I'd have one in a heartbeat, but it does seem to lack a lot of quality for the massive price tag.
Very capable, very fast, very good handling, but it just lacks soul.

Got mine 6 weeks ago and drove 2000 kms with it. Agree with all the negative points especially the interior plastics and the noise you get in the doors when playing the music a bit too loud. Other than that, great ride.
I drive a7 the prestige package and I also have rattling in my doors so I'm thinking it's just an Audi thing it absolutely drives me nuts sometimes I constantly am asking other people if they hear it. 🙃

Crazy to hear this. I’ve always dreamt of having an S3. Managed to purchase a new one 2022 plate. Obviously it’s fast enough. But…
The creaks from around the cabin is horrendous. I had a 2018 a3 before this and it was solid, never made a noise.
Also the Bang and olufson sound system was something I regretted not specking on the A3. So when I went for the S3 it was must.
Stepped out of the A3 with the audi sound system into the S3 with B&O, turned it up, door cars rattle, to the point you have to turn it down. Absolutely crazy how Audi have let this poor quality sneak in. I paid 40k for thr s3, and it rattles around like an old corsa. Once you have done a few launch controls and played around with the led lights, you realise Audi have cut too many corners with these runs. 👎
You getting a lot of creaks and rattles in your new S3? Where are they coming from out of interest? I was tempted by the new S3 but the build quality talk is putting me off. Would you say it is still a good car?
@@slen6293 it’s a lovely Car don’t get me wrong. It’s impressive and looks the part. The look of the interior is leaps above the last model. Specially the ambient light package. Although the noise of the engine is pumped in through the speakers it is done clever and sounds good.
It’s just the overall quality of the build. More scratchy plastic in this then the last model. And they just creak over bumps and rough roads etc.. obviously the music being loud drops you hearing this. However, even the B&O system I have can’t be turned up to loud as it vibrates the door cars and make them rattle. It’s obviously all because the quality is lower. It’s a shame really. But if I could go back, would I buy it again? Of course I would it’s a lot of fun.
If it makes you feel better, my 2017 FL S3 had door card rattles from the B&O system as well. The little thin chrome trims are the culprit. I disassembled the door card and tightened all the screws and it fixed it. Must have been a Friday job.

@@adammorley6571 First off s3 8v had the soundaktor as well as the 8y. Both can be easily turned off using OBD 11 and the sound of it makes a rattle eventually so it's a must have to turn it off. I've sat in 8v and 8y the 8v steering wheel is not as nice as the 8y and if you get the 1000 seat option for the 8y its muchhhh better than the seats in the 8v. Sure there is plastic but the cabin is well insulated and I think people just nit pick and complain about wayyyyy too much when it comes to cars they tend to be VERYYY biased. I love that people who probably haven't even been in both cars like to make comparisons and hate on the later.

I still got the 2016 rs3 with pano roof, its a blast, every day its a damn blast to drive.
Maybe Audi will fix these known issues in the later iterations of the 8Y RS3. I had a 2020 RS3 8V (USA) and the rattle would come from the sunroof; to remedy it you had to fully open the sunroof to adjust and tighten the two torx screw on the hinges but even then it would still rattle a little. I permanently fixed it by buying a brace and replacing the cheap flimsy factory brace underneath the car.
Fantastic review. Warts an all. Was considering a 4 door one of these but have decided on the Alfa Giulia instead.

Interesting comment about the stereo. I had the upgraded B&O in my RS7, and although I wouldn’t say it was a bad stereo, I definitely felt underwhelmed by it compared to other premium car sound systems.
Which other premium car sound systems are that much better ??? I had B & O, and it is one of the best I heard so far...
@@Spacemarine23 I have the Meridian Signature 1700w in my Range Rover Sport SVR and it’s a huge step up, although in fairness it’s also a huge step up in terms of cost as well compared with the comfort and sound pack as spec’d on the RS7. I also preferred the Bose system in the Nissan GTR to the B&O. I think the biggest issue I had with the B&O was specifically that the bass just doesn’t quite have enough woomph, even when cranked up to full. As I said before though it’s still a decent enough system, there are just others I’ve had which I think are better. Horses for courses, though!

