Opera? Opera started to emerge as a concert piece in the late 16th century. Nahhh, it is a Christian hymn composed on top of a 13th century poem - and actually sung to prepare for prayer... it is definitely not an aria.
Floor is the sweetest and most humble woman. We call her Queen and Goddess because of our love for her, and she just laughs and doesn't let it go to her head at all. Simone and Epica are very very good, and yes Simone and Floor are very good friends. They sound like angels together when they harmonize.

I often describe Epica as a heavier Nightwish. Check out Epica’s “Consign to oblivion” “beyond the matrix” both from zenith live. Also “Unchained Utopia” “victims of contingency” both from Omega Alive. What they did with the Omega Alive videos as so cool!
You can't go wrong with anything from Retrospect anniversary show Epica is only similar to Nightwish in that both lead singers are outstanding. Epica is heavier and uses growling voices more from male lead singer. I have seen Epica several times and put on a great show and really connect with audience . Their new album is unbelievable. I would also do a couple of songs from that like Skelton Key or kingdom of heaven part 3. The balled called Rivers is especially beautiful. too.

I think you should go on "Universal love squad" to focus on the lead singer, Simone Simons. It's a lovely ballad (which has a heavy counterpart in "Universal DEATH squad" 😅) which will allow you to acknowledge her skills better than others, because music is very soft and intimate..
At a fundamental level, Symphonic Metal is about bringing classical complexity to metal songs and Melodic Death Metal is about balancing light and shade. These two things blend very well, and Epica are masters of both. Sancta Terra and Unleashed are lighter Epica works. More typical or Epica are Cry For The Moon or Storm The Sorrow or Skeleton Key (which has awesome studio/video version and the live-stream version). Epica can also kick hard, Abyss Of Time or Consign To Oblivion (especially the live version from Zennith, Paris)

What others _haven't_ said is that this concert had a full orchestra backing the band. Speaking of, I have to make a recommendation for you: Truth Beneath the Rose, Within Temptation, Black Symphony 2008. I think that if you love Epica, you'll love Within Temptation as well!

f I wouldn't do Consign to Oblivion yet see that many in the comments but don't forget epica is a lot heavier than nightwish mark does the growls in some songs and Consign to Oblivion is one of their heaviest songs with a lot of growls and I think that if you're not ready yet try EPICA - Unleashed (OFFICIAL LIVE) or Epica - Chasing The Dragon LIVE Retrospect

Try "Epica - Dream State Armageddon (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO)" you will be blown away, it's heavier Epica at it's finest! Or do "Epica - Beyond The Matrix - Live at the Zenith (OFFICIAL VIDEO)", it's a more catchy song with also heavier parts in it and you can JUMP to it with the whole band!

Their lead singer Noa Gruman has an unbelievable range. She is an absolutely amazing vocalist.
