      No, it won’t be the same but it will be very cool because the looper just goes with you get it, if you give it a “volume swell”, it will loop
      It and I would create a bunch of beautiful loops, in different keys of course or at least a variety in their structure and then you can save it and play them “live” in performance. Good luck and thanks Perry nice work it would be nice if you can explain how that work. How the empty look work what is actually happening within the machine?

    Can you achieve the same benefit if you have a looper set to Record:Record:play instead of Record:play:record?

    • @PerryFrank
      @PerryFrank  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably not, every looper has a minimum gap when you push the button. I've tried the Boss, Boomerang, Tc Electronic, Nux, Mooer and in the mode record-record-play there's however a little gap. I think the only way to hide it if you want to use it that way is to put the reverb after the looper and increase the mix of the reverb.

  • @TheLordcasio

    I never had Gaps in my loops. I use a Gt1 only 30 second. Sadly. Perhaps people aren't timing their loops? Or I missundertand ? Anyway I do things my own way and maybe thats a bad thing but I explore and so far I am in love with ambient blues atmos I create. Its a reflection of my inner self or emotions. Im not like most ambient channels. Some are more airy than others. But I use only Valhalla for my creations...reverb wise. Thanks for a great video!

  • @danielleinad6019
    @danielleinad6019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As I understand it, the reason for recording an empty loop is the gap between the end of the first loop and the repeat. So far so good. The second loop is an overdub, right? But why is there no audible gap when the overdub ends and starts all over again? The overdub has the same length as the first loop, so shouldn't there also be a gap or a "hard cut" when the overdub repeats itself? I've never used a looper for recording drone sounds (reverb/delay into the looper), so I'm totally unexperienced.

    • @PerryFrank
      @PerryFrank  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You've said you don't use a looper to create drones. So, tell me, which gear do you use?

    • @danielleinad6019
      @danielleinad6019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perry Frank I've been listening to ambient music for more than 15 years, but I'm relatively new to pure guitar ambient music. I want to explore this territory and I know that the looper is an essential part.
      I've got a delay and several pitch shifters, but I'm still not sure which looper I want to have on my board. The empty loop method is absolutely new to me, that's why I was asking my question (see above).
      I've always wondered what's the best method to create lush sound textures with the looper at the end of the chain. With that being said, I've never created drone sounds with my guitar, but I want to be able to do so.

    • @PerryFrank
      @PerryFrank  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danielleinad6019 ok man, buy a looper and try this method, you can make drone sounds with a cheap looper too. All you need is to play and make experiments.

    • @danielleinad6019

    Tutto bello tranne che il reverbero non è per niente budget a 200 euro. Cmq hai qualche video in cui usi anche il chorus visto che tra le tue influenze figura il più grande utilizzatore di questo effetto (a mio avviso), ovvero Robin Guthrie nei Cocteau Twins.
