What are you most excited for in First Contact?
Cloaking
It will perfect my Romulan build
That this DLC drops on my birthday. And expanded primitive interactions.
Preventing pre-ftl planets from nuking themselves before I can claim their system, uplift them, and integrate them into my civilization
Cloaking and really the whole dlc just more options for first contact with primitives adds so much value and roleplay and immersion into the game! I’m excited 😫😫
Stellaris Kinolengh Movie when???? o.O
Born too late to explore the world. Born too early to explore the galaxy. Born just in time to play stellaris.
ya dont know how fast we will leave the solar system so we might still explore the galaxy
After you decide between astrophysics and aerospace engineering, let us know, we'll need consultants.
@@stellarsoda1484 You don't need FTL to explore the galaxy. Relativistic dilation effects mean you can get you any star you want in your lifetime just by getting near the speed of light, no need to exceed it.
You only need FTL travel if you want your friends and family to still be alive once you get back.
@@stellarsoda1484 people in the industrial age said that they wont see eletronics go boom and they did live to it
Technically you can still explore the oceans. They haven't been completely mapped yet.
I'm kind of just waiting for an animated Stellaris movie/series now at this point with how much I enjoy these trailers
Some good writing, large budget and lots of care - and it would definitely work
Yes ! Yes! YES!
Watch The Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Yes, it's old, and yes, it's long.
But holy shit it's good, and it's the closest you'll ever see to an animated Stellaris playthrough.
The apocalyps Trailer still gives me goosebumps
@@totema6205 and the Star Eater trailer. I'm still rewatching it. Over. And over.
Whoever does the music for these trailers is awesome. I love the "Stellaris theme" that always shows up. Sometimes it's big and bombastic sometimes it's just "and then what happened?"
The music itself its another game mechanic,..thank Andreas Waldetoft
The spirit of those xenos deserve praise.
This is actually a piece of library music by martin Pietre iirc, “against all odds” the audio master person just puts the theme at the end haha, sorry to ruin the magic a but
@@catylist8378 that makes it even more magic
What happened? Its your story to tell
What gets me the most on a personal level is how one of my favorite custom empires uses this portrait. It was very moving for me to see them brought to life like that.
The Serene Republic of Birb!
The Council of Chickenia
The Saucy Council of Nugs!
Same! This was my very first simulated Universe!
Same happened to me with overlord, those fox people are my favorite
Paradox making species portraits look way better than they really are in-game, part 28.
There is one specific wallpaper of the Overlord DLC with a mammal species in hoods and I think it looks very awesome. But I think those are supposed to be either the foxes or the cats, so we will never get them. But they look so different from everything, I wish it would just be an actual new portrait.
@@Kuhmuhnistische_Partei They are indeed supposed to be the foxes, just with way more fur. And yeah, they do look great. Also something to note is that the floating figure they talk to in that cinematic is supposed to be the humanoid machine portrait.
@@Kuhmuhnistische_Partei You could potentially look through portrait mods in the Steam Workshop to get that sort of change. Can't guarantee they have that specific thing, though.
Yep. Personally i think all the portraits could use a bit of a makeover that the human portraits got
@@-Alter- thought that was the Necroid aliens that are always suspended from some crane above them.
I love these personal stories in your trailers.
0:23 "Tell us the story.."
Reminds me of that final scene of MassEffect3 where the child and old man are talking about the past like the whole thing is just a bedtime story. Great!
The stargazer, yeah. And if you choose the refuse route (not controlling, merging or destroying the reapers), the child and the man are replaced by child and adult of some unknown species that thanks to Liara's capsules, managed to defeat the Reapers 50 000 years later
"It's getting late, but... Alright. One more story."
I thought so at first too, but the voice acting and dialogue in this trailer was far better than that weird bookend to the trilogy.
It also didn't involve lore-breaking space magic that comes in three colors of bad.
@@alexschott2092 I mean, Buzz Aldrin who voiced Stargazer wasnt exactly most well known for his skill as an actor.
@@alexschott2092 I mean, imagine listening to the most epic story of an ancient/dead age, and the ending was so bad that even a child wasn't satisfied and had to ask for a different story.
"We're back! Sorry for the delay guys, long story short we were busy becoming the emperors of this galaxy. So now here's an invasion with 10x the number of land troops we had before, good luck!"
Lol. The birds are gonna have to tech rush real hard
"long story short, we don't need you people but we need the planet, here's newtron sweep"
"Wait, hang on... ... ... oh, we can use the Colossus. Cool. Tell the troops to start up some popcorn and get good seat to enjoy the fireworks."
@@StarboyXL9 the bird need to join federation, because the empire may back with colossus or worst star eater

The fact that they sent balloons around the world to advertise this DLC was so goated. Thanks Paradox!
Hold up they did what?
@@demoulius1529 It's a joke about international incidents that've been occurring.
Guys bring up this comment! It derserves it!

