I had this model and I knew I wouldn’t use it anymore. I gave it to my then 4yo (now 5) and she’s been using it ever since. I have so many fun pictures she took 🥰
These (Canon) models are excellent EDCs. Though I've been taking pictures for 70 years and have a couple larger, more "pro" cameras, I often have my little Powershot G9 nearby and use it much more frequently than the others.
So now it's time to pull my s95 out of the drawer. It was my steady carry for quite awhile but I was putting a little too much time into exposure, contrast, and local sharpening post. Still, it was small, started fast, focused fine, plenty wide, and it's a 50% as large as a lumix g85 with a pancake lens for 100% portability.
There is a demand for such small cameras, but the companies dont make anything anymore. Only new models available are some Pentax/Ricoh out door cameras. Which is not a bad option.. Perfect for vacations because you can do some water action fotos too..
That was a wonderful video presentation. You are spreading the wonderful news that we don’t all have to have a 40 megapixel camera to make interesting photographs. Thank you very much.😊
Note that there is a known issue with this model where the lens can develop a defect where the autofocus will not lock focus on anything farther than 3-4 ft away. The camera seems to work until you try to focus on stuff far away or the focus seems soft. Judging by the pictures in this video, you might have this issue. Pictures might look ok on the rear LCD but if you inspect closely on say a PC, they will be out of focus.
The S95 was a premium model back in the days for around 350ish$ / Euros. In todays money that would be 530 Euros. What pocket camera do you get for 530 Euros today? Nothing? Well, the Sony Vlog-Kamera ZV-1 is around that price tag. So there is at least one option.. Haha

It’s super simple to use.

It’s nice to see a seasoned photographer know the value of a good EDC.

Definitely great time to bring it back out.

Video quality is surprisingly good! Audio too!

That’s definitely a possibility.
That actually creates a cool effect
I got two(don't ask) of those 6-7 years ago, in pristine condition and extra original batteries. $70 each from ebay. Maybe time to sell! :)
That mic sounds great!
Actually sounds better than some of the Sony NEX mics, then again there wasn’t a lot of wind.

Why did you choose the s95 over newer models in the series like the s100?
I'm wondering this too

I have both. S95 takes much nicer shots.
