- New construction upgrades can get really expensive. The design center will have every upgrade you can imagine, therefore I wanted to share my experience with you guys as well as some tips!!! In todays video I'm sharing pretty much everything we upgraded as well as what we paid.

Your video was awesome!!! There's a bunch of videos telling you what to upgrade and not, but they never give pricing. This is really going to help my wife and I be better prepared for the design center. Its exactly what I was looking for thank you!!!

This is very informative! I am in the process of building my home and i decided to limit my design upgrades to electrical and structural. I also upgraded my floors to hardwood and extended my patio. Your home is beautiful looking forward to decor!

Hi Ashley, love your video. I’m about to buy a house. After looking at several houses I know that I will definitely have to do some upgrades to get exactly what I want. Listening to your video has given me somewhat of an idea of what some of these renovations will cost.

Nice video and good tips! I agree, if you're building, it's best to do the upgraded light fixtures in the two-story foyer or cathedral ceiling or any room with very high ceilings. For instance, my wife and I paid 500.00 to replace the light fixture in our two-story foyer after we purchased our home a few years ago. The costs did not include the light fixture, which was of equal value, so we were out about 1k.
Wowww, Yelp contractors can get very pricey
Wow... that beautiful front door for an additional $450 ?. My builder must be tripping because he wanted $3100 for the exact same door, yes you read me correctly. A lot of my builder's upgrades are ridiculously expensive, but thank God we were given some allowance to spend at the design center. Your house is beautiful.

My builder only allowed one 3.5 hour visit! I felt rushed. Same thing, I cannot make changes without a hefty fee. I think I spent way more than I needed to.
Love this video! So very informative and detailed. I love black and the modern feel of it. I know you mentioned the pricing for the floors. Would you be able to give the square footage of those rooms? What was the name of the floors?
Hi Jeffrey, I don’t know the specifics of the square footage of all our rooms but I’ll look back a paperwork and let you know. Our master bedroom is super large, way larger than normal we have a king and still have plenty of room for an entire living area space. I’ll get the name of the floors foe you, but I’m pretty sure I said the name in my upgrades video. Thanks so much for supporting my Channel

thanks or sharing, the pricing that you are describing seems reasonable. Not sure what state you are in, but looking at our option sheet for our new build seems way higher and very limited options. Im in the mid-atlantic region. your home looks wonderful

Kenneth, I’m with you. I’m in Florida and my builder was limited with options. Plus they taxed for EVERYTHING!
So I am glad you covered this, my builder has a $6K upgrade cap, which means anything over this amount is payable 15days after I make my initial selection. Girl this is really a challenge because there were certain choices I refused to sacrifice. I didn't go with can lights for my master bedroom. Great video. New Subbie here😊😊

I decided to buy a model home just to avoid the temptation of over upgrading. I’m spending more on my house and my neighbors, but I already know that.
I'm glad that my builder offered alot of things that people upgraded. Now I see why people paid so much. The builder charged for everything.

We just got the upgrade for a black sink. How do you like it does it stain easy and clean up easy? What’s your opinion on the black sink
I absolutely love it! No stains and it cleans up easy, and looks really good!

No they did not!
We did however have to put a portion down for our structural upgrades but not the design center upgrades

I just love, love how you went straight to your price $$$ upgrades.... once again, fabulous video. This video is very informative. I believe your gallery design studio is way overpriced... I think you paid too much for your kitchen. Just my opinion.

No, just traditional VA Loan
That’s crazy you got two days!! My fiancé and I only got 4 hours!
We just had our first design studio online meeting last night which was 3hrs on the dot! Our in person meeting is in 2 weeks and it’s also 3hrs. BUT everything is an upgrade!!!

Which home inspection company did you hire? & what was your experience with them?
LoneStar (San Antonio) great experience, no complaints we hired them to inspect from start too finish (foundation to closing) they came out 3 times for major events to inspect (foundation, drywall and electrical, and closing) we spent about 1,100

Wow… commenting in 2023 and just flabbergasted as how expensive our upgrades here in Arizona inflation and all in the new construction house we are building. I have almost the same choices you made and we’re looking at 140k…. Have you had appraisal issues ( appraisal value is lower than purchase price )? Did you have to put in more cash to fill the gap for tge appraisal?
No we didn’t have any appraisal issues, we actually walked into the house with about 90K of equity

All the prices you are quoting in this video are 65% less than what my builder is quoting.
Fire place for $1750? ours quoted $3800 without tiles.
Same with many other prices you quoted in the video. Super jealous.
