Forgiveness sets you Free. The Amazing part is Jesus helps you also forget.
If it came from Parents look at how they were raised, they didn’t know better and didn’t try to be better,
If it was trauma someone else inflicted, set them free. God will handle them. Trust that.

I didn't know my traumatic upbringing wasn't normal until high school. I never talked about it to anyone except my siblings because we thought how we were being raised was normal. Not until I met one of my best friends and we exchanged childhood stories. She cried and asked how I was happy and functioning like an average teen. That's when I realized my reality was vastly different than my peers. Once the veil was off my eyes it just opened so much pain. Sometimes I wished I didn't come to that realization. I was happy in the dark. When I became a wife then a mother that changed everything. I'm forever grateful to have that veil ripped from me. I can raise a beautiful, faithful, loving, functional family. 💜 to all those who have been there you're not alone

      I can identify!
I thought everyone had alcoholic mothers, heavy handed fathers, had to endured sa, had alcoholic & drug addicts for siblings🤯
At 13, while hiding in a dark closet under clothes I swore to myself that I would NEVER do that to my kids!!!
It took a fair amount of counseling, the Lord above, marrying a good & kind man, having 4 kids & teaching them ourselves to fully help break the cycle….
I’m a happy loving person who forgave my abusers, they can never live ‘rent free’ in my mind!
We live across the country from my 3 siblings, will never ever see them again!
Our kids are happy healthy & loving solid adults ❤️
Hubby & I are married 43 years, and still like each other😉
Though I like wine, I hold myself to a super tight standard and my kids have never seen me drunk!
In braking the cycle…Easy? Not so much at times to do so, but WORTH IT … AND…to find I LOVE MYSELF (also a pretty cool person I am 🤩)

It took the Holy Spirit in me to enable me to forgive my dad. My 3 year old granddaughter was sleeping beside me and I picked up her tiny, sweet, innocent little hand. The thought came to me that my dad had a hand like that once. And I realized that he too had gone through some awful things. Somehow that thought released me from all my hatred, bitterness and unforgiveness. I became a Christian at the age of 62. My brother had prayed for over 40 years for me!! God is mighty to save. I think the reason so many people struggle with forgiveness is because they don't understand the true definition of it. Victor, you defined it beautifully. It doesn't mean you're letting the person who hurt you off the hook. It simply means your letting them off YOUR hook and putting them on GODS hook. Forgiveness is not an emotion. It's a decision. So you don't have to all of a sudden trust that person or be besties with them. When i heard it explained to me this way it made all the difference.

    • @TipTop-ze3tn
      @TipTop-ze3tn ปีที่แล้ว +4

Same as how most people don't understand how God is able to forgive sinners... that they go on Jesus' "hook" as in Jesus was set fourth by God to be the "propitiation" (took the wrath in our place) for our sins.

He really forgave his father when he prayed for him and then told him he loved him. God had to get him to see his father's soul was going to spend eternity in hell. That makes you love people enough to share the gospel with them even when they don't really want to hear it.
      ‭‭1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV‬‬
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      ‭‭Romans 3:22-26 KJV‬‬
even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: [23] for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [25] whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [26] to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
      ‭‭Romans 6:23 KJV‬‬
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Please admit to God that you've sinned against Him and then place your faith in the blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin today.
      God bless you!

This is my type of people who inspires me and continues to remind me I am more than what has happened to me. Yes, no matter what trauma one has endured, it can be overcome. Trauma is not an excuse to harm another. No one need to hurt another because they’ve been harmed, if anything, learn to not hurt another by forgiving, trusting, and loving another. He's so right about the forgiveness part. I've been shocked at what the Holy Spirit has allowed me to do. Never thought in a million years I could be a care taker for the very person who allowed so much harm to come to me as a child. Best spiritual experience of my life and probably hers as well, because she was so sorry, but at the end she knew all was well. Very brave of him to tell his story.

Shawn i appreciate you using your platform to make awareness and bring light to a subject most people can’t comprehend or choose not to comprehend. People think things like this only happen in third world countries. We can’t just suppress and hide the evil that is everywhere. My wife has gone through intense childhood trauma and I have grown as a person through her. Everything this guest talks about is now so real to me. Being in love with someone who has suffered trauma like this isn’t easy but the depth in life that she has brought me is life changing. I hope this type of content can continue to reach every demographic of people. To let them know they’re not alone and that there is good in all of us if we choose. We can be loved and be the end of generational abuse.

Thank you so much - both of you - for this show! I came from an extremely abusive father in every way, shape and form. It wasn't until after I had my son 16 years ago, that I was truly able to heal all that pain I had carried for 35 plus years. I never gave it a thought that not only was I the father I never had, but that concurrently, I was "changing the trajectory of my own bloodline". When you said those words Shawn, I had to stop the video cause tears started running down my face (and I rarely ever cry). God bless you both. At 40+ years old was the first time I called my dad on the phone and told him "I Love You"-that was a long story but it has helped so many since giving that testimony to free others with forgiveness is as powerful as it gets. I felt free and happy but then My dad came to where I lived and my whole family came to forgiveness and now I know what the Love of God and Family actually meant. And I touched forgiveness at its core, As tears strike my shirt I thank you for sharing your story and bringing this back to my memories.

Shawn- imagine if nobody ever got to tell their story, nobody would ever know what’s going on. Especially other victims.! I can’t think of another person that these men and women would open up and tell their story to. The love and compassion from all your subscribers, who are commenting across the world from all walks of life proves to me and gives me hope that strangers authentically have compassion, sympathy, empathy for what happens to someone we don’t even know. Everybody has a story to tell no matter how tragic and you bringing this to light is something that we need to hear as hard as it can be so they can learn to fight back in life and don’t play the “victim “ their whole life or repeat the offense but learn and grow from it and defeat the evil that’s always lurking! (i’m sorry I don’t know how to word what I wanna say) I guess just thank you for your channel and helping everybody out there because just look at your comments there’s a lot of love out there! When she was 5 (Aug. 2019) her father (my brother) was murdered. She saw the entire thing happen thru a glass screen door. Bullets barely missing her. If that wasn’t enough she lost her mother in Nov of 2021 in a road rage incident. She was in the back seat of the car. I hate that she has been thru all of this crap. You are so right. I'm a counselor and I promise that wouldn't be my response. We are not all bad. I cannot imagine what you have went through, but I am here if you'd ever need. Not for a fee, as someone who gets it.

The end took me out. The love God gives is amazing and beyond comprehension. I have major trauma too and I’ve felt in my heart for several years now that I won’t experience peace until I can tell my dad I understand and I forgive him. Thank you for sharing your story. It’s incredibly moving and inspiring.

What this guy described is what most of us in broken families go through unfortunately, domestic violence, trauma, and sexual abuse... and the lower your economic status is, the more likey you are to experience all three... Toss in a few more mitigating factors and the legacy is passed on to the next generation. It's time for those of us who understand this cycle of abuse to break the bonds that bind us, not only for ourselves but for our children too...

Yes socioeconomics play into his account, BUT the rich and elite do the same thing on a much higher scale. They can child traffic, love PIZZA, lure and groom minors via internet. The Lolita express snagged the movers, shakers, congressmen, actors, eugenicist, athletes, royalty, military. Our world saturated in all of it. Abuse. Violence. Fear. Sex. Some can hide it better. Just hide it better.

Wow! I’m in tears. His story about how he showed nothing but love to his demonic stepdad is extremely powerful. I love how he also said he had more love to give to his wife and children by forgiving his stepdad. God is so good. Wow! Thank you for sharing your story. It will aid in my healing and forgiving journey. God please bless and heal everyone here!!🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
