Thank you for posting this Ben; I'm about to have a Heart Transplant and wanted to document my journey during the process and Life with a New Heart afterwards... I'm very new to this and was feeling overwhelmed when I unboxed my Insta360 x4 yesterday, thinking I would need a college degree in photography, cinema, and editing 😅 Your video was very detailed, easy to understand, and helped me reframe my 1st video and export it, so I won't need that degree after all 😆🤣😂 Thank you again, you've earned a new subscriber in me.
Ben, thank you. Three questions: 1. Does this editing change the raw file on the SD card (I'd like to preserve the raw)? 2. For TH-cam, what's the best framerate? 3. Is the finished export still a 360 video (can I swipe my screen and see other directions)? Thanks
This is a fantastic tutorial, thanks so much. But how to I get two (or more) clips out of the one piece of footage? When I use the trim start and finish, it deletes all of the parts of the video to either side. Do I have to start a project and keep importing the same raw footage and cutting the clip I want, and then doing that again and again?
Did you ever figure this out, I don't want to delete the whole thing, I just want a small portion of what I recorded, or to cut the video down into smaller bits but nothing on the editor lets me do that
Hi Ben, Great video as usual. Can you advise how to remove the audio track, or just mute it for export, in the "media" tab since the "project" tab doesn't allow the gps stats display, it is on a 360 video export so would like to remove the sound before the export.
Hi Ben, Thanks for doing this. Could you look into how to get the stats to display when exporting as 360 video, or is that not possible. Also when exported and uploaded to you tube the 360 video do allow zoom in and out, but when played in "VLC" the same clip does zoom in and out? thanks again for your great videos.
I've had a Insta360 x3 for over a year now, and am only just now learning how to use it properly with insta360 studio. This video was really great! Do you have any recommendations for tools like Loupedeck that could make editing more efficient, as well? Any plans to create those types of videos?
Thank You! I have a question: I have AcePro 2. I don't have a camera that uses 360 degrees. In that case, do you still think it's worthwhile to use Insta360 Studio? Or would my iMovie be just as good?
Nice tutorial. One question here: Is there any way to sort the file list? Can't find "sort by name" in the menu (in media mode). If there is an option to seperate insv/insp and also sort by name, it will be great.
I agree with all the comments that mention we need app features in studio and we need iPad version of studio. Also we need a cloud that you can use ! Come on Ben … too many sponsored videos where insta360 isn’t been fairly criticised anymore so they simply are not improving.
Hi I was wondering why you have more buttons than I do. I just downloaded insta360 Today, so it is up to date. on your far right. in Media you have 6 icons, I have 3. no logos, no camera with wiggle lines, and what ever is under the play looking button. the cloud icon. just weird bunch of things I do not have. do you have to enable something?
Nice video. Do you ever recommend using the remove grain option on exports? I film stationary indoor climbing videos and sometimes the lighting isn't the best so it can get a little noise at times. I pretty much always click remove grain, but is that a mistake?
Do you have any thoughts on using Openshot as an editor? Do you need to reframe if you want the video to be 360? Let the viewer on TH-cam move the mouse around to see 360 of the video? If you add Keyframes, does this prevent users from moving their mouse to view other portions of the 360 video?
Awsome tutorial! Just what I've been looking for for the Insta360 Studio!! Side note, Can I use Final Cut Pro X to additionally edit videos exported from Insta360 Studei?
Great tutorial Ben! 👍Hey, do you. have a tutorial on how to export 360 videos to TH-cam? So viewers can watch the video and drag it around to experience the 360 view?
I can't find an option for 8K export option. Am I not seeing it? Help please. If it does not have it, what are my other options? Thanks in advance! great video!
nice video i am using insta 360 x3 ... earlier i used mobile verson of 360 aap.. but studio is very difficult compare than mobile version .... and studio do not have the filter......
I tried using insta x4 8k files in Mac air M1 and it gets stuck every single time...I guess it needs more powerful cpu and GPU. Do you have any tips I can do?
I'm in a similar situation but I have a 2016 laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor and a 2gb AMD Radeon video card. So far, my videos are looking super glitchy on my laptop. What do you recommend to upgrade to?
Hi I was wondering why you have more buttons than I do. I just downloaded insta360 yesterday, so it is up to date. on your far right. in Media you have 6 icons, I have 3. no logos, no camera with wiggle lines.Could it be because I use pc instead of mac?
although there's features aplenty, yet to remove a monopod (or me), it still requires another app, like Touch Retouch or similar,. - How long until Insta finally addresses that basic editing function is anyone's guess..
Hi Ben, the zoom in and out does not work for me. The magnifying glass only speeds up the speed for me and Insta 360 footage. How do you get the zoom to stay put? I can zoom in with my mouse, but then it automatically unzoom and doesn’t stay in the footage. Thank you!
Awesome video has always Ben. Awhile ago I updated to a Microsoft surface pro 11. It runs on arm processors, So unfortunately I am unable to use either of my cameras with desktop studio. Hope they see this and commit deporting the software to arm devices.
So i was at my puppy's training graduation last week and just left my camera running. Thought I'd just take the clips i need out. So i keep using the in and out markers and export them.
Further to my comment yesterday, do you have a tutorial on file management? Over the last day I've discovered: (1) the editing software only seems to work if I am using the file direct from the SD card; if I download to file to my computer, the software goes into a beach-ball-spin-of-doom and won't load (it was 20 minutes long - lesson learnt - film much shorter clips); (2) yesterday when I played with one file, and trimmed it, when I went back to it today (on the SD card) it was still trimmed and I had to widen it back out, which might have given me a clue to my problem of getting take multiple clips from the same file - after I've exported the trimmed/key-framed clip, I just drag and drop the file down into the timeline again and start on trimming my next clip.
Ben, how do you easily make several short clips out of one long recording?? I put my 360 in a rod holder on a boat when I go fishing and it may run for an hour and a half or two hours recording everything around me and I only want let’s say 51 minute clips out of that hour and a half recording.
Insta removed feature to cut video and in final project doesnt want to get cuted clips, only full lenght or one cuted clip from original shot, i have opened claim on insta 6month ago This feature was in past soft, problem isif you created new project and you have to add all video sequeces plus edit and it is too hard to continue with last video sequences edit on the end of project
Please Help!!!! I can get pass opening videos. After I open them and click the play button, the video drags. It take about ten seconds before I get to the next second frame. What could be wrong? Settings? SD card? Resolution too high for my computer? I am frustratingly lost.
That’s the biggest project I’ve ever heard of. I can see why it would perform slowly - especially if you’re not using a computer with super high specs. Don’t forget - 5.7k and 8K is extremely high resolution and would cause any computer to struggle when editing such a large project.
@BenClaremont No I don't think so. Only when I import it on the insta360 studio on my pc it will be in slow motion. if i play the video from my phone is it fine

