    Very good video. As a handy man I’ve taken on many project because of people like you who teach and show us how to do things right the first time. I started my painting business in 2009. And there was always other things that needed to get done in the house. Before painting. So I decided to learn how to do anything that a house needs. For two reason. The time factor. Waiting on other people to get stuff done. 2. Get as much of the dollar out of that house as you can. 3. I know what’s been done. And no surprises as the job moves on. Keeps me working. My motto is. From the crawl space to the roof and all the surrounding property. It’s amazing that I may get the job for one thing and next there are things added as the job goes on. Thanks for all the help people like you give.

I've got all the things except for the transition strips themselves, which I now know how to purchase (which is not as straightforward as I'd assumed it was, so I thank you for teaching me). I'm gonna take that TWO HUNDRED BUCKS the guy was gonna charge me (five weeks after the floor was finished and I'm STILL 🤬 chasing his A$$ down) and buy myself a li'l sumpin' sumpin'!

    • @misteress8008
      @misteress8008 ปีที่แล้ว

      same, i almost broke the transition strip (bought at HD, maybe that's part of the problem, transition strips shouldn't be that hard to get into the channel); i couldn't get the transition strip to properly sit, clipped into the channel underneath. I ended up glueing the transition to the channel and pushed it down best i could. I can't afford to purchase 7 more channels at $50 a pop, only to find out they don't clip in properly either. Probably my error, but should it really be that difficult to snap in?

    • @steveareeno65

      They sell concrete anchors that are similar to drywall anchors. You'd need a hammer drill to drill pilot holes for the anchors, then you just screw the transition base plate into the anchors.

    I used this stuff recently and the instructions say to "glue" the base strip and shims down. It was ok except one of them shifted when drying (before I put the transition strip on) and so I tried repositioning it and gluing it and it didn't go well. I ended up screwing the base strip to the sub floor. The bottom line is the "glue" method works if it stays where you want it, next time I will probably just screw it (or nail it as shown here) Thanks for the video!

    Great, thanks and question to anybody that might be able to help.
    I installed 2 on laminate flooring. One floor was slightly higher than other, maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I used the one with metal chanel which I glued to concrete floor and just pushed the transition piece. After one day of drying and removing weights, the transition pieces move a little when stepping on them.
    Was I suppossed to glue them to the metal chanel?
    Should I remove them and add glue/silicon?.
