We are restoring a 1995 16 ft travel trailer. Used the roof sealant you did and it has worked fantastic! Thanks for sharing your journey, and keep smiling! 😂😂😂
That's awesome! We're happy with our roof so far too. We did just notice some cracking where we went over eternabond tape with the rubber coating. We're thinking either there was moisture taped near the tape or maybe just the moisture from the tape itself caused a couple issues. We put a little eternakote patch over it and seems good. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project!
Hi! I just discovered you and have watched back to back with more to come. I'm restoring my 73' Dodge Tioga mostly by myself. Won't be as good as yours but you are helping me figure stuff out 😊 I really enjoy everything.
Haberdashery - I believe it’s where men go for their hats. In the good old days there used to be a back room, and they had sewing machines and other instruments that they used to curve the brims of the hats and all of that other stuff. And I believe also, it was usually men who worked on the hats. Great video! I thought my teeth were gonna shatter with that screeching of the belt. Watch out for those walnuts! Those things are deadly!💜
After my uncle's motorhome caught fire, my dad made a 2" hole in the doghouse of his and installed a threaded electrical cap with a bead chain hanger. If your engine catches fire you grab your fire extinguisher and shoot it into the hole. A monumental task you are doing. Good videos.👍
I didn’t have confidence that the dish soap was going to work Christy….but why would I doubt you? I should know better! HarVy is looking so good! Love it!
You both have the plan in your mind before you even accomplish it. And that's the type of person that I am. I see something before I put it together or as i'm going along! Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the final outcome! If you take apart that corner that you had cut off for that pipe, you can re. Apply it by unstitching it and then sewing it in the opposite direction. Also also with the strings that are afraid on the edges instead of putting the tape on it. Because it's gonna be stationary. All you really have to do is just melt it with a little bit of heat. And that will prevent those edges from ever framing again..
Yes, the most rewarding part is when the image from your mind turns into something real! Not everyone's minds work like that... people like us and you are lucky 😁. Thanks for the tips about the couch too, love learning new things!
You made me chuckle when the walnuts were dive bombing you 😂. Keep up the great work, can't wait to watch the next Installment. Here in West Sussex in the UK, we are having a beautiful Indian sumer, 25c today whoop whoop, long may it last.
Thank you for sharing your time I'm in The Philippines from Canada I have been up your way many times Beautiful country in a cross that machina many many times retired truck driver keep up the good work love watching your blog
Ralf is a good oldie name for the Holiday Rambler. If it helps my Grate Gram-pa Ralf liked to ramble on. Hollie the holiday rambler is another good one.
Again we love watching y'all in this build and want to see you get started on (Reba the Rambler). We think she would look great being pulled by Harvey. Keep on praising the Lord for what he has allowed you to get accomplished doing what you like to do.
I couldn’t stop laughing…. “C’mon”………… “feel the noise” 😂😂 glorious. Speaking in sound effects. Well once you “schwaq”😂 next to the “cracccck” 😂. No matter how stressful my day has been this couple makes me smile. OMGGGGGGGG the Bougerv aspen 40!! I’ve been dying to find out information on this fridge! I want to by one hopefully for Black Friday for when I go camping. But there’s no damn information on this fridge. PLEASE tell me how you like it! Give the honest rundown on it pretty please with sugar on top 😁 “I didn’t invent numbers” 😂 I will use that.
Thanks for the awesome comment 😊 We appreciate the encouragement. So, the Aspen 40, so far so good! Spoiler alert... we just took it camping because we didn't get the fridge installed yet and it worked great! It was nice that our food could stay cold even when we unplugged the RV to hit the town. Long story short, too soon to tell about longevity but we like it so far. Considering not even adding the fridge we bought but, with 4 of us, we think we might want the extra space even if it's just for beverages 🥳 We'll keep you posted.
