Really wished Dave could start showing compile time benchmarks for productivity laptops. If they're not gaming laptops I'll likely get them as a portable coding machine. Would be great to see how it compiles FF, Chromium, or even IDE project load speeds as long as the projects are standardized. FPS for games is fine and all but I likely won't be using this to game at all.

"Real people doing real work" probably use a company laptop (some Dell Precision or similar) or an actual desktop workstation or some computer (which could be this one, but I guess that is the minority) they use to SSH to a more powerful computer.
Reviewing porn is also real work. There's got to be some money to be made for doing it. Right now, it's just a lot of busywork, will figure out the returns later.

@@aayusmanmallick Not possible. Intel owns thunderbolt, so any computer with an AMD processor sadly won’t have it. Hopefully usb 4 comes out someday but that still might take a while.
USB A for us Engineers that need to console into things. You can get a USB C to RJ45 cable but the Type C would snap off in a day. This thing is growing on me..
omg it's perfect, my bank account isn't going to be happy but it has all the features I want; a screen hinge that doesn't make it unusable on a lap, 16gb ram, 2 usbc/tb, over 1080p (would prefer 1440p at this size but 4k will do), hdmi, micro sd, 16:10, around 1.3kg and as a bonus it's even got a usb a port, the only way it could be better is if it had a build in anti trip charger (magsafe/surface connector/vaio's non magnetic one, I'm clumsy) but i might be able to use an adaptor, I'm so happy I waited to see if anything new came out.

I feel like it's a hit or miss. My keyboard still works perfectly after many years of heavy usage, but my headphone broke after 4 months, purely due to bad build quality and design.

I think my old 2015 blade was the highest build quality laptop I’ve used. Sold it this year and got a G14 just because the 970m wasn’t good enough for me anymore. I have some Kraken pros from 2013 that still work great, and so far my Razer Lancehead works great. In my experience Razer stuff has been very very reliable but I also don’t abuse my stuff(banging on it, throwing mice, etc) either.

man, in the past I used to hate razer because I saw them as a company that only produced products for RGB addicted pre-teens. But recently, a lot of their products seem higher quality and have great features. I have more razer peripherals now than ever and I am planning on buying one of these laptops. They definitely changed in their design department and I like it.
Exactly the device I was looking for by exactly the company I wasn't expecting from. The only issue is the ergo lift style hinge which I dont seem to prefer, even though I rarely use it on my lap.
Here in Canada the price is more expensive than the macbook for about the same configuration. If I don’t absolutely need a windows centered laptop, I would go for the mac and install windows with bootcamp, and have the best of both worlds.

When I saw 'Book' after the name Razer i thought of a detachable screen like the Surface book series. It makes it up with upgradeable storage.

man, in the past I used to hate razer because I saw them as a company that only produced products for RGB addicted pre-teens. But recently, a lot of their products seem higher quality and have great features. I have more razer peripherals now than ever and I am planning on buying one of these laptops. They definitely changed in their design department and I like it.

Exactly the device I was looking for by exactly the company I wasn't expecting from. The only issue is the ergo lift style hinge which I dont seem to prefer, even though I rarely use it on my lap.
By that thickness i was certain it had a 2060 MaxQ or a 45W cpu. Its rebranded xiaomi mi book with chroma.

Here in Canada the price is more expensive than the macbook for about the same configuration. If I don’t absolutely need a windows centered laptop, I would go for the mac and install windows with bootcamp, and have the best of both worlds.

They actually fixed the layout with this keyboard. Compare it with the Razer Blade 15 2020. The shift row is no longer shifted to the left .25u on the Razer Book.

@@dirge44 yeah i got that website from a previous comment and I went through it. i guessed it might have had the one dave uses. pretty sure dave just used wallpaper engine. i wouldn't recommend using it though with all the nsfw shit it has and the bugs and shit. just ask on a subreddit with a screenshot, someone might get it for you.

As someone who just updated my gaming desktop and didn't want to drop $2k on a Blade for gaming, but still wanted to get a quality Razer ultrabook for daytime productivity stuff (e.g. coding and office productivity software) this product is a slam dunk

Hi Dave, can you recommend me a good ultra book. I need it for media consumption which is portable. I want oled display (because I am used to oled on cell phones) which is touch too. I want an HDMI port because I still like hooking up to my tv or a projector at work. I also want a USB A port too. I want a good battery. I appreciate a good build quality like an Apple or razer. Is there any other option than razer book 13 because the new dell xps 13 doesn’t have hdmi. Your suggestion will be appreciated
