Preetham Varma not saying that Shankar is waste but he changed his style. His movies from last decade were totally different from the ones you listed. He meant because he was trying to achieve a balance he was not presented as a proper superstar like he presented Vijay in kathi or sarkaar. Mahesh babu was not driving everything in Spyder like Vijay in kathi. Thats what he meant. He did not achieve a proper balance. That's why it didn't work neither in Telugu nor in tamil
I don't think kgf did very well in tamil and in other languages for yash's superstardom. It had a pann indian appealing content though it was a mass masala story and it's making was good too. All these together made the movie to be a great success. Same applies for bahubali.
Spyder was neither a mass film in Telugu, nor a impactful one in Tamil. End point - ARM spoilt the movie, he didn't hit the right note! Hopefully sometime in future, both of them will get back for a good film!

Watch ktv then...these idiots don't have the guts to try anything new. They rely on nostalgia of 80s 90s kids, keep the same look, same dialogue, and make a movie...Rajini is just a cash cow for them.
