I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I run the 10x42 Vortex diamondback binos so I should have gotten the small harness, but I got the large because I didn’t feel like waiting for them to restock. The larges are 1.5” taller so I added my old Army fleece cap to the bottom of the harness and the binos rode just fine. I added a Ferro Concepts Molle Admin pouch off my plate carrier to one side to stow my headlamp and rangefinder. I got the hand warmer for these quite chilly Idaho mountains and the hand warmer doesn’t disappoint lol Conditions were 15-20F with some scattered snow showers accompanied by 30mph gusts and it didn’t even faze through the hand warmer. Plus the material on the inside is super warm! I did have a similar issue with the flap like you did, but I like to ride with the top down so it’s not a big deal to me lol
I bought the Recon specifically because of the MOLLE panels and worry about flop from all other harnesses I looked at. My only complaint is that it needs a stronger closure magnet to prevent the binos from falling out of held upside down. Other than that it’s great.
I have the Kuiu Bino harness with a rangefinder pouch and phones case on the sides it’s awesome you should try it it does not have a pocket on the front but there is no need for one
Thanks for the review. Couple of questions: 1. What are the external dimensions of the main bino case? Eberlestock lists the internal dimensions, but curious on the external. 2. Can you adjust the length of the internal tethers? Other systems I have tried pull the binoculars down when I glass and was wondering if you could adjust the length to avoid this. 3. How secure is the lid when closed? If you place your binos in the case, turn the case upside down and shake it (without wearing the case) does the lid open up? Other systems I have tried tend to open and my binoculars fall out when I move them around after taking the case off. 4. Is there magnetic closure when the case is in "sport mode?" My bino magnet us fine. The range finder pouch magnet sucks.

I have heard really good things about the KUIU
I find the locket in the front is great for carrying your license and tags, lens wipes, small knife, etc.