QUASI-STELLAR OBLITERATOR BEAM
OC: I was there that day you destroyed our city. The day you ran with your tail beneath your legs, determined to leave from your failed invasion. But not before your final act of spite as you destroyed my city, my family, MY HOME!
Evil Overlord: I do not remember that day.
OC: Y-you don't remember?!!
Evil Overlord: Of course. To you, the day our conglomerate graced your planet with our presence was the most important moment of your life. But for us, it was Tuesday.
F**k! 💔😭😭🤮😫💀
Raul made that line legendary.
This is so true.
You took everything from me.
"I dont even know who you are"
You will
"We did it! We beat back the invaders!"
My colossus: congrats
We did it we beat their great invasion force
"The 6 fleets I've had patrolling my space because I dislike people who screw up my economy"
@@Voltboy1449 or you could just enslave them because you're impressed that they succeeded in pushing back your Advanced Army so you just enslave them
My favorite thing I ever did in this game was create a diversion using Primitives. I was a Machine Empire and was dealing with a Warrior Empire that did not like me and was my rival. So I purposefully messed with a planet in an attempt to make them angry, they hated aliens after I was through with them, then i let them reach for the stars. Once they did I “lost” to them so they could have more territory and resources quicker. Now my xenophobic upstarts were ready to take on the Galaxy. I used the opportunities given to me to empower hatred in a civilization that knew no better, gave them power while letting them think they beat me, used them to upset the Galactic Community and when the opportunity was right, I “removed” my rival from their position on the Council permanently. They were right to not trust me
Those chickesn are always friendly to me in my campaigns so I'm happy for their victory in this trailer
My first game they were totally hostile to me. I completely subsumed their empire into the United Nations of Earth, but with the UNE going centuries with completely unchanged ethics and a colossal amount of new living space for their people (their planets and habitats were _severely_ overpopulated) their people have flourished to the point of being maybe in the top 4 largest populations of the UNE.
The bird people are my favorite aliens and I’m also happy they were featured in the trailer.
Every company ever: do multimilion animation sequences for full emotional impact.

@@cruelangel7737 I mean you have a point...
Thank you guys for new updates! I love to see how you continue to advance my lovely game)))
We're so glad you like it!
I like that there's an observation post hidden in the wreckage, hinting that the visitors are keeping a keen and close eye on their former subjects.

