    What’s the deciding factor using heat bond vs cool glide?

    Hey brother, i was wondering if you can also make a video regarding every type of seam tape and its uses for each type of carpet. we sometimes use wrong seam tape and have issues wear the seam glue is too much for the carpet and creates hard spots under the seam, or issues where their isnt enough glue on such seam tape that creates bad bonding. thanks

    Every time I watch one of your videos I end up buying more carpet tools and I don’t do it everyday anymore. I also purchased a shirt of yours and for some reason I thought it had your logo on the back, it does not🥲 bummer! I never noticed it on the webpage.

    U don't use a seam weight??

    Usually when I do schools in commercial carpet some rooms are over 50 to 60 feet long and the rows aren’t always 100% straight, I’ll run a row on one side and trace cut on the other, with a top cutter. use seam sealer and turns out great, I’m sure you’ve had to do that before, I’ve watch a lot of your videos, but haven’t seen that yet, if you ever get a chance that would be a good video,

      I have never done that, Rose are never straight most the time even and doorway seems you have to do a little manipulating the carpet, the longer the seams the More times you have to manipulate the carpet to make it do what you want but if it is within tolerance of the manufacture you can make it work without cutting the yarns, I do know a lot of people that do it your way for sure

      @@FloorsbySouthernboys I always attempt to row cut both and join with the bows in it anyway. Normally always the manufacturer can wriggle their way out of anything being pinnned on them. I experience it a lot with the carpets I install in New Zealand. I noticed with a lot of American products you have to cut them from the back anyway before you do any join. Seamer down helps for joining with bows in carpet. As long as you have a power stretcher you can still join and stretch almost any carpet with a bow in it imo.

    Once again, make seams over board,or on a solid surface....

    So does the seal peel up if you pull up on one side?? like you are tearing paper

  • @carlk2193

    That's all fine and dandy, when your cutting in the middle of a piece. But it does not work so well at the edges where the tension is different causing the rows to be woven all over the place and you are forced fo side cut one of the pieces. We call this carpet poop loop

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like what you call it😂😂, It can be row cut by the edges it just takes a little more time, that’s the only way i will do it

  • @jimorfanelli7671

    Yea but how bout a 50 foot run will that row runner keep it straight on both carpet sides

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only as straight as the carpet is, which usually is not very straight but it’s only Carpet you can definitely manipulate it and make it do what you want to, you can pull it in and push it out to make it perfect I have done it for years

    ruben what would happen if you put seam sealer in the slot of the iron in process

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would not get smashed into the Cut edge of the carpet good enough to pass inspection, it cannot just be on the edge it has to be pressed into the back of it that’s why I did the pinch method when I pushed it in, If it is not pushed into the backing it will fail inspection even if it is on the cut edge
