    It was good to get an idea of how the RS3 costs compares to my Mustang in the UK 👍🏽
    What would also be good to add would be the amount of help online for problems and modifications that's available. I quickly realised it was much cheaper and a much more in depth learning experience doing all the work myself - This car was the first I did more than fill up the washer fluid 🤣

    Cracking video! I've considered making a similar video on my car but I think the numbers would depress me! I haven't launched my car for years but a gearbox map would still be worthwhile for power delivery etc, I recently had my map tweaked by MRC and it's transformed the car!

    It was a toss up between a 3year old RS3 or a new Black edition S3. I spoke to a friend of mine at an Audi dealer who did some price comparisons on running costs and the results were quite frightening. In the end I chose the S3. looking back now, that was 3years ago, and the very little mileage I do, I wish I had chosen the RS3. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. But never say never .
    Excellent videos buy the way. Keep them coming

      I can understand the dilemma, I have an s3 and rs3. The s3 costs peanuts to run compared to the rs3. Brakes for example, s3 are less much less than half the cost. Tyres if the s3 runs on 18in wheels, Costco do Michelin ps4 for £320 full set. Rs3 tyres are roughly £200 to £250 a corner.

    I own a 8p rs3 for ten years now. The major cost is the front brake. A single set of pad will end your set of disc at the same time. And they will only last 20000km or so, and it was driven really soft or even considered slow. My ABS sensors just keep dying one by one and they never last over 3 to 4 years. You end up with abs sensors issues pretty much every year. And the problem is that when you have ABS sensor issues, it is not just loosing ABS. You have ESP lights, steering system lights, gear change issues, accelerate in juddering manners... etc. You completely lose any confidence just to drive it from point A to point B, not even talk about spirited driving. Anyway, good car overall. It is just some parts needs better quality.

    This is my first time here. Checking you out having fun in your RS3. I must admit it is awesome and refreshing to see you here. I mean you are a really a “Car Chick”. Really cool to see a woman enjoying this car. Seeing how you react to the car when the Pops and Bangs hit. Like you said about 13:11. That is disgusting and ridiculous. I rented a 2024 RS3 on the TURO app. I returned it today. It was lots of fun. Now that is coming from a Porsche 911 Turbo S owner. I still enjoyed the RS3. Maybe 20-25 Launches in that car over the past week. So much fun. That 2.5 liter, 5 cylinder is the Bees Knees. If you don’t mind my asking, how much wheel horsepower and torque did your RS3 make on the dyno? Have you had any problems with the car since you performed those mods? Thanks.

    When you mention how it eats up the tarmac, I had the old first generation a3 1.8t quattro, 180bhp, basically an s3 but without the flared arches, and under the hood it had the ko3s turbo instead of the ko4, few other tiny differences but 1 remap and power is the same as the s3 and you're good to go. Anyway my point was that it was the quattro and when it snowed I went to work and all these 30k, 40k, upto like a 100k Mercedes, bmws all the big boy cars stuck going up hills and couldn't go anywhere, and my little 2k second hand audi didn't miss a beat. Didn't even have snow tyres, infact I had 19" rims with the cheapest tyres you could buy, but the thing never had a single issue on ice, snow or dirt. You really can't beat the quattro system. Well not when you think of the price, yeah a range rover or something 4x4 would do the same but your paying way way more money. Although mpg was terrible, like 20mpg on average, maybe you could get a tiny bit over 25mpg on a motorway journey.

    When you say it doesn't look aggressive enough, I agree but I don't think audis should look over the top aggressive. They are a upper class beast, meaning I think they should look a bit understated so they can blend in with the posh mercs and bmws. Not look like a boy racer car. You can but plenty of aftermarket parts to make them look as aggressive as you like but I like that they are a bit of a sleeper compared to other brands.

    Hi G6GXM, did you only get the Scorpion Downpipe intalled, then get a stage one? OR did you upgrade any other internals for a stage 1?

    • @seriousdubwise
      @seriousdubwise 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, you see when you say you put it in comfort and it sounds like an a3, say if you started the car on a cold start in the morning and you were in comfort, is it still loud or is not too loud? As I don't want to piss of neighbours with a cold start

    • @G6GXM
      @G6GXM  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All that RS3 had was a Scorpion sports cat downpipe & a stage one ECU tune which included coding out the GPF/OPF. Cold start in the morning wasn’t much louder than stock. With the valves shut you’ll be fine

      20.2 is half decent 🤣 had mine down at like 12/13mpg, and never seen 350 miles on fuel range.

    This is the first I’ve heard of the rear diff issues, is there a particular year that this is an issue or is it all 17 onwards facelifts, definitely slightly concerning .

    • @G6GXM
      @G6GXM  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure if it’s the same on the pre-facelifts but pretty common on all facelifts

      @@G6GXM definitely makes me think twice about launching , but I suppose there’s no point worrying , can only keep on top of maintenance and hope for the best, great video btw, amazing car.

      PFL's are known to suffer badly. I have a 16 plate PFL with 42k on the clock (bought it on 35,500) luckily so far so good. But I don't drive it like a maniac and have never launched it and don't intend to. Saying that it has a good few previous owners (drug dealers, serial killers.. Who knows) and if it's survived them, I'm sure it'll be ok.

    Great informative video, I was considering an RS3 or M3 but I can safely say I will hold off on that listening to these expenses 🤣
    I imagine an F80 M3 will be similar maintenance to an RS3...
    Your RS3 looks great, very tasteful mods 👍

      I don't know. Not the cheapest to run but it helps to be savvy.
      Filters and oil - eBay and marketplace. Oem parts available fraction of the price. Oil is cheap as chips from tps. Think 25 quid for 5L from TPS. Independent mechanics will charge a fraction compared to main dealer's.
      Front brakes. FL genuine OEM discs about 450 off ebay brand new and pads (brembo) about 150ish. Rear pads and discs you can buy as complete sets for about 200 - 250. Independent mechanics again.
      The only thing I got done was gearbox and haldex from Audi, in total think it came to 230. Again. Not the cheapest but not bad at all. Some people are anal about a full service history which I get but means you're paying an absolute fortune for a stamp. No thanks, I'd rather keep the receipts and video the work being done as proof for a potential buyer!

    Saying you’re concerned about blowing the rear diff or the transfer box after tuning the car is a bit like saying you were surprised that a sumo wrestler broke your Easter egg when they sat on it !! You’ve tuned the engine beyond the manufacturers standard design limit and the weakest link after the engine is the transmission.
    For instance I wasn’t surprised when I cooked the standard brakes on my golf because they’re made of cheese !!

    You should try barefoot driving if you haven’t already, a lot of racing drivers do it because they say it gives you far better feel 👍🏻
