The G6 issue happens to me sometimes when I switch from stereo to 7.1, all I do is go to my sound devices and switch to another audio output and then switch it back and it works every time.
Man... this issue has been driving me so crazy for the past month and I'm surprised I only just stumbled upon this. I just bought an X4, after going through the exact same issue as you with the G6 on PC. I've had it for nearly 2 years and it seemed to start happening in the last few months, only getting worse. Barely touching the cable (which has been replaced already) causes the sound to cut out and then come back in. Calmly lifting it up, same thing. Reinstalling the firmware would briefly make it better, before it would quickly go back to being the most fragile thing in the world. Accidental bump of the desk? Accidental soft nudge of the USB cord? There it goes... lol brutal. Can't wait for the X4 to get here tomorrow. I have dt 990's too but I mostly use IEM's now (for gaming) so I think power wise I'll be set with the X4. Thanks for the video!
I own the x3 and the g6. I bought the g6 for the same reason. My x3 similar to your x4, has same issue with volume level to low at max. Once i got the g6, wow. more than enough volume
If those are high ohm headphones, that's problem number one. Nobody needs high ohm headphones for gaming, etc. Normal 32 ohm headphones work better on more equipment and sound the same. High Ohm doesn't mean better "quality." It just means it takes more power to drive the drivers. Nice review though.

Yes, but I use software to separate my audio. So that when I’m gaming my audio goes to my headset but then I can change it back to my sub and speakers when I want. But they aren’t both playing audio at the same time. But that’s how I have it set up.
I only play warzone. I have a ifi zen amp and a zen dac with hifiman edition xs open back planar magnetic headphones. Would I hear footsteps better with the dt 1990 pro?
DT 1990 pro would give you much better spacial awareness than any planar magnetic headphones. You can pinpoint where the footsteps are coming from. Yes the DT 1990 Pro are great for Warzone. Another great option is Sennheiser HD560S. The best are Senheiser HD800S if you can swing it though. I have tried over 20 high end headphones and these are my top 3 for fps games.
I have the Sennheiser HD 560s, using them with the ifi Zen Dac V2. Excellent sound in game, and with music playback. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Only issue is no mic port on the ifi, and no mic on the Sennheisers. I've started playing shooters again after a long absence, so I'm looking at adding a mod mic to stick on the Sennheisers, and a second hand gaming DAC, like a Creative with a mic port. I'll keep the ifi Zen for listening to music.
I have been having problems with the G6, it turns off from one moment to the next and then turns on, I bought a new USB cable and it happens the same and I changed the USB port and it remains the same, it is in its most recent firmware.

I've been using my G6 for over 3 years now, about four months ago I had the same issue,I got sick of unplugging it,I deleted & reinstalled all my sound device drivers plus the same with my G6 software,in the past three months I haven't had to unplug it once & I game most nights.
I'd be content with the Soundblasterx G6, if it weren't for the glowing white lite emitting beneath the volume dial. There doesn't seem to way to turn it off. Plus, the knob itself doesn't have an arrow to indicate how high the volume is, and it's very finicky. Negatives aside, the Sound is great, after EQing my DT770's. But I'd like to upgrade to a DAC without any tacky glowing lights and a good volume dial. Any recommendations?
So i haven’t personally used the GC7 but I definitely was looking at it when I was searching and forgot what it was that made me not go for it, I believe it’s weaker in terms of powering headphones compared to the other two I think.. but I did like the look of it. As far as the wave link I just have it setup to where I can switch my audio to go through my headphones or speakers separately. Absolutely love the software for separating my audio.
İ'm Just Play MMORPG Games. footsteps are not important for me. I need better Nature Sounds in Games. So I Just Wanna Listen Music and Not Using Mic. Which is better for me ? G6 vs X3 vs X4 ? (G6 have 32bit mode really ? Should I choose 32-bit sound quality myself?)
Overall the G6 provides the best quality in my opinion but the X4 is still good quality though. Idk much about x3 but they will all provide better quality then not having an amp/Dac long as you have supported headphones to get the quality out of these devices.
Don't know what is the point of this video , title has "G6 vs X4" but i think that haven't seen any real comparison between these two, its focused on G6 issue and its power. If you have an issue like you have with G6 than the only solution is to buy a DAC/headphone amp that can make 250 ohm headphones loud. Majority of people are on 32-150 ohm headphones and X4 has too much power for these. For that video better tittle would be: Should i buy Sound blaster G6 /X4 or Anything else for 250+ ohm HPs? , because it clear as day that G6 is the only one in their line up with that amount of power. But huh, animations are nice.
You do have a point...I didn't want to go into the specs so much since they are very similar in performance besides the g6 haveing more power. And they both work as intended so it was more to see them side by side and give my opinion on each lol sorry to be misleading I guess...
You said you didn't use the mic port yourself but I'm really curious about the sidetone/ mic monitoring on these. I heard the G6 could have some delay issues so it would be better to get a X3 or X4. But if that is not the case I'd prefer the G6.
Yeah I honestly never used the monitoring on these guys. But i can’t imagine it could be that much delayed. If that isn’t a problem then I would recommend the G6 as well.
I've been listening to headphones for a month now from this sound card ... I didn't see any difference from the built-in AC97 sound card)) it should cost half as much)).
Usage will vary based on the headset your using. If it’s just a basic style headphone then they won’t provide the power aka OHM to give you that better quality. For instance my DT 990 pros have 250ohm

