Oh man, I really hope you do some more Myles Kennedy analysis. Some of his live performances over the years have been unreal, from his solo work, to Alter Bridge, to his concerts with Slash.
Myles Kennedy is such an incredibly fantastic vocalist! Top 5 all time for me. He’s also an incredibly talented musician and a humble and gracious human being. Check out more of him in anything by AlterBridge, and some quality work in his solo stuff (Love can only heal), as well as with Slash and Mayfield Four!
I think you would really enjoy listening to Myles Kennedy singing his song, "Watch Over You,"... originally recorded with his band "Alter Bridge." There's a great acoustic version of it, on TH-cam. I have a feeling you would get a huge smile, experiencing it.
Such beautiful, powerful voices from two men whose vocal ranges are phenomenal! I love Myles voice! You need to check out his voice in the 2 bands he is with and solo music,
I just loved watching your reaction to this since I know you well. I suspected you would love it. And you described their dymanic exactly how you feel about yours Sam's dynamic! Myles Kennedy is one of my most favorite of male vocalists and I also love David Draiman. Draiman has classical training so I love that he actually does know what he's doing. Thanks, Katie!
Would love you to do more Myles Kennedy reactions. He's one of the great voices of rock with incredible technique. Try his work with Alter Bridge. Start with the studio and then the live performance of Blackbird ( He was sick in the Wembley performance and many fans will point you towards Amsterdam for the technically more 'perfect' vocal but I think Wembley was the more emotional performance which is why I prefer it. Check out the acoustic version of Watch Over You for Billboard for more insane vocals. Myles Kennedy also has some incredible solo work and put out astounding vocals with his previous band from the 90s, The Mayfield Four (Summergirl, The Big Verb, 12/31, White Flag are good examples.) Myles and Slash have released 4 albums to date. The stand out tracks for me are Anastasia and Back From Cali. Finally, Myles has done some incredible covers over the years. His version of Hallelujah, Immigrant song, The Trooper, Levon, Highway Star, Rock and Roll and Kashmir are all killer. In case you can't tell from the above, Myles absolutely one of my favourite rock singers of all time, up with Jeff Buckley, Robert Plant and Chris Cornell. If singing weren't enough Myles is also a crazily talented guitarist. Check out his jam with the PRS band. There is also a video floating around on TH-cam of the time a young Myles won The Axe man guitar competition with his shredding tablent. If he didn't have a career as a singer he could have a career solely on his guitar playing.
@@KatieJeanOBrien so apparently I only heard half the story (in a Dan Donegan interview. Here's the rest of it: " Draiman: We were on tour with Alter Bridge last cycle. It was one of the most successful summer runs we’ve ever had. I don’t remember exactly how it went down. It might have been Mark Tremonti who said that Myles had been experimenting with a harmony for our live version of “The Sound of Silence.” I ended up going to their dressing room and we ran through it and nailed it our first time trying it. It felt like, dude, we have to do this. Later that night, we ran it at sound check just to get a feel of where it would sit in our mixes and did it that night. Our monitor engineer happened to record it. The TH-cam clips of it from the crowd ended up going all over the place. It got a lot of play on its own. But we had the recording and it came out so beautifully. It was such a great moment that we had to throw it on the record." www.musicconnection.com/cover-story-disturbed/
Check out Alter Bridge "Words Darker Than Their Wings" live from Royal Albert Hall with the Parallax Orchestra for Myles Kennedy in all his vocal glory. It's phenomenal.
Hey. Greatings from Germany and sorry for my english. Would you hear more harmony in voices? Listen to Epica and Floor Jansen with her song Sancta Terra. Please give me a shorts Feedback after hearing or reacting.❤🎉😊
Hey Katie , loved your reaction on this ( and the other version ) of sound of silence. Now who dares to say metalheads arent artists to..lol.. please may i suggest to have a look at another favorite of mine , Nightwish Ghost love score . keep doing the reactions , we sure want to know your opinion . Gtrzz from the Netherlands
Is it really true? Have I stumbled upon a vocal coach that has not yet reacted to the worlds most versatile singer? (range C3 to F6, sing like an angel, growl like a demon, from timid and frail to powerful goddess.) Curious? Checkout Floor Jansen with Nightwish. A good place to start would be "Ghost Love Score" at Wacken Open Air in 2013 th-cam.com/video/47e_961OQWE/w-d-xo.html
Hi new sub here from New Zealand - like your reactions thank you - I have no doubt that others have already asked but would you consider reacting to Nightwish - Ghost Love Score Official Live from Wacken (pron Varkin) - I am sure you would have some fascinating comments to make about singer Floor Jansen (pron Yarnsen) - Cheers
Hi, I just watched your reaction to Jacob Collier's 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing'. Mind blowing, right?? Comments are turned off for that video so I came here. I just wanted to recommend a recent BBC documentary about Jacob. It runs about an hour and does a great job introducing Jacob and his career so far. As you'll see in the documentary, when Quincy Jones first saw Jacob's 'Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing' video, he was so blown away he basically told his people to drop everything and find that kid! th-cam.com/video/ERvd5QjupSU/w-d-xo.html Also, I look forward to more reactions to Jacob! A few suggestions - -Two recent short videos of Jacob and "the audience choir" (he conducts and "plays" his live audiences like a choir. It's AMAZING.): 1. th-cam.com/video/3KsF309XpJo/w-d-xo.html AND 2. th-cam.com/video/hg3U7TPZxbI/w-d-xo.html - His covers of Fascinating Rhythm, The Flintstones, All Night Long and Moon River are other unbelievable songs. Have fun!
Thank you!! I have seen his version of Moon River and that blew me away as well. I’m not sure why the comments are turned off, but let me go fix that! Thanks for the suggestions!
@@KatieJeanOBrien If you haven't seen them, for a more deep dive into his Moon River there is an excellent harmonic analysis video from a YT channel called 'Listenin In': th-cam.com/video/UTDHylJZMXU/w-d-xo.html and also Jacob did a live stream where he breaks down in great detail the logic session for that song. What can you say even Simon and Garfunkel love this version. I have not heard this version of the song and it was just as good as the first version.

Wow, thank you for all of this info!!!
For fantastic harmonies, please listen to AURORA, it happened quiet (Live at the Current). This acoustic version is just the best!
If you like this, listen to Lizzy Hale and Amy Lee doing "Break In"
Fun fact - the first time they sang this together was earlier that day at sound check!
Wow really?!

There have been several people requesting this, so I need to get on top of it!
Myles kennedy is a serious rabbit hole. Check him out
Notice how Myles would take a lower octave to allow David's higher octave "growl" to stand out ?

Just a suggestion. You could’ve broken down the song in several spots. It would’ve been more compelling. Instead of waiting till the end.
NOT FOR ME ,THANK YOU.
Okay!
