The Daredevil spoons were a staple in every tackle box through the 50's and 60's. They came in assorted sizes and while red and white was the most common color they were offered in other colors. They worked. In the 70's more tackle and more places selling it sort of overran the Daredevils but they are still productive. Thank you for sharing your outings.

@@TranslucentJuice they are timeless. Once the trend became glamorize successful lures then make them in dozens of varieties the original Daredevils fell out of favor. I like to say many modern lures are designed to catch the angler, not the fish.

Definitely one of the best Northern Pike lures ever made. Trolling edges of northern lakes and tossing these toward the shallows in the mornings and evenings was deadly.

I must say 618, you have inspired me to go back to live bait fishing. When I was a kid I'd take off walking to one of our pools with 4 or 5 poles, zebco 33s and cane poles with grasshoppers or liver and catch tons of catfish. Then when I was 12, my papaw taught me to bass fish with an ambassador 5000 and plastic worms. I'm 60 now and have been bass fishing all this time. Now I've got all my old poles out and cleaned up. Digging up some worms and being a kid again. Hehehe. Thanks dude.

I'm surprised you don't use the Ambassador C3 or 5500 with a bait Clicker! For years I used c3's for catfishing in rivers and lakes it makes bottom fishing more efficient because they're just so useful and the tension that the fish feels is next to nothing and the bait Clicker is easy to hear quite a ways away

Thanks for all you go through to bring us these fishing adventures. All day in snow without a bite!
I've had success with bratwurst and catfish after watching you. One suggestion: I put a chunk of bratwurst in a lady's knee-high hose, pull it tight and knot it. Makes a nice ball of bait. Then cut off excess. Hook through the knot and it keeps the bait on the line. Can usually get several baits out of a single tube of hose.

If you ever go to Saskatchewan for pike and lake trout, be sure you have plenty of those big Dardevle spoons, red & white and the "five of diamonds", which is yellow with red diamonds, brass back. They'll hit it so hard they take the paint off it. I did a fly-in trip with 50-lbs of gear/clothes/stuff allowed, couldn't take much of anything. The outfitter told me all I need is a bunch of those spoons and titanium leaders. He was right. Well hang in there, spring isn't far away, better times to come. Good video as always.

That was a neat looking carp.rapala made a weedless spoon that is helpful when your fishing water with a Rocky bottom.it was made for fishing in weeds they advertised it as a salad spoon.i don't know what they call those clams but the catfish in Pennsylvania love them I find them and catch fish with them.the Rapala spoon was good for vertical jigging smallmouth up from rock piles to since its pretty weedless to,even a plain single hook spoon gets snagged but it's not a problem with the Rapala spoon.

I have tried to mention this to you, but if you and your girlfriend ever make it to Maui, please hit me up I would love to take you fishing. I work for DIE HARD sport fishing out of Lahaina harbor Maui. I love these fact that you are not afraid to mention that it's been hours between bites. You are one of the very few fisherman that show what it takes to catch fish. Love your channel and I am subscribed

Nice video! I've also caught a lot of clams instead of fish, so you're cool! 🐚😁

Man I haven’t been there in a while! The Kaskaskia is a super productive fishing spot. I’ve never gone and not caught something.

would like to see you go on a fishing adventure for a couple of days maybe include camping like in the old days of your vids. Many successes happen when camping and fishing spending time and surveying the area.
