- Same-Sex Marriage Case: The Supreme Court begins hearing a batch of requests seeking legal recognition of same-sex marriages, a day after the government reiterated its opposition to any such legal move. Arguing against legal sanction to gay marriages, the centre yesterday termed such requests as "mere urban elitist views for social acceptance".

I lived in Europe, here same gender marriages are common and people don't look down upon them. I had a male colleague who had a husband, they are absolutely normal people, very profession at work, hardworking, helpful, polite with everyone. Also in ancient India it was widely accepted, can be seen sculptures on Khajuraho and Orrisa, Sun Temple. Live and let live. Everyone has right to love and be loved.

Growing up we are taught that a Marriage is between 2 souls. Then we are taught that souls don’t have a gender. Our body is one we’ll discard/shed. So what’s the problem? Let 2 souls marry irrespective of gender. There’s an existing special marriage act, just let it be between any 2 persons. Genders are temporary because this body is temporary. Atleast that’s how I see it.

What is wrong with the Deuteronomy Book. Taking the same analogy, shouldn't we be addressing the lgbtq problems without amending the marriage system, but genuinely through other means.
Some of the genuine means I think of are, a. Educating the people, both lgbtq and the rest of others, b. Strict implementation of the Law and order in this regard, c. Making specific amendments to laws such as adoption, inheritance, tax laws etc. without legalizing the marriage
