Good head-to-head comparison. Bunch of SOCP bags floating around at work but I like the quick access of the 945. Hadn't seen it before your video. Thanks!
Nice summary. I have been going down the same rabbit hole. Have not tried the 945 bag yet. The Vertx was so close to being perfect for me but its lack of structure was a killer along with the front phone pouch. Marsupial has a nice bag for sub compacts. I just received a bag from Tight Chutes which so far has the best craftsmanship of all of them. Unfortunately I got the smallest size which works great for the P365X Macro but not my Staccato CS which is my preferred EDC. Again, great video, thanks for sharing!
Great review, especially comparing side by side a few others. Will add: those rear two attachments for the waist strap that you're not necessarily into are 100% awesome for those like me. Walking, light jog, not necessary. But the hard core back country MTB, rock climbing, Nordic, just really bouncing, etc., it's actually really nice when you don't need a full backpack, want you're EDC with you and now it's not bouncing all over the place. Keep up the great reviews.
thank you. Unlike holsters I want to get a bunch of these. I think i will get the 945 for my running in the morning with 43X and once the new version of 43x that support light (non MOS) comes out I will get that holster so I can run a light. I want something I use for running exclusive. I have a bigger one for hiking by Helikon and a large one from HillPeople for Alaska chest rig.
I would suggest seeing it up, and practicing, with the pull tab on the weak side. I would think it will speed up your draw. I'm no professional but that's what I would try to get closer to speeds of iwb.
I have used fanny packs as my everyday purse for years now. I've just started looking into carry bags. I like the 945 but wish the front pocket was more the size like the main pocket. Big enough to hold a thicker wallet, checkbook, battery pack, charger cable, etc.
The 945 Industry is an amazing tote, I was looking all over for something to use with different fits. Also, don't care where it was made for the most part, as long as it works.
I use the SOCP. The floppy loop material in the gun compartment is an easy fix. I use a Viktos Universal gun sleeve with an MR920 (glock19), and it works just fine. I wish these companies would be more truthful on their capacity claims. You aren't fitting a full-size G17 with a wallet, keys, etc.
I ordered the Vertx. But it was the everyday carry one. Blends in more. Looks like the LuLu Lemon one. Very flimsy, the clip was horrible. Could EASILY come undone accidentally. And as a CCW. You are responsible for that. Too many “what ifs” I ordered the 945 Industries. It is a good bit more expensive. But does come with a custom kydex holster. Which is actually one of my favorite parts. Most “Velcro holsters” are very basic. Seems they just manufacture a flat back holster and glue Velcro to it. It works. But can be finicky to draw. The 945 holster is a full kydex holster with a flap of Velcro bolted to the holster (doesn’t interfere with the firearm) but allows a slight lift up on the holster to allow a MUCH more secure purchase on the firearm. Again, it isn’t cheap. But it’s definitely not made as cheaply as the Vertx. Plus nearly every gun reviewer on YT has a 10% off code. As well as a generous Military Discount.
You mention running shorts (assuming you run) how does the 945 feel when running? (aka does it start to slide around/shift down, or bang against your body, etc...) I plan to use some sort of off body (sling bag?) carry when running. Thanks and love the review vids.
I hate the SOCP for the flop! 😂 It works better as a fanny pack than it does a cross body. I got just the holster from 945 and use that in the SOCP and another bag I have, and it works much better than what came with the vertex pack.
Awesome comparisons bro👌🏽💯 just wondering with the 945 Ind. bag, are you able to sling it to any shoulder and still be able to draw your firearm from either hand? Just wondering cuz I usually wear my shoulder bags on my left side. But I noticed everyone doing reviews on this bag, it’s alway slung over the right shoulder for right handed shooters. Thank you in advance for any feedback.
GREAT review and you have a new subscriber. I was very interested in the 945 and for the same reasons you like it best. How would you rate the 945 against the Eberlestock Bando and Bando XL?
@1funcar I have the Bando and it is well made. It will not draw anywhere near the speed of the 945. I now use my Bando for my stethescope and trauma sheers when I work ambulance and hospital shifts.

The back panel- the floppy one where the gun goes- seems to be a pocket on the current version. So no, problem not solved. Also who in their right mind puts a buckle for a bag, made to carry a gun, on the back? Same goes for the 924378. With a plastic buckle, instead of $5 cobra buckle- sold on Temu- it has about the same retention as an OWB holster. None of these bags have a cable in the strap but a $80 Pacsafe, with way more expensive parts attached to it, does. Simply put, there is no bag that meets the basic requirements a CCW bag should have. They are all lacking.
Velcro is a brand name for the system of "hook and loop" attachment. So just call it hook and loop if you don't want to say Velcro as it is a copyrighted name, like Kleenex, Q-Tip, or Xerox.
Well, let's break it down... the bag is better quality. Has a better strap, and the back is sown in. Comes with a holster. There you go. A good velcro holster is between 50 and 80$ so that can be added to the vertx. What can't be added is the easy and speed of opening and the sewn on back. That is a huge deal. I have both and the vertx is ok but just ok. The 945 is so much more comfortable it's not funny. On top of that the extra few seconds it takes to draw the gun is worth more money. Hopefully you have both so your not just talking out your ass. I have a feeling your just saying shit to say it...

I spent a bunch of money to find an off body carry solution The 945 bag is almost apples to apples the 5.11 LV6. The vertx Socp is made for 43x sized guns and smaller. The LV6 is more discreet then all of these. What works for me is to use a holster system that goes in any bag like what crossbreed offers. Systems like this can go in any of the slings you see the metrosexuals carry, or as my wife calls them murses.
