I thought you weren't supposed to change a title or tags on a listing doing well, so if you change it for the different seasons wouldn't that mess up that listing and kind of restart it in the algorithm??

I've watched so many videos on SEO and even spoke with an Etsy pro on video call, yet I still barely get any views/visits to my shop. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong at this point. It's pretty discouraging, but I'm gonna keep going. It's been about a month and a half since I re-opened and revamped my old shop to what it is now, so maybe I just need more time. I'm wondering if it would have made more sense to start a brand new shop instead, but I figured having old sales and reviews on the site would make things look better even though they were for products no longer sold in my shop. I'm also starting to think maybe my products themselves are just not what people want. Sigh, it's so hard to figure this Etsy stuff out as easy as these videos make it sound lol. I appreciate all your tips though! I'm learning more and more every day.

I ended up deleting the listings and kept the account, although I have not been active on it all this time. I want to try again, now that I have the ETSY Mastermind (You) as my go-to brilliant resource😊, but this time I would like to try selling digital products. Do you think it is better to revamp my old ETSY shop by changing the name or deleting it and creating a new account/shop? Does the ETSY algorithm frown upon accounts that have not been active for a while vs. new accounts that have new listings and fresh content? How often should you change keywords if you are not generating sales? Thank you for your help!❣
If you are not getting sales in your store, why don't you promote it on social media platform and on Google so that it can rank,
And you need to change the keyword you use before, so you will need to put high ranking SEO keyword to it, and that will generate traffic to your store and increase your sales and your store will be seen when search on Google.

Will etsy combine short tail and long tail keywords? If you create a tag for fabric and then one for green floral. Will those be combined or do you need to try and fit to match the most? if so can you shorten the word fabric to fabr which is the spelling etsy converts automatically to fabric.
You can't shorten any words - 'fabric' will have to be fabric'. Yes the AI will take a 'green floral' tag and a 'fabric' tag and put them together, but it's better to have 'green floral fabric' as will fit in the tags anyway. You get 20 characters in those, they should mostly look like little search terms so tags like 'flower print fabric' or 'floral material' or 'green floral print'.
What equestrian products do you think will be trending this year? I am an equestrian and hope to start a shop for equestrian products wrapped with or made out of paracord (i.e. bridles, hoof picks, breast collars, neck ropes, and saddle straps). The products will be customizable with colors and for a few item the style will be an option too. I know horse products are not super popular on easy but I think it would just be a fun side thing that I enjoy. Also I am under 18 and was wondering if easy automatically takes out the tax you have to pay or if thats something i will have to figure out with my mom on how to pay them? Also If the item is personalized and made to order if you select made to order when making the listing do you ever have to renew the listing since you have to wait for the order?
Hey friend! I use Sale Samurai to find trending product ideas. Definitely check out my “Etsy Trend Research” video to see how step by step. As far as the listings, you will need to renew each time it makes a sale or when it expires in 3 months. You can set it to automatic renewal so Etsy does it for you and you don’t have to remember :)

Etsy’s categories and attributes lists don’t include many of the things I use in my jewellery.
Also a lot of p put ‘gift for her’ in the title and tags. In the U.K. we tend to use ‘present’ rather than gift. Does the Etsy algorithm convert such words?
Is it worth saying things like ‘present for girl friend’ in the tags and also adding ‘gift for girlfriend’ ? Who actually would type ‘gift for her’ into search? Wouldn’t they more likely type say, ‘earrings for girlfriend’ or ‘present for girlfriend’ etc etc.
Also some sites say to separate tag phrases with spaces, others say not to. Which is correct?

Since Kate hasn’t replied, I’ll chime in. Etsy themselves say this shouldn’t be the case. In fact, you’re just wasting precious real estate in your titles by putting your tags there. Furthermore, if your tags are cluttering your title, they don’t look very readable to your potential customers. Put the more important words in your title that people might search for.

I'm still using the same tags as part of the tite. About 4 or 5 years ago we used to do that and it worked, but I´m not sure what works now for a title.
Matching the keywords in your tags, title, and now description, still works :)

There are different opinions on this. Etsy says it’s not necessary to repeat and to try to think of alternative words you could use to reach a wider audience. I personally have repeated the same words multiple times in different phrases and it has worked for me. Not wrong but also not necessarily needed. I’d say if you have a few phrases that you KNOW are popular ways to word that phrase and people will be specifically typing it in like that, use the whole phrase even if a word repeats.
I have always struggled with Etsy, it's easier than eBay but sales are zero, I'm not a greedy person I'd be happy with 1 a day or week... But I recently put some new Halloween t shirts on and I can't wait to print them so I'm actually selling them at a loss and yet still no sales, seems fixed

Why don't you promote your etsy store, it will bring sales from there and you can get buyer which will be willing to buy from your store, but before doing that you must use the high ranking SEO keyword to your store so that your product can be seen when search on Google.

Does the exact order of the keywords matter?
The way the phrase is worded definitely matters. You want to do your keyword research and compare different orders of the same words and go with the one that is searched the most/lowest competition. Of course you can use all the different orders but always list the best ones first. Front load your title with the most important phrase or two that you want to rank for.
I just opened my shop about 2 months ago. 95% of my clients only come for their pleasure and destroy me.
They ordered the dresses and then returned for a full refund, they don't care that the dress was made to order which is cost to make.
Some of them are blackmailing, some of them are opening the case, some of them are asking to return after the return policy expires.
What upset me the most was that Etsy doesn't care about the seller, the buyer opened the case against me about the sizes of the dresses she bought, which I proved with the photo and dress number on the mannequin, but Etsy's response to support the buyer in different categories (Etsy's response nothing to do with her case).
This experience destroyed all my savings.
I decided to permanently close my account 3 weeks ago and am now waiting for Etsy to confirm the deletion.
Too much work, too much problems, too much hassle for NOTHING.

Yes the description actually does matter! Etsy announced last year that it now takes into account the description for SEO purposes (did not before).
