12 YEAR A SLAVE tells the incredible true story of one man's fight for survival and freedom. In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty (personified by a malevolent slave owner, portrayed by Michael Fassbender), as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity. In the twelfth year of his unforgettable odyssey, Solomon's chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt) will forever alter his life.
5:32 lupita is so so gifted in acting it's insane. To act in such an amazing movie, as a kind of newcomer, is so incredible.

Benedict Cumberbatch was Doctor Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange (2016) Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Avengers: Infinity War (2018) Avengers: Endgame (2019). Paul Giamatti was Aleksei Sytsevich a.k.a The Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). Michael Fassbender was Erik Lensherr a.k.a Magneto in the X-Men movies. Lupita Nyong'o was Nakia in Black Panther (2018). Alfre Woodard was Miriam in Captain America: Civil War (2016).

And Brad Pitt and Fassbender were both in 'Inglorious basterds'.
Great movie...Having said that, I couldn’t help but notice a lot of the actors/ actresses ended playing in Marvel movies 😁

When Lupita Nyong'o won her award for this film, she stated that she was aware that so much joy in her life is down to so much pain in someone else's. That really stuck with me 😭💔 she was just sensational in this film - crazy to think she was a newcomer. It was horrific and breathtaking at the same time, but a story that needed to be told for what it was. I'm so glad it won so many awards, it was so well deserved ❤

If you do your own personal research and study the time period you would have a better understanding of why he could not just simply escape.

Trying to find a slavery documentary of blacks on a plantation.
I remember the white man grabbing the black man's private saying he can go (have sex) like 5 times a day.
Was a good documentary or movie. (that's just the most notable part that I could remember.) oh and white man threw a cigar on the ground for black man to pick up.
I don't think there's ever been a true film or documentary of the plantations, all we're fed is a diet of pol-correct pro-black anti-white propaganda.
They perpetueade and never be finish with the slavery.
