe and export my videos, to get the highest quality. I invested a lot of time and energy and I hope it helps you to improve your 360-video skills. ✊
Thanks for the video but proxies generation doesn't works properly with INSV files, because of "source settings" does not acting over the MP4 proxy file (will only work over INSV proxy files). So the only solution to this is use de LRV files that the cams generate, and use/attach them as proxies. SO REMEMBER GUYS!! Don't delete LRV files!! If you are going to work with INSV files directly, they are your besties 😂✌
Thanks for posting this. Using "Attach Proxies" and the LRV files is solving a problem I have with the Insta360 Go 2 camera in "Pro Video" mode. I've been unable to get Adobe Media Encoder to create proxies with 1:1 aspect ratio (it changes it to 16:9). For your problem, this video might help, th-cam.com/video/KEcVhfg7chQ/w-d-xo.html
Wow. That's a phenomenal idea. I generate proxies but it takes ages. Using the LRVs is inspired! Is the audio/timings exactly the same? So there is no risk of being out of sync with the LRVs as proxies instead of creating actual proxies from the full size file?
Hello, I have a problem after exporting the file, the movie is ready but in the form of 360 it means that the viewer can rotate the movie on TH-cam, not what I marked in PR. I have everything marked as in your video
I search for this answer too. So I understood that it is not possible to do Reframing with output 360 videos. Reframing is only to do out of 360° videos a normal videos.
Premiere Pro 22.2 on a Mac won't even load after the GoPro FX Reframe plugin is installed. GoPro needs to catch up. Are there any other plug ins available that are compatible with the latest version of Premiere?
Hey Guru! Tutorial is great! Thank u! Do u know if the adobe media coder works with premier pro 2020 version? I am using 2020 version and it keeps telling me to install encoder when i try the proxy file part part ur video. I have already installed the encoder. So super strange.....
Thank you, I love your videos :) was it you that made a video of a fake drone shot where you removed the person in after effects? if it was you do you have the link please? thank you :)
Thank you so much for showing your workaround! I just came home from a trip and have a lot of 360 footage, but the quality isn't the same as yours :-( Gonna try again with your workflow :-)
That was an excellent video, thank you!! I have a question though: when you created a new Sequence, why did you select a 1080 preset and then change it to 4K? Why not start with a 4K preset? Also, if I'm rendering my finished video at 1080, what Zoom level (in the GoPro plugin) will result in being too magnified resulted in less detail? In other words, how much can I zoom in on the 360 footage before the crop ends up being smaller than 1080 resolution?
Hi, I'm an Insta360 One X2 user. I want to ask, why is the 360/VR rendering of premiere pro 2020 or insta360 studio 2022 blurry on the back side (rear camera), but when previewed before rendering the results look sharp on both front and back sides?
I just posted my first insta 360 x3 video on my channel after following your tips, I has to start over at 30 frames per sec because it would export correctly with other 24 fps video. The camera picked up all kinds of distortion on the lens in bright light. I uploaded a comparison video with DJI pocket 2, aso the audio was just pretty average on the insta 360, I am going to use a Tascam unit next time. The reframe shots were cool though!
hello. I am using 360 1 inch, While using the lens guard... When the light is strong, the shape of the lens guard is occasionally recorded on the screen. Is there a way to remove it?
Hi! Great video! I'm habing some issues when postprocessing the insta x2 footage in premiere with GoPro reframe fx, it seems like it really lowers the quality! Do you have any idea what could be happening? I love the camera, and your videos are a great inspiration on how to use it to the max! Thank you
Very usefull but after using that camera for almost 2 years I finally realized lack of versatility of it. I should have waited a little bit more and buy a more expensive camera with less frustratring results. You had some really cool results tho
Hey, Dude! Amazing tutorial! Congrats! By the way... do you have any original Insta360 footage to make available for download? Just for the purpose of study? I didn't both the Insta360 yet... but I'd like to already try this workflow. Thanks for all!
Nice video. Really making me want to try a 360 x3. I use gopros on my shoulders to film my photo shoots, but often times it's not always pointing the right way. i'm just hopping if a 360 x3 is right near my head my head will not always be in the shot.
New to 360 video here, but doing a lot of the same research as you. The shoulder mount is pretty common. The biggest question is going to be exactly how you mount it. As a general point, though, a 360 camera will be able to get the exact same framing as a gopro and more. So if you are able to get the framing you want with a gopro, you will be able to get it with the X3 (unless your setup is so specific that the different form factors make it impossible). There are plenty of examples online like this one: th-cam.com/video/9tP-KU5IRsQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi. GREAT videos!!! I, too, have an Insta360 OneX and a OneR. And, I also have Adobe Creative Kit. However, whenever I try to create my videos for uploading, the end result always seems to be that the video does not allow for manipulation by the viewer. In other words, when I watch YOUR video (of the waterfall, for example), I'm able to use my cursor to move around. Do you have a tutorial or a cheatsheet which gives a step-by-step on how to create such a video that allows interaction by the viewer? Many thanks!!!
Hi .. may be a stupid question .. what is the benefit of reducing framerate from 30 to 24 .. (i am on quite powerfull machine so I dont need even proxy for 5.7k equirec material for fluent editing) ..
You make me feeling in love with insta 360 cause i love editing video by my self, and it would be so interesting to add spice to my mountain biking videos , but i am not sure to understand if i can get the results you show ed if ia use filmora as editing program
Absolutely amazingly clear and concise and has helped me a lot. Thanks for this. However, when I change the framerate to 24fps I get a jerky export and the only way to cure this is to export at 30fps. What am I doing wrong?
This is the updated version: th-cam.com/video/yDod5TlK7zQ/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sharing 👍
Is stopping the encoding process still necessary if it is you prefer to keep footage at the original 30fps?

