I’m stumped at what Pivot is right for me. I live against South Mountain where I consistently see you guys riding. I’m stumped between going Mach 429 trail or Mach 5.5. Any pointers or drawbacks? I ride Desert Classic and would like to start connecting into National/Mormon loop.
this is a trail bike, it sounds like 5010 with bit more travel. so what pivot is closer to the Santa Cruz Bronson? im stuck between pivot and Santa Cruz
If you want 27. 5" wheels and longer travel, try the Mach 6 Carbon or Mach 6 Aluminum (155mm travel) or the Firebird (170mm). Both climb very well, but the Mach 6 models are a bit more on the trail bike side, the Firebird is a bit more on the big-bike side of things. Both handle big hits and technical terrain with aplomb. www.pivotcycles.com/bike/Firebird www.pivotcycles.com/bike/Mach-6-Carbon
The Mach 5 is hot. But It feels like nobody likes the Mach 6 based on what is hot this year---bikes and frames are at steep discounts. What's up with that? Have people backed off on the longer travel bikes for all mountain enduro? I love my Mach 6--and to get that much travel in the weight is incredible progress to me.
Come on Pivot! Are you kidding? That is South Mountain in Phoenix--Chris (is this you?) even says in the comments. Looks like National mostly. Phoenix is a low altitude cactus-laden desert. Flagstaff is higher altitude coniferous forest.
congrats. looks like a winner
Seems to hit the sweet spot for the more rugged trails. The wheelie over the rattler was a nice touch. :)
Ha ha. We totally planned that. :-)
I would have loved to have been able to demo one, but I just couldn't wait, and just bit the bullet and ordered mine today.

What trail was this on?
This was filmed on a few different trails in the Flagstaff, Arizona area. Flag is one of the best kept secrets in mountain biking. :-)
