For one lets not forget how all the other hawaiians opposed king Kamehameha and his conquest to establish the kingdom of hawaii... a bloody violent conquest.. in fact if he succeeded in conquering kauai I probably wouldn't exist.. nor would many of my ancestors up to that point.. the kingdom of hawaii didnt even exist a full century.. its about as fake of a kingdom as locals now call this a fake state.. whether annexed or conquered one is as legit as the other.. far less hawaiians died from annexing of hawaii than did due to the creation of the hawaiian kingdom.. king Kamehameha came to power via being a bully.. my ancestors of kauai came to power via feeding all of polynesia.. it was my ancestors that went to south america and got sweet potatoes and also took wives back to Polynesia.. its literally in my dna.. the kingdom of hawaii was the detriment of the hawaiian people and culture.. you can blame white men all you want.. but the fact remains.. every kingdom depends on finances and trade deals.. king david Kalakaua bankrupt the hawaiian kingdom.. then the business men demanded what was promised.. this is why you dont live in debt.. whether a private citizen or a whole kingdom.. hawaiians lost their lands because of king david Kalakaua.. its called the great mahele.. google it.. and the only reason they lost their lands was because majority of hawaiians couldnt read nor write to sign declarations.. so queen liliuokalani in retrospect created the king Kamehameha schools.. so hawaiians could learn to read and write.. because the only true power is knowledge..
I don't know your family history but all I can say is that yes there were tribal wars before the modern times started. Hawaii and the USA had official relations and the USA broke that in a dirty way....
@thecluelesstraveller no they didnt.. crown lands still exist. Therefor the kingdom still kind of exists.. therefor the USA only annexed part of hawaii.. the good or bad of it is only perspective and opinion..

Surprisngly I am Dutch infact, altough it's not as thick as some of my counterparts have it haha

Is your family so important? What’s your family’s name?