I like how they show the female alien as a child during her planet's revolt for independence, then cuts to her in the same place as an adult talking to her kids
💗💗💗💗💯😭😭 YES!
Ok that legit had me tearing up. Beautiful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Won't be as beautiful as their planet exploding.
I can't even imagine how wonderful Stellaris is. This music, this story, this visualization... this spirit... Stellaris is my favorite game. And I hope that the paradox will continue to delight us with new DLC.
These four-eyed bird people truly are one of the best portrait in the game, I love them so much…
On a completely different note, I genuinely wonder if it will be possible to play an empire on the other side, basically being MSI ourselves…
I’d be surprised if we couldn’t !
"Next time we meet them, we will be prepared"
*comes back with a colossus*
These trailers never fail to amaze me, they are so good. I honestly hope Stellaris keeps going and will have a very bright future, such a great game for story lovers and Sci-Fi/Space enthusiasts.
"Every wonder encountered shall be utilized, every terror overcome.
And when those responsible for the murder of millions are found
Every injustice will be repaid a hundred and then a thousand times over.
The entire galaxy will know that they came to the wrong neighbourhood
And knocked on the wrong door." - Greater Terran Union
The evil overlord: *LAUGHS IN PLANET GLASSER*
Gloria in Excelsis Terra
By "the next time we meet", i will have a world cracker.
Me, after godbeaming a rebellious planet back into subservience: "Rebellion, what rebellion? You merely forgotten you've repented but don't worry. You will always have a place among our galactic flock."
😭😭
And it's because of such awesome trailers I said: we are in *_serious need_* of a Stellaris action RPG in the vein of Mass Effect, The Outer Worlds or the upcoming Starfield.
I concur!
@@RealCodreX Thanks. The Stellaris multiverse has an incredible potential for storytelling -- potential that needs to be explored more often.
@@rosesareredbutzerglingssti9290 it would be really cool to show world crackers, the inter dimensional horror, titans, the Tiyanki Death World, and the Prethoryn Scourge in a game.
@@steffanyschwartz7801 Thanks.
i think it would be pretty cool if players could control a hero and explore a galaxy as a freelancer mercenary or something be a scientist and sell secrets you discover to factions etc level up you hero have it be rougelite have their kid pick up where they left off as the years pass
Your trailers are really amazing, if you'd make animated Series in that Style, Stories, you'd actually have a lot of people watching.
That trailer had something really beautiful to it with its narrating manner, I can't wait to see our roleplay options being expanded that drastically!
"Insolent feathered egglings! If you had come with us, ascension would be glorious! You would have seen Paradise through subjection and all the wonders and hedonism would have been for your taking!
But no.
Resistance. Disrespect. Retaliation. Ignorance! Hubris!
We will be back. And we will devolve your entire squawking race back into eggs and crawling flightless blind whelps where you will beg us for safety, food, shelter and the warmth of our technological gifts!
You will regret this."
THE GALACTIC IMPERIUM will act as guardian colossus weapon platforms are band for this specific reason if you want to defeat them you will do it the old ways boots on the ground!
This trailer feels like a movie trailer, I'd like a Stellaris movie someday. Can't wait to get this DLC.
Am I the only one that saw a face in the nebula at 1:41?
my gf said "I hate strategy games".
I showed her the trailers.
Now, Stellaris it's her favorite game.
I want my computer back.
Just got the game and I'm loving it, maybe in the future there could be some dlc to look deeper into planetary invasions, it would be cool to customize how your troops look and have a role in deciding the outcome of a invasion
YES! Preorder! Gonna make a series out of this DLC! And you made me cry once again with the trailer!!!
Those stealth ships look amazing!
What stealth ships-

*OOOOOOOOOOH*
This brought me almost to tears. It is simple, but very clear, like a child`s mind.
I love this game and the stories it can tell
I love hearing the leitmotiv of Creation and Beyond at the end of each trailer
0:30
All normal players: oh so cute
All followers of the Emperor: Xeno target hooked!
"Get the Flamer! The *Heavy* Flamer!"
Funny thing is if this was humans they would’ve just nuked the planet from orbit lmao

They think they’re prepared when they almost lost to a single army, whileI have 20000 ready and a million more on the way.
These Trailers are so well made. I can't think of any other game where I come back every now and then just to watch their old trailers. Shoutout to everyone involved in making these amazing cinematics
"But next time... we will be prepared"
Meanwhile: "Hey guys! Those cheap contractors got stomped... Should we send in the actual military?"
"Next time they come here, we will be prepared."
Me: Oh, I don't think so.
*charges up neutron sweep*
I can only hope that the team at Paradox upholds the Prime directive. We cannot possibly violate the ideals that we all hold dear, the very foundation of the Federation.
👀...the Prime what now?
ideally you should be able to both follow the prime directive AND enact Exterminatus against the foul xenos
Anyone else get the Greater Terran Union vibes?
I love how the leitmotif, or jingle, or whatever at the end is less jubilant then the first trailer for this story pack, nice touch
damn, sucks that even Paradox themselves sleep on the "friendly federation builder forerunner" type of empire that has over 10 protectorates and controls the biggest federation in the galaxy.
That makes for a boring story unless you throw in conspiracies to proclaim the Imperium (Star Wars style) OR you're seeing the story from the big bad's point of view.
@@StarboyXL9 that moment when you don't actually knlw how to economy so your biggest fleet is 5k, while everyone else is already at 30k, but you know damn well no one can declare war on you cause the sheer amount of allies you have place your economic and fleet power level as overwhelming.
also, it was far from boring, I just wasn't the main character and ended up dying to the contigency cause I had a rematch with a fallen empire, the machine fallen empire went rogue and the contigency was kicking our asses (because you can't "har counter" contigency fleets)
Avian primitives: we repulsed the attack of alien invaders!
MSI colossus and 275 fleet power: I DON'T THINK SO
“The entire galaxy will know that they came to the wrong neighbourhood, and knocked on the wrong door.”
We will fight for the citizen rights of every thinking species in the galaxy!!! We will fight for democracy and hope!!!
I see these first contact trailers and think about how cool the lives of primitives must be and then remember the one time a 40k Military Strength Nanite fleet took my friends star system and orbitally bombarded his primitive planet to glass
a year later: hey whats that big thing in the sky, adult bird: oh no! collosus: charges
I honestly thought that there was going to be a collosus popping up at the end of the trailer for a morbid ending.
March 14th ?! That's my birtday ! Thanks for the wonderful birthdaypresent Paradox ! XD
🎉 Happy future birthday!

