Y’all are substantially more interesting than the ‘Partially Examined Life’ podcast, I’m glad I found you.

As a Marxists (one of many sides) this is profoundly liberating, no point in even being upset or sad honestly..

On the point about Baudrillard not being read today, he was actually cited in a reading for my intro level computer science class.

It was only in passing, but it was in the article “Indigenous Circuits: Navajo Women and the Racialization of Early Electronic Manufacture.” It was towards the end. I think the context was that indigenous people’s culture was being commodified not for its use or exchange value, but for something else, though i might not remember perfectly

So glad to see attitudes of "theorists need to be more informatic, obscene" shared! That's some real shit indeed 🤝. Accessibility of theory would accelerate its development, which would be exciting to see. The whole convo between you guys was premium all around, very fluid and clear analysis, easy to follow. ❤

It's the dirt bag left imo, though that label has a lot of connotations

@Alex Clark I'm not talking about leftists. I don't associate with late adolescents
Lol, jk. I'm talking about philosophy theorists, not political theorists. Both are useless though

Seeing how back heavy this episode is on Baudrillard's conception of the masses, he lays out the model used in "Fatal Strategies" in the earlier In "The Shadow of the Silent Majorities", and it's a really fascinating read.

Eric's mic is hissing and peaking so much, it's becoming unbearable. I'll subscribe to your Patrion, guys, if you fix this, I promise.

There's an old song called Contradictions by this rapper named Azeem which talks about this strange, paradoxical america. Quite relevant to the convo here

The reason America is so religious is that the Puritans started our country, instead of Europe where they had the age of reason. That's why we are a contradiction and we love it.

I'd prefer an episode on object oriented ontology instead.

i second this! I tried to read a book on OOO and it was at the limits of my understanding... i need help. But interestingly it was also mentioned on one of Wendigoons iceberg videos - which was odd: /watch?v=SSSAENcrNgo?t=78 "Conspiracy Theory Iceberg" (is it bad form to ref other channels?)

"what is the most seductive. what is the most fascinating" -- more or less tantric propositions and need to be meditated into. The attractiveness of these ideas has an energetic construction. Misinformed engagement with that structure can be quite dangerous. Remember when it comes to pure consciousness, the likelihood is that its YOU who is being seduced. ॐ

Critical theorists and “post-modernists” still making universalizing pronouncements? Sounds like a contradiction to me!