what FPS did you use to shot it? 4k 60fps?
Dialogue is filmed in 24/30fps
Action/stunts 60 or higher fps
Great video! Thanks!
Nice video! But can you get the same results by using just the Insta360 app?
I too, would like to know the answer to this question.
Similar results, but no as professional. But I will do a App tutorial in the future 😉

Got to the point of installing the GoPro FX Reframe plugin. Premier can't find it in search, even after a restart of the program.
Great video
This video editing class is very good!!
Great tips!
Now that the plug-in has a 3rd stabilization option (Optical Flow), do you still turn them all off in Source settings?
Thanks. Nicely done.
Amazing! Thank you!
Excellent!
thanks , very useful video
Thanks for making it so easy to understand. Subscribed.
This is a fantastic tutorial man. Very detailed and professional.
Thank you for tutorial: it's clear, to the point, helpful, and has many good tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Best 360 editing video I've seen so far!

Its not working for me either. I have pro 2022 and it doesn't appear to stitch the videos and doesn't allow me to reframe the footage.
YOU'RE A FREAKING BOSS THANKS A MILLION
Speeding down the frame rate will also make the audio sound slower?
Well done showing how the keyframes work! Thanks!
very great tutorial, I learned a lot . thank you a lot !

Great video.
Thank you for the tutorial. Amazing video for 360 camera beginners.

If you have more than 2 videos to edit into 1 final file, do I create proxy for all of them before continue the reframing process? Thanks
I always put this video on when I am struggling to fall asleep. Works like a charm.
¡Muchas gracias! Thank you so much!

Please put link to GoPro plugin.
Great tutorial, thank you!
Thank you
This one helps a lot. Thank you.
Awsome
i recommend if you are exporting 4k 30fps footage for youtube set bitrate to vbr 1 60mbps thats youtube recommendation

yet you do not supply the most important part. uploading to youtube and keep the quality ?
Just upload the exported video...this is my workflow 👍

warp stabilizer usually does the trick but might crop/zoom in the footage as part of the software behind it.

You can use 30fps also of course. 24fps it a little bit slower and smoother.
Now I can make my own EVIL DEAD movie!
In Premiere it's skipping/buggy on my 2021 laptop, but in Insta Studio is perfectly fluent.
do i understand correctly if i render a video to 25 fps then i can record insta360 at 30 fps and slow it down to 25 ?
Yes. You can record at 30. He suggest slowing it to 24 fps in Premiere for a smoother look. Someone commented that was subject dependent.
But…can the audience click-and-drag to turn the video to look around or is this result just a video?