*fireworks explode*
Damn, the birds pulled an independance day
I would have actually died if in the ending you could see a colossus slowly aproaching lmao
I haven't played the game regularly on about two years time but I still love every little bit of it.
Stars above _yes!_ This is what I've been wanting since the moment Stellaris came out. I absolutely love uplift and first contact stories and the like, so I've been dreaming about being able to experience that sort of thing in Stellaris in more depth than a few button presses. The amount of immersion this will bring is just wonderful! Thank you devs!!!
Awesome work, yet again!

They die free!
Easily my favorite trailer so far. I really enjoyed federations trailer when that came out but, man! This is the best so far!
I absolutely love the slow piano version of the Stellaris theme at the end.
Thank you, Stellaris team. You are the best.
Stuff like these amkes me wish there was a novel based on one of the Stellaris trailers.
"We forced them off our home"
Them: Ok, bring in the planet destroyer. We are done with those bird brains.
Earth meme : "Hello Boy ...I'm back!!"
2 centuries ago, we defeated them. For 2 hundred years we expanded our technology.
Today we embrace the words our ancestors clinged to: "Vido Confido"
The Imperium of Mankind would like to know your Star System coordinates.
Экстерминатус?
They need to start releasing the trailer themes along side the trailers
You legit need to add trailer musics for the in-game player.
Illidan: YOU WERE NOT PREPARED!
The Greater Terran Union never forgets.
These trailers just keep getting better with each DLC. Keep up the good work, guys.
hope stellaris add a movie or an anime for its fan community with different stories and episodes a movie or a story of different types of civilization struggles and success
The independence day references went BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
When stellaris invicta is so good they make an origin matching the story
This reminds me a bit of Independence Day: Resurgence. They had two decades to prepare following the first alien invasion, and thought themselves ready for them if they ever returned. But we all know how that went.
This is a very nice trailer.
Now I guess I'll have to wait until March the 14th to see how this expansion turned.
Its nice to have a release date.
Perfection I love the avian races now I get to see the little bird children too!
Congratulations, you are being enlightened. Please do not resist.
The crave it gave me to see a movie with details and history at the Stellaris level
Bird natives: the line must be drawn HERE. THIS FAR; NO FURTHER!
This has got to be one of the most awaited updates for me! I really look forward to this update's release. Impress me!
HUGE Greater Terran Union vibes.
TERRA VICTOR!
Stellaris Invicta vibes. Like. So much. Can't wait to play it
Quite the bedtime story.
Definitely the most badass Stellaris trailer so far.
Say hello to the opening of Independence Day - Stellaris edition!
WE WILLL BE PREPARED!!!
I am really looking forward to it!!! I just hope the developers are still working on the game speed. At the end of the game it runs even at the fastest level, like at the beginning at normal speed. That's pretty annoying then.
First and last Contact: Why the sky is filled of metal trash and that Waggggggggggghhhh is getting louder?????
I am definitely excited to see how this plays out. I like playing civilizations like the Convenant of Halo where there is a clear hierarchy among the species as well as roles of who does what. This DLC will likely help make grooming certain species for ideal roles more satisfying
Goddamn that musical motif at the ending gets me every time
The space-chickens are hardcore, man!
Hello, Commander. In response to the alien threat, this council of nations has convened to approve the activation of the XCOM Project. You have been chosen to lead this initiative. To oversee our first, and last line of defense. Your efforts will have considerable influence on this planet's future. We urge you to keep that in mind as you proceed. Good luck commander.
(Yes, I know that's the Enemy Unknown intro while this origin is closer to XCOM 2 if anything else. Point is, this is effectively the "XCOM Origin".)
It would be hilarious if XCOM could show up when you're trying to 'uplift' a world ala Advent (your ethics is Xenophobe or authoritarian) and try to free their species from your clutches.
We will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish without a fight. We're gonna live on. We're gonna survive. Today, we celebrate, our Independence Day
This really make me wish i born at the age of galactic exploration😃