@retrorevivals just a tip, my uncle was a professional upholsterer and I sew. We would share tips now and then. If you need more fabric for the cushions...I know ts work...but you could seam rip ( do not cut with scissors!)the backside of one of the sofas and replace it with similar color fabric. It would be better to have the cushions match perfect....than to have matching backs. The backside is usually one solid piece of fabric or 2 large lieced together. Just an FYI. My uncle used to run into that quite often with older furniture that he repaired.
Love your channel! Based on where I think you are located, we aren’t that far from y’all! We might just see you at Metamora one of these days!! Can’t wait for your 1st overnight in Harvey!!
Wow guys, awesome work. Purchased 1992 Telstar, working on it with a small budget and inexperienced. I’m in NY, help me, please!!! I’m your next project.
So my cousin's name was Harvey. He was a great guy just like that R. V! Well. Harvey had a mom and her name was Gertrude, but she only liked gurty and she was my grandmother's sister. So maybe hurdy gurdy, because old boy all of the discomfort and accord that you have gone through. While working the r, v, imagine what you're gonna go through with the trailer!?
Hey another great video!! Nice move with the couch makeover, you gave me ideas. I think a good name for the camper is Hazel. You know Hazel and Harvey. Goes great together. Wishing you good luck and lots of deserved fun on the camping trip!! Keep on smiling!! 😁🤗
"HR Nightmare" might be a good name for the Holiday Rambler........Just kidding. Seriously though, you guys need to be commended for your unwielding perseverance working on Harvey! I would have thrown in the towel long ago. Harvey is looking great!
Thanks so much for watching! Tell your friends too 😂. We did name the Holiday Rambler, she's Ladybird 💙 Hoping to be back soon with a new Ladybird video 🎉
Sorry you had trouble going to see the twins! Hopefully things are fixed now. I grew up in Michigan and we went camping every summer, we had a big 3 room tent. We always stayed in State parks. I grew up in the Lapeer area, lived part of the time with a North Branch address,we always lived in the country. I miss the colors as we moved to Texas in 1981 and stayed here. How about naming the Holiday Rambler "Holly" or "Rambo"?
@@retrorevivals it IS a small world indeed. I haven't been back to Michigan for many years and I don't miss it. Texas has so many different types of land where you can live. East Texas is probably most like Michigan, we are in Central Texas which is drier and higher elevation. The big trees around here are Post Oaks (which is what we have on our land) or Live Oaks, or trees like Pecan trees which are huge and beautiful. We live on 17 acres of coastal grass which is the most common hay. We have about 50 trees and a pond at the back of the property. We are in cattle country here, lots of farmers, wonderful people!
@@retrorevivals the only thing is, none of the trees are back there, you would be in the hot sun back there! The trees are on the front of the property. We have an RV, a 5th wheel. Rarely used now.
Congratulations!!!!! You really work hard and play hard. I wish you could get my Dad's old 1987 Mallard Sprinter on the road. I think it only has 700 miles on it. It is beat up, though. I love your videos.
My Dad had me go with him to pick it out. Having 5 girls and my Mom, he decided we should get one with a separate bathroom . We never liked the folding doors next to the bedroom. now mind you he bought this being retired. We traveled a bit and parked it for a season on a manmade lake. It was a beautiful site. Then Dad parked in the backyard and moved in because he could smoke out there. Mom loved that. Mom passed away. Dad said he would leave me the trailer. One sister lives in my parents house . I try to keep the pool going. I store all the pool stuff in there. It makes me sad how time and animals ruin these vehicles. I get to watch you live a dream ,I will never get to do. You make me happy to see old stuff can come back to life!!! Love you both and the kids!!! P.S. Maybe I could send you Pictures. How do I do that?@@retrorevivals
Here in Texas we have Belt dressing at the parts house. comes in a spray can, great for slipping belts. I really like you guys vids. keep them comeing.