I mostly use their app on the iPhone to do my editing, but I need to give the desktop app another go. Great tutorial Ben, and thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much

Great Video! Do you recommend choosing the settings as Standard Video or LOG in the Insta360 camera?
just got an X4 and this really helped me get started with the sw.
Nice video Ben!
I practice editing now for the first time and its amazing

Another great tutorial from you Ben. Take a bow and a BIG thumbs 👍up. Cheers
Many thanks Kym!
Thanks.
Good reminder for me.
This is the most effective educational video I have seen about this software. Thank you for the excellent instructions and explanations!
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the video. But how do you edit a project (multiple files) from the cloud? Do you have to export each file before adding them to a project?
Thanks for this great editing. Amazing
Hi Ben if you film with the single lens is the editing easy?
I agree with all the comments that mention we need app features in studio and we need iPad version of studio. Also we need a cloud that you can use !

Great video. I'm looking for a link to a video "How to edit 360s in Final Cut Pro".

Excellent tutorial video. Clear instructions at a good pace.
Thanks, this was exactly what I needed!
excellent video, tks! gopro / capcut / insta ....need them all!
nice video i am using insta 360 x3 ... earlier i used mobile verson of 360 aap.. but studio is very difficult compare than mobile version .... and studio do not have the filter......
You export 8k 30fps videos with these settings? Some reason these exported videos do not work on my Samsung s24 ultra
Great overview. Would it be great doing the full 360 edit process in Insta360! Maybe one day.
Cheers Michael, yeah I think they’ll definitely add it… eventually 😅
For some reason my pc doesn’t have the key frame button but on my iPad and phone does. Any help ?
Thanks, excellent video...
Excellent video. The Christmas Tree spin around edit would be great.
What best app is to use for downloading your own music with the 360 studio? Many thanks.
This was a great video and super helpful thank you
sir, is there a 'proxy' settings in insta 360 studio?
thank you for the clear and to the point breakdown
I still really need studio to have a save option....sigh.........
I tried using insta x4 8k files in Mac air M1 and it gets stuck every single time...I guess it needs more powerful cpu and GPU.

can i import dji action 5 pro into insta360 studio?

I'm using in my plane cockpit for 360 views. The view "back" towards the pilots is very dark and unusable ? suggestions ? love the videos

The app seems so much easier. The app features need to be transferred to the desktop.
But how do I do this on the mobile app?
So what if you do not record in slow motion, and you'd like to add that as it is not automatically in the studio?
Yes you can - it just won’t be as smooth as if you’d shot in slow motion 👍🏻
Insta removed feature to cut video and in final project doesnt want to get cuted clips, only full lenght or one cuted clip from original shot, i have opened claim on insta 6month ago

I've got a insta 360 GO 2 and I can't seem to zoom in or out in the studio. Any idea why?
Because it’s not a 360 camera. This workflow is only for 360 videos.
@@BenClaremont Ive found a way around this by going into media processing and clicking on custom, works really well
I wish the availability of studio version for an ipad😢😢
You can just use the Insta360 mobile app - they do exactly the same thing
I think the Insta360 Studio needs a lot of work. It runs very jerky and I rendered a 1.5 hour keyframed video and it took 20 hours to finish.
That’s the biggest project I’ve ever heard of. I can see why it would perform slowly - especially if you’re not using a computer with super high specs. Don’t forget - 5.7k and 8K is extremely high resolution and would cause any computer to struggle when editing such a large project.
@@BenClaremont Yeah I will definatly not do that again. LoL
15min 4k 30frame rate on Sony VI 50min
What resolution would you recommend please? 4k TIA@@BenClaremont
Upgrading my computer was a game changer
What kind og voice?
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
why does my video play in slow motion? Does anyone have a similar problem?
Did you film it in slow motion?
@BenClaremont No I don't think so. Only when I import it on the insta360 studio on my pc it will be in slow motion. if i play the video from my phone is it fine
@ maybe you’re on a slow computer? Sorry can’t really help as it could be so many things. Just keep trying.
@BenClaremont it is a brand new laptop with I7 processors and 32 GB ram😅 I really hope it's not the computer. haha, thanks. I will keep trying
Just no idea how to trim off non-wanted part in a single clip
Hi! Sent you a collab email from Gologin - hope to hear back!

Very difficult app to use, not for beginners for sure, I'm about to give up.