Good video. You should compare with a Nissan Leaf: with the e-pedal and eco modes turned OFF it goes like a rocket and its only half the price of the RS3. Enjoy your ride, matey!
Not just the top end Audis. My wife has a 2019 150bhp A1 S-line and the suspension is ridiculously hard. It wasn't possible to get a more compliant set up with the S-line and the dashboard noises are a real pita. It's only got 15k on it and it still rattles like an old Mini. Main dealer didn't want to know even under warranty - too much time involved to find the problems.

Seats in red or green are options, alcantara steeting wheel is an option as well if you leave the full assistance package out

I run a rs4 avant 2014 ex demo delimited from factory all black ,it’s pushing out 500hp with 99 octain , it’s shoes are 20inh OZ comp wheels with Yokohama’s soft compound, she has seen 190 plus, it’s still only 30.000 miles it’s a beast lots of fun and upsets quite a few very fast cars lots of grins on my old chops 🤪👍

Not sure the Saloon is better looking ha ha - they both look nice! Good looking at this one though as I have a Carbon Black on order in the same colour (to arrive probably late 2035!) - didnt go for the comfort and sound pack - kind of glad now if turning up load creates rattling in the door cards - that would p**s me off like you say considering the cost! Cant wait to get it - hey at least your stop gap car was an RS3 8Y - mine after selling my BM to afford this RS3 has been a 57 plate mini cooper! :) Good car.... in its day!

I like the new RS3. The interior does look shit compared to the previous model.
I personally don't believe the red / green or a rainbow 'any colour' interior would make it feel any better if the build is cheap! As adding colour doesn't change the build quality.
Its like they know, since its the last 5 cylinder combustion engine, people will go ahead & buy a shit built interior car for just the pleasure of driving it, not at 60k, fuck that.

Car vertical is crap,, I've got a car been registered as a taxi for the last 5 years ,registered with South lanarkshire Council (Hackney taxi licence) its a skoda and its been a taxi since it was brand new ,done a car vertical check and it came back as never been a taxi ,,, so car vertical not so good can we really trust car vertical about the rest of there checks they do ,, I've written away to them still waiting for an answer after 4 months .
The front arches look great and are there for a purpose, not the colour for me though.
Finally somebody else notices cars big and posh front brakes and small and cheap rear brakes.

Give us a smooth 2 pot rear calipers with a slightly bigger disc and adjust the brake biased to suite.
Hey presto, we get a better looking and proportioned car and the manufacturer can charge us more for our vanity.
Because the rear brakes do so little work as compared to the fronts, it's an ideal place to cut costs

I’ve done 1k in my Vorsprung saloon, RS3 in (tango red) I have to say, it’s an awesome car! But I do agree, the interior is not, Audi quality and not what you expect for 62k car.
Sound system, yes my door cards rattle too when you’re pumping out the tunes.. what did impress me was the Bridgestone potenza tyres. I’ve always been on a Michelin PS4, ran them on my previous rs3, But I am impressed with the Bridgestones.
Brakes I don’t agree with, they work well round, you guys must have a heavy left foot ;) or you’re not pressing the right foot hard enough..
The class act for me with the new car, is the chassis! HUGE improvement from the old previous model.. the new car drives with a hint of oversteer when you’re on the door handles.. who ever thought an Audi Rs3 driver would say you get oversteer!
Oh and not to mention, it’s seriously fast. 🤟🏻💨

So I’m almost certain they are 13mm front and 11mm rear forge spacers… my dad gave them to me off his A3 and I just put them on without looking 😬 I’m sure that’s right though 👆🏼👍🏼