Hi friends what a gorgeous idea surprising your twins with a cake at college and having a family party in Harvey you must have a talk with Harvey to behave himself on your journey, I bet the twins are going to be very surprised when you turn up in Harvey hope jts a successful adventure fir your family wish the twins happy birthday from me.
I was having trouble finding this video again lol I was mentioning if you put an amp gauge in and you can coincide that with the whining of the belt I believe that if you are pulling too many amps off your alternator especially if it's not high amp alternator you may have to put a double belt setup to handle the pole like ambulances they put two alternators because of all the electronics your 440 would guarantee pole a 100 amp alternator easily just thought Hope this might help ps especially if your refrigerator kicks on and you hear that whining that may make a connection
Thanks so much for the comment! That was something that didn't occur to us at the time. We were pretty much on panic mode trying not to be late to see the kids. We were able to get it to stop yelling by tightening the belt but it's something we'll keep in mind if we have alternator issues down the road. Thanks for watching!
We'll need to pick a name soon... a lot of votes for Rose or Rosie and a few for Holly. I think it really depends on what color we decide for the exterior! Stay tuned!
im from michigan if you have any UTV or ATV look up Leota ORV Trailhead its a smooth sport to either drag or drive something to camp in or look up wilson state park
@retrorevivals These trails are big enough for a sized vehicle to get down them as well, so if you wanted to tow a Chevy tracker or sidekick or another small vehicle that is possable plus the or laws are based upon wheel base example 4 seater side by side are to long they have to stick to wide truck trailes 2 seater side-by-side they are shorter and can take any trail also you can drag the truck but really limited trail expince
Thanks for the comment! We did finally clean the windshield. It was nasty. Camping was a blast! We can't wait to take it out again. We've got a lot more projects to do and the weather's changing so it might be spring before our next camping trip. Thanks for watching!
"I thought this was going to be easy." 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Tyler is so funny!! HaRVey the RV is back on the road!! Good work all around! The twins had to be incredibly crushed and disappointed he didn't show up for their birthday party. Everyone knows every collage student wants their parents showing up on campus in a 47 year old motor home for their birthday. Hopefully they've gotten through that terrible loss. BTW...no one has ever mentioned twins before...just saying. This was news. Just a little more make up and HaRVey is going to be looking showroom new!! Can't wait to see his final reveal!! And helloooooooooo.....it seems incredibly obvious.... Ramblin' Rosie. C'mon now. What else are you going to name a 70's Holiday Rambler??? Have a great weekend at the state park!!
That's again for the comment! The twins were very disappointed but somehow survived. We didn't mention twins before? I guess we probably didn't... we mentioned our oldest two were graduating then going off to college I think at one point but they were busy with their own lives and whatnot and not involved much with ol Harvey. Several votes for Rose or Rosie... oh boy, gets me thinking of that song, Second Hand Rose. We really want to try to stick to a budget for this one (and sort of have to since Harvey has been so expensive), so secondhand shops would be in the plans for the Rambler to repurpose some items. Hmmm, we'll see!
I wonder if you would have unplugged your refrigerator cooler it seems like the alternator is pulling way too much amperage causing the belt to slip if you would have tooken away most of your power going to the alternator as you could have it probably would have made the trip usually a high amp alternator has two belts on it most motorhomes jump up to two belts I would change the situation over to a double belt or a single wide belt kit
Thanks so much for the comment! That was something that didn't occur to us at the time. We were pretty much on panic mode trying not to be late to see the kids. We were able to get it to stop yelling by tightening the belt but it's something we'll keep in mind if we have alternator issues down the road.
Just put on some headphones and pretend you're on an important conference call 😂 Yes, we like the way Sleeperdude does the short clips in his intro. We've seen a couple channels do that 👍👍

