great vid Baradul, glad to have you back ATM3's short cooldown is really great also note they're not in the same ghost heat group as ATM6, which kinda hit a sweet spot in terms of ATM DPS. so in your summoner you can alpha strike 6 ATM3 & 2 ATM6 with no ghost heat personally I don't like how TAGs give away your position, but in order to free up the extra ton you could just run c-light TAG & c-light AP. I like how the lighter toys encourage you to get closer with your ATMs so you're in the 3dmg sweet spot. Timber Wolf H is perhaps the best build for this: b=8659e885_TBR-HLGD as it has a MASC, & that 80% ATM range quirk :-) Bonus: 4 LMGs for anything that tries to underrun your ATMs (plus unlike the Summoner it looks cool :-)
Made me look up the Summoner build I made years ago. Summoner F: ATM 12, 3 mpl, and two machine guns, with LOTS of jumping. It was surprisingly effective, but that was years ago. I should probably revise it. You benefited from the Summoner effect, where no one takes you seriously as a threat because you are in a summoner! 😄 So you get to fire away as they target other things and wonder where all that damage is coming from.
you should have waited till after tomorrows patch to showcase this one, atm 3 and lrm 5 are getting a buff, you will be able to fire 7 with no ghost heat. since your just discovering summoners you should give the c varient a look, lbx 20 cooldown is yenlo wang crazy
I think a summoner was a free-mech once upon a time, so I kinda ended up doing one that had 10x LRM-5, kinda just for the heck of it. It was pretty funny to just chainfire three weapon groups at a time. This here seems like a very nice alternative, in case I want to dust off that mech and give it a spin again.
I have been trying this build for the last few days and it's so fun. I initally used an ER-Large laser in the left arm for some ranged poking, but swapped to a Heavy Large for a bit more alpha damage.
Been running this same loadout for a couple of months now, but with a different omnipod setup (still 8x ATM3 and TAG, but with the TAG torso mounted and one ATM3 per arm) - SMN-G with the arms from the SMN-B. Very rarely have bad rounds in this - every now and then you find lights that know to close into minimum range, but they usually aren't so good at keeping perfectly beneath the mech when you jump and you can rain missiles onto them. This mech is the reason I'm excited for the ECM nerf / ATM/LRM buff. Build code for how I have mine setup, in case you want to play with it without having to risk losing TAG on one arm or 2x launchers on the other: Aa=L
@WoWoverlord It was the patch earlier this week. For ECM, the range at which it jams sensors or protects allies was reduced from 120m to 90m, which doesn't sound like much, but translates into almost half the total area being covered by a single 1-ton ECM.
Lately I've loved my Black Lanner with ATM 3's, you may only get 4 of them, but then you also get ECM, Probe, TAG, and the ability to sprint at 150kph. Only disappointing part is it's named after a bird and yet no Lanner gets jumpjets.
I run this thing just about every day, you probably saw me on it. You were in the Jenner on bearclaw if you were talking about the game when you were with battlemech operational. But I run it with one narc, and a med laser and tag in an arm, and a beagle active probe, it's amazing, also take narc skill, fun fact you can add a face decal right on the cockpit and it looks funny. This thing is essentially a direct missile duelist
I've been using a similar build for awhile, though I use the summoner g &swap the arm ATMs for a pair of heavy mediums. Slightly less ranged damage but higher overall & strretches the ammo supply better (those 3s cycle quick!). It is a lot of fun & works great for chasing & killing light mechs!
I'd say the range nodes are super important for atm's because it increases the range that they will be doing max damage or even 2nd tier damage. The extra max range is just a bonus but the sweet spot damage is where it's at!
I love ATM Huntsmen and Hunchback II for the same reasons as yours on this mech so idk why I have never tried the same build on a Summoner. I run 3xATM9 on those but the new patch decoupling the ATM3 and LRM5 from the the other launchers on the heat scale limit will change this

Ltpoohpants has a vid on his channel outing them, would appreciate if you could help bring attention to them but would understand if you don't want that on your channel. We should not let them ruin the community.
I run this build with streaks instead of ATMs when I want to hunt lights. I do wish they would let streaks dumb fire like ATMs because I am helpless against stealth mechs.
They are so evil them 3 ATM spammers! You should get help and push as fast as possible, more dangerous than LRM due to how they seem to center more on your center vs LRMs
I want to make a bit of a guess here. Do you map your tag to 4 and not 3 because you have a mouse similar to the g600, and keeping your thumb lower is better than having it up higher? Or am I completely speculating XD
man id like to try this build. ever since one of the recent updates i cant even get the game to work, just disconnects me right as the game is starting so that not only do i wait the whole time but my mech is unavailable and my team has my idle mech standing there. anyone else having this much trouble? i miss playing :(
A fast mech with lots of ATM3 and ammo bins sounds annoying. Network with the team and spam indirect fire on everything spotted, then blast down light mechs trying to retaliate and outrun everything else. Wonder if some SRMs to pull out for brawls would be profitable in the arm. Because you already have highly flexible weapons in the other slots, and a bit of short range power to knock out a light mech would probably be useful.

I have similar MDD-A and MDD-RV builds which boat ATM3s and man, that spread on them with the TAG spread buff is incredible.

This is interesting built, since my missile Summoner do not have the torso missile hard points yet.

atm's are just crazy. Have seen a build with 9x atm3's on a summoner once, that was way too annoying

It's a bit hot, but otherwise pretty fun.

I think you'd get better heat mitigation from cool run + max heat than from doing all heat gen nodes. because you're only getting .6% instead of .75%

Can't you cram 10 ATM3s onto a Summoner with light tag and a light active probe? Just wondering.
The low arms on the summoner make it a hard mech for me to justify using.
It doesnt matter as much for missiles especially with jump jets
