Jesse Spencer is such a good actor (this scene in particular). The way he cries when the doctor gives him the news is absolutely heartbreaking. And then when Mills walks over to take him from the doctor and gives him a supporting hug is so poignant. Firefighters really are a band of brothers. This show is so awesome.
You’re still supposed to do CPR on someone that’s asystolic. It’s not a shockable rhythm so you’ve got to continue cpr until you get to someone that’s able to pronounce death (I work in the ambulance service in the uk). But yeah, it’s awful and so sad. Casey’s actor did one hell of a job with those sobs and the clinging to the doctor and mills. I’ve seen the way people react to that sort of news and honestly the sounds of his sobs here are almost identical to the sobs of family members I’ve had to tell who’s loved one we weren’t able to resuscitate. It’s so haunting.

I feel so bad for Casey. Losing a loved one is one of the worst things someone could go through. I lost my great grandma 2 years ago and I’m still not over it. She was the reason why I started loving myself but a few months after she passed away, I fell into a deep depression and lost that ability once again
Well.. Think about her, would she be happy if you went into depression? Wouldn't of she had the chance to say, Be happy, smile. (Think about what she would've wanted, im sure she would have NOT wanted you to go into depression!)

Yeah this scene is very heavy the overall somberness has unsettling all of Casey's brothers and sisters at the fire hall roll there with them the way Casey was aimlessly just pacing back and forth
I've seen this episode and it was so sad I've never seen casey so sad but I still love chicago fire and I always will keep up the good work (edit: thank you all guys for 87 likes 👍 I've never had this many lol)

Casey and Severide are like brothers they've gone through so much, some good and some very bad Andrew Darden was like a brother to them aswell and when they lost him it put them both in a bad place Casey then loses his girlfriend in a fire, and a year later Severide loses Shay who was practically like a sister to him in an arson explosion They may love this job but it really has taken alot from them.

This episode ripped my heart out, And that was the time Voight was giving Casey a very hard time over his son's drink driving
this was months after but Voight had just came out of prison and the two of them were both really worried!
