I can’t believe real life is so unrealistic. In Minecraft you can easily create blue fireworks by simply using blue dye and gunpowder to create a blue firework star.
The usual blue firework is dark blue close to purple-ish. It's the commonly known one but still not the real kind of blue we want. Brilliant blue or sky blue fireworks haven't exist.
Such formulas already exist at least currently 5 years after this comment was sent and they have for a while to my knowledge they are just pretty expensive when it comes to production
I saw it in Woodstock, NY earlier tonight, and I spotted blue fireworks there. Fireworks always have blue along with red, green, orange, pink, purple, and white.
The admittedly crude solution is just to make the blue stars (or lances, etc.) bigger than the other colors, so they throw out more light. The problem then comes in aerial fireworks where they're mixed with other colors. To match the other colors' brightness, the blue stars have to be so much bigger that they burn much longer than the others. That problem too can be surmounted by making cored stars -- tube-shaped so they burn from the inside as well as the outside -- but that's lot of trouble just for a visual effect. The description of fireworks generally in this video is pretty bad, identifying the base composition as "fuel" (rather than fuel + oxidant), and then saying it's usually black powder (which is hardly ever true for color compositions).
If we understand the workings of blue stars maybe we can figure out how to make fireworks so hot that they appear blue without the dye? Just a thought 🧐
That’s not how fireworks work. The fuse gets lit, and once burned to the cardboard shell, the bottom propels it into the sky. Then, the fuse still goes into the shell and it’s timed so once it’s in the sky, the fuse gets to the gunpowder inside, and lights the color beads and propels them outward

In Malta the Italians make some of the brightest colors I have ever seen and dark bright blue is one they use in there hard breaking stutata shells very nice..
I would love for fireworks to be replaced by laser shows. It would be less polluting and stop freaking out the animals that don't understand what it is.
Of course there are fireworks that have the color blue in them. What they are talking about here are large 1.3G professional grade fireworks, not regular 1.4G consumer fireworks.
You are wrong, blue fireworks are possible easily, just take a paper, gunpoweder and a Lapis Lazuly/blue dye and you have blue fireworks, you can't hold more than 64 in your hand by the way...
Its more like a spectrum of an eye how everyone see the blue colour... beside if you see a firework alone with a blue stars its nice but because with reds and greens together the blue disappear in this chaos... purple stars in the other hand is like the same but a lil better!
I have an excellent idea to make blue fireworks easier. I have known cobalt to be associated with blue. I even have a game in which a shade of blue is called cobalt. So, I thought, is this the way we make better, blue fireworks?
The second I heard 3:17 ... XD. Obviously something like that had to be put in into a science video. I'm not trying to be mean, I understand you need to be proud of your country, but for some reason this sort of thing breaks me up each time.
No it doesn't. Maybe you have seen somebody who soaked it in alcohol and burned it. But Alkohol burns in a very weak blue and you woudn't see it in fireworks.
Wait , I feel like I’ve seen blue fireworks before.🧐
I was going to comment the same thing. I know I’ve seen red white and blue fireworks.
Yep. I have seen it too!
MrFatilo yes but they made it seem like nobody ever sees blue fireworks at all, which is a misconception

That's probably light blue which is not the same as bright blue is much more darker in color.

Blue fireworks would be so beautiful😍💙
Janiyah Nicole yeah
Yeah
They are
There might be a way to produce that blue color in the future by using technology outside of normal explosives and chemistry. I hope we can.
They exist
We've had blue fireworks as long as I can remember, not necessarily the whole thing but there are definitely blue Sparks in them
The second hardest color to get is a deep emerald green. It can be accomplished, but the chemicals are expensive and quite hazardous to handle.
Before clicking this video, everyone thought they used to see bright blue fireworks😂
They should make this a competition to see who can come up with a safe substance or formula to create brilliant blue fireworks
Such formulas already exist at least currently 5 years after this comment was sent and they have for a while to my knowledge they are just pretty expensive when it comes to production
