There is nobody better at game tutorials than you. I always ALWAYS consult your videos when I am about to play a new game. Thank you for being so thorough and entertaining!
Great video, as usual! After watching I Completely understand the game without even having to looking at the rule book! Thank you for your videos they are always super helpful!
The way you explain rules thoroughly and succinctly is a wonder and a joy, thanks Rodney! Bought this game for my wife for her birthday - she has friends coming over tonight, and now I don't have to wade through a rulebook!
When you add a level to a tower block do you gain additional people for the new top floor, or is only the tile showing the one that provides people? Ie if my 3 level tower block has 1 person on the first level, 2 on the 2nd and 1 on the 3rd floor, do I have 4 people I can assign or just 1?Great job as usual!
Hi Rodney. I just ordered this game so I'm revisiting your excellent tutorial video. Just one question I had. Do the public service buildings give you the points on the top left even if they aren't activated? The activation only allows the further scoring of building per district? I thought that might be the case because it seems the item in the top left, usually resources or residents, you get straight away. But then I thought if the building is removed before scoring because it's not activated then you wouldn't score anything. Wow this question rambled on for longer than I expected! Well done if you read this far. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks for checking out the video! The public service buildings will only grant points if they are activated at the end of the game. Unlike the regular buildings, these do not provide their "benefit" right away.
Based on the stacking rules, would you be able to place a tower on any board space if the #1 architect was used, since it is the first floor on any space?
I'm confused: on page 2 of the classic rules, in the set-up of the game, it is mentionned that "In a 3-player game , do not TURN (NOT REMOVE, emphases mine) the buildings marked with a 4". Same logic for 2 players with the tiles 3/4 and 4. To me it makes more sens to still have them, but un-identified; so that you still have available tiles even with all the previous architects placed; only you're buying blind. Was there a reprint of the rules that mention to remove them?
This was a slightly confusing aspect to the rules. You are not allowed to collect the face down tiles. So, for me, it has always been easier to remove them, so it is clear that they are not in play. This was something I brought up on BGG with the designer: boardgamegeek.com/thread/1539805/wait-can-you-collect-face-down-buildings - hope that helps!
Perfect, thanks for the precision: the case is closed! And looking forward to the next video: you're my first source of info when questions arrise after the 1st "overview" playthrough of any game!
I avoid reviewing, as I can't say what you'd like in a 2 player game, but we do have a full play through of it with 2 players, if you'd like to see how it works: th-cam.com/video/XKcAPCw1BKM/w-d-xo.html
Wow, wasn't expecting such a quick response! I'll give your run through a look and maybe post on the forums at boardgamegeek to see some other suggestions. Thanks again for all the work you do on these videos, much quicker and easier to follow than having to run through the rulebook every time I play a new game.
hey i have a question can you show us a game on warhammer 40000 conquest but i need help on one part the reason i came to u is u explain it so well what part i am counfused on is how to build the deck it is a lcg
Absolutely outstanding video. I really enjoy the game a lot after watching your video. I have a question though- where is accent from? There are some interesting quirks with it...
Is there any way you could do a How To Play on Fury of Dracula 3rd Edition? I can't quite wrap my head around the rulebook and I've heard there's many inconsistencies, so I'm even more lost. Keep up the great job!
You can re-allocate your Resources on your Buildings freely and with no limitation at any time during the game (Inhabitants and Energy Units). Only at the end of the game must you decide how you want to allocate them for good in order to maximize your VPs before the scoring begins.

So glad to be able to assist. Hope your wife and all enjoy :)
Another great video, Rodney! My wife and I have gotten to the point that we only will buy a game if you've done a video on it! Keep up the great work!
+David So glad you find the videos helpful! Great to have you watching :)

I decided to give you that 600th like.
Good videos all around.
Thank you kindly!
Excellent job yet again
Thanks Coach!
Helpful as always. You do great work!
+Eric Laue Thank you very much Eric!
Same number of empty spaces? The final tie breaker should always be a dance off.
I note the exception: Sea Dracula, where a dance off is used as the main mechanic in the game and thus would not be an interesting tie breaker.
I hope there's never a tie in one of our live playthroughs...
Gracias a BGfreak por la traducción, se aprecia mucho y a Rodney por la excelente explicación. saludos!
Glad you enjoyed!
Great vid as always!
+Worshy Thanks Worshy!
Thanks for the tutorial. Bagged and punched this one last night :)
+boardgamecloset Hope you have a great time playing :)
What did you end up thinking of the game?
Cool interesting game
Glad you've been enjoying our videos Pokemonix :)
Great explanation!
Thanks Gonzalo!
Wow, great explanation.
Thank you kindly.
Not sure if I just missed it, but I don't think you explained that the energy are negative points if you don't have them allocated at the end.
I think you missed it: th-cam.com/video/qX1G34GsZB8/w-d-xo.htmlm53s :)
Yep sure did, Thanks!

+Lloyd Crosby Each tile you place gives you the pictured resources (even if it's going on top of another tile). So in your example, yep, you'd have 4.
Man I wanna see more gameplay
+carter grantham Game play videos coming soon! Just shot the first one today with Pep :)

+Matthew Cozza No, because in that case, the 1st floor isn't stacking on top of anything.
+Watch It Played Good to know. I think Eric Martin had said you could in his video overview, and I wanted to clarify. Thanks. :)
+Matthew Cozza No trouble at all.

Thanks for another great instructional video.
How does this game work with 2 players? Are there city building games that play better with 2 players?
I avoid reviewing, as I can't say what you'd like in a 2 player game, but we do have a full play through of it with 2 players, if you'd like to see how it works: th-cam.com/video/XKcAPCw1BKM/w-d-xo.html

A pleasure to assist Dean :)
Is this out in the US yet? I can't seem to find a confirmed release date online.
+areasontowritehome It's expected to release in April.

+Hayray More Thanks for the interest. I don't have plans to feature that game currently.
yep
It seems like monuments are a high-risk, high-reward thing, in that example it totally screwed you over lol!
Absolutely outstanding video. I really enjoy the game a lot after watching your video. I have a question though- where is accent from? There are some interesting quirks with it...
Rodney Hrvatin I think Canada
East coast Canadian
@@WatchItPlayed Only took five years but now I can sleep! ;) Thanks fellow Rodney!
@@rodneyhrvatin9621 We Rodney's need to stick together... even if it's... a very long 5 year sticking togetherness.
Is taking the resources optional or mandatory?
Mandatory.
Is there any way you could do a How To Play on Fury of Dracula 3rd Edition? I can't quite wrap my head around the rulebook and I've heard there's many inconsistencies, so I'm even more lost.
Keep up the great job!
+TriplePalindromous I haven't played that one, and no plans to currently (so many games, so little time!) - sorry to hear it's causing some trouble!
When can we activate a building

If office buildings are physically adjacent but spread across multiple districts, are they still considered adjacent?
My understanding is yes.
+Watch It Played Rad, thanks for the response.
Rodney Smith, making rulebooks obsolete since 2011. 🙂
Doing what I can to assist!
Wow the scoring system is so inelegant...
+Jean Laurant The helper card for each player is quite useful for keeping this information straight during the game play.
+Watch It Played That's right, but if the system is elegant, you don't need that.
Explaining these tiles makes me not want to play this game.
I'm always glad to see my videos help someone make up their mind about the game, one way or the other!
