    It's critical you check your Nitro RC car before you drive it for the first time. Here's the step-by-step process to go through to make sure the car is setup correctly out of the box from the factory.

    I've had my Neo 3.0 for 2 years and never checked the failsafe until today. All good and much appreciate the video. So many people just tear open the box and go to town without reading the manuals or heeding your advice. Thanks

    Very good video. The end points are very important as is the failsafe. I own this exact vehicle and have run at least 5 Gal. thru it with no problems. Tip: I use a standard paper clip (usually .6mm) to set the idle gap. It works just fine as a gauge.

    Good advice 👍 But with nitro you should have a throttle return spring just in case the receiver loses power from the battery pack and there's nothing to move the servo into the failsafe position 👍

      @vivos71 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Failsafes serve that purpose these days. But still a good idea in case of a linkage failure

      @michaelinzitari ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vivos71 actually you need an electronic fail safe and you need a throttle return spring and you need elastic on carb boot.

    I would also move the banjo fitting at the carb, re-orientate it to the tank so it doesn't come into contact with the cylinder head fins.

    For the cheap 4 AA battery thing, put a return spring on the carb JIC one of those batteries pop out ....or you're gonna have a full throttle runaway

    For a monster truck like a savage you don't want to set the fail safe to 100% brake as it will flip over. You will need to set it to apply around 25-33% or 1/4-1/3 braking that will slow it down but not crash it out of control :)

    • @BASSstarlet
      @BASSstarlet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly that happened in my 4.6 at the first runs!Then i adjust the brakes so to not demolish the body :)

      I actually pulled one of the brake pads on my Savage!

    Solid advise! At 8:15 - be careful when doing this on brushless cars! If you lose connection when the car is driving, it will probably just apply maximum braking power. But if you lose connection when the car is stationary with it's last known input being a braking signal, it'll go into reverse at full power! Ask me how I know :P These cars usually aren't equipped with mechanical disk brakes, so it's just engine braking.
    I set mine to neutral, so it just rolls out. But of course, you could just disable the reverse function and then set the fail safe to full brake :)

    Does the MP9 tank have a clunk? If not how does running that short of a fuel line fare when upside-down?

    Hey I got this two days ago and every time I start it it stalls 5-20 seconds later. Wheels don’t spin either. No idea what’s going on. I’m not that good with nitro, can someone help me? Using Traxxas 20% fuel, does that matter?

      Open low end needle Abt half turn counterclockwise, and high speed needle Abt 10 to 15 minutes like on a clock......you're running too lean, it's starving for fuel....open those needles to let fuel in...20 nitro is good, 30 percent for racing....check factory settings on carb needles from closed to how many turns out they should be for break in...my guess low end Abt 2 1/2 turns out and high end Abt 3.5 turns or 4. ....it'll be rich but good starting point.....check manual n see😊