You guys are adorable! The camper at your aunts house looks gold to me, so I would name it Goldie. Love your videos!

I have a Fancy Aunt Nancy. I approve this name for the Rambler 😂

That 440 is tired I know it's expensive but harv may need a engine rebuild at some point I will say uv done a masterful job

Just found yalls videos cant get enought been binge watching them, but if the other camper dont have a name definitely giving off maRV or maRVin vibes
Oooooh, MaRVin... good suggestion! We're happy you found the channel. Thanks for watching, new video just out today!
Use magnets on your cabinet doors to keep them closed
Yes! We bought some, just haven't had time to install them yet 😩
Harvey is looking great
Thank you!
yawl doing so good with Ol Harvy and you should put the same paint job on the rambler
Thank you! We're not sure about paint yet for rambler, we're considering red and white 🤷🏼♀️
You guys have had so many good ideas with this redo. I am so impressed. I can't wait to see it all finished. Great job!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!!
I’d love to see you guys do an old Winnebago.
Ooh, that would be fun! We have a couple projects coming up but a Winnebago would be fun to tackle in the future. Thanks for watching!
You are so brave to cut up those sofas! Just cutting fabric gives me anxiety...lol
It was definitely a leap of faith! They turned out pretty good though! Still need to make one more cushion :-) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Sounds like your power steering belt is screaming...check the belt and the pump,
It is a little... that pump is pretty old but still working for now. The main scream was the alternator belt 😵💫
I really enjoy your videos! I was laughing at the screeching and your face!
😂 It was so tense!
Love your channel! Based on where I think you are located, we aren’t that far from y’all! We might just see you at Metamora one of these days!! Can’t wait for your 1st overnight in Harvey!!
Thanks so much! Watch for us tooling around Michigan in ol Harvey 😁😁
Wow guys, awesome work. Purchased 1992 Telstar, working on it with a small budget and inexperienced. I’m in NY, help me, please!!! I’m your next project.
It would be fun once we get our projects under control if we could be able to hit the road to help other people with their projects!

im from michigan if you have any UTV or ATV look up Leota ORV Trailhead its a smooth sport to either drag or drive something to camp in or look up wilson state park
Thanks! We don't have any off road vehicles at this point though 😕
@@retrorevivals dnr rules and regs also tells you you can camp on state land for up to 14 days www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/orv-riding/rules
What about Hollie for your holiday camper
Ooh, a few votes for Hollie now, thanks!
might be a good idea to clean youeinside and outside windsheild lol hope your camping went well
Thanks for the comment! We did finally clean the windshield. It was nasty. Camping was a blast! We can't wait to take it out again. We've got a lot more projects to do and the weather's changing so it might be spring before our next camping trip. Thanks for watching!
My chevy van is doing that squealing, I'm told its the steering column actually. Havent fixed it yet.
Could be... our power steering pump in still squeaking a bit but nothing like the scream from the alternator belt.
@@retrorevivals yeah I think after watching the whole video I'm going to have to check our alternator too. Though ours is diesel.
I cant figure out the material of the couches…. Leather? They are super nice! ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks! It's a sort of vinyl. A lot of RV furniture is this stuff now. Very washable.
It sounds like harvey needs some w d 40
Among other things 😂
You guys did great work!
Thank you so much 😀
How about FLO "Go with the Flow".
Good one! Thank you!
Great job!!
Thank you!
and you still did'ent open the foot vents still lol
Oh my gosh 😂😂, completely forgot about those already! Ugh!
You’re on to something, but I think just ‘Ramblin’ Rose’ would flow better.

@@retrorevivals You're welcome. It's in my contract. I'm required to like and comment on every Retro video posted. Just doing my job.🤭
❤❤❤
Rambler name suggestion : Eloise... EL-OH-EEZ
Great suggestion! Thank you!
when's the next video?
@@retrorevivals
One out yesterday and we're working on trying to have another out soon! Thanks for watching!
Keep it up!! Been wanting to do a similar RV project. We will learn through your mistakes...LOL

Great suggestion! Thank you!
No captions available? Love it anyway!
Lighting is very dramatic!
Thanks! We have it set to automatically apply captions but I think it takes TH-cam a little time to add them after we publish.
Just turn the radio up until you don't hear it anymore 😂
But we don't have a radio yet 😂
Holly the holiday rambler
Great suggestion! Thank you!
Why couldn't you raise the vent
The foot vent? We forgot all about it 😂
How about rambo
Thank you for the suggestion!
I can't watch this because I'm stuck at work, but the intro sounds alot like Sleeperdudes intro the first time...
Just put on some headphones and pretend you're on an important conference call 😂 Yes, we like the way Sleeperdude does the short clips in his intro. We've seen a couple channels do that 👍👍