The fact it bothers you that much i used that word for an entry level audiophile style headset shows you need better things to be concerned about…. Wake up 🤪
I don’t know what this sound card is for... for a music lover it’s bad even if you listen to flac format with raised equalizer settings.. SXFI mode makes the sound like in a box. I don’t know who might like it. simple cheap equalizer settings. For this money, it should sound like a tube amplifier and there should be not simple equalizer presets in effects, but full-fledged environment adjustments
Well for me and others I’ve spoke to, use this mainly for PC or console gaming. You still need the right headset of course but it’s night and day difference for gaming for sure compared to a basic gaming usb headset. @@worstenbroodje6832 loving it tbh, very good range of presets, i dont game now without it
@@DeaD1tedo u have any issue with it?
Would you recommend these for Philips Fidelio x3
Yes, I have them too. Will help your other headphones too, like for example my cloud 2. Go for this or Schitt hel/fula.
Which is recommended for series x and how do these compare to gc7
Not familiar with the gc7 but for consoles I would go with the G6 as it’s more suitable for them.
@@TechTosh alright thx bro
@@frenchbeluga7055 no problem homie! 🤘
RGBTEK 192khz DAC
x3 go to 32 bit x4 go to 24 bit btw the g6 is a monster because is have a hiress dac up to 130 db !
Yeah i went back to using the G6 as it just has more power for my headset. Just wish it was usb-c
Everything depend on which usb you are using , I got the same problem . You need to check one by one all usb on your motherboard .
Dose it has mic effects sound like revarbs and echo
Don’t believe so .. at least out of the box 📦
Which is best for audiophiles
Probably neither of these then if your a true audiophile head but if you have a powerful headset for those audiophile then I would say the G6
@@TechTosh iam having sennheiser hd600
@@thak594 G6 will power them better
What about the Soundblaster GC7 vs those two ??
Another question how you used the wave link with the soundblaster??
@@TechTosh
Thanks for answer. I wanna buy G6 for my "DT 770 Pro 250ohm".
I hope the G6 gives my headphones enough power and good sound quality.
@@TechTosh I'll try
Stop buying sound cards, invest in nail clippers.
No they’re handy when needed. Thanks for the advice though, your a legend!
3:04 I've read that ppl have problems with USB audio when playing games that have Denuvo - anti piracy software
Hello! Which headphones is better to use with this card? I would buy Razer blackshark v2x, but im not sure. Really I want to use it most in games
Are you PC or console? Because that will determine if you need a mic headset or not
@@TechTosh Hi, PC, mic is not important for me
@@TechTosh and, this card have problems with AMD? (I have AMD GPU and CPU)
@@100.streamsnipe no problems with amd. Headset can vary biased on your price rage but my favorite and personal experience is with the DT990 Pro by beyerdynamic
X5 is better for gaming?
Can’t really speak on it as I have not used it but it looks to be good idk if it’s better though
Work for Xbox ?
Yes sir
Does the G6 connect to ps5
Yes, that would be the one i recommend for console users
Via USB only
@@2Guapo would you know if the mic voice chat works via the PS5. Being as though it no longer supports optical..I would prefer a amp dac stack actually..
i have 4 G6 units for the past 3 years never had any issues with any of them
Damn homie why have you had 4 of them? Lol but its a great device and would still recommend it for sure.
asus ROG Clavis ?
Yes
how can you call dt990 pros audiophile?man..wake up already
Lol I’m awake thanks 🙏
And i say audiophile in a sense they are open-back style that need an amp/dac to power up and get way better audio then you would from any gaming or basic headphones.
The fact it bothers you that much i used that word for an entry level audiophile style headset shows you need better things to be concerned about…. Wake up 🤪
nothing wrong with a dt990 pro. Its a fine headphone for its price.
Yes, honestly most of those modes are garbage but I don’t use them especially not to listen to music.
@@TechTosh we got caught again in marketing))) as on an iPhone)))
its price is 40 dollars
G6 is crap! Software headache

what if you don’t have anything to update the sound blasters like a pc or laptop. can you just use it for ps5 and will it work fine without the update
Yes it will still work
