    I could pick this apart, but overall the vibe is so cozy ❤. And it's adorable that the couple wore matching outfits for the reveal 😂

    Bricks are strong to begin with, but once they’re painted, you’ve lessened the quality of your structure and added an extra layer of unnecessary upkeep and maintenance.
    Painting over brick is essentially a death sentence for brick because you’re stripping it of its natural ability to breathe and release any moisture that becomes trapped. Because of this, any moisture trapped inside the wall will begin to erode the brick, wearing it down over time. Brick, in its original state, is a porous element designed to absorb moisture while also being exceptionally good at releasing or drying out any moisture. This “breathability” is accomplished through the cracks and small openings within the brick. Once brick is painted, it loses its ability to release moisture and dry out because all those tiny cracks and openings have been painted over and sealed up. In colder climates, the level of deterioration is much higher due to the trapped moisture under the painted brick.

    Nice job. I love that bedroom wallpaper. I would have put a wire rail system on the back deck instead of glass, or whatever that is. They could keep the views without having to have to clean all that glass. And never ever paint brick. Never. Just don't.

      It seems to me from the “before” picture that there may be concern for a small dog falling through from the top deck. They had added plastic trellis material along the bottom of it, so looks like they were trying to protect something there.

    Jenny, I found Dave's twin. Check out Asher House. The guy rescues animals in Oregon I think. He sounds and looks so much like Dave. Hope you follow up ... 🤞

    It is beautiful and looks very light…here comes a but: But once the wood on the ceilings and in the kitchen gets darker in time you get this 70´s vibe of living in a kind of dark, coffin-like space.

    I thought painting brick was problematic. Brick needs to breathe and painting it will cause it to deteriorate over time.

    • @harrisond8132
      @harrisond8132 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It is. Drives me nuts. You are right about it needing to breath, especially the mortar. Plus it adds a whole new layer of maintenance.

    All that work and you could not flank both sides of the fireplace with an equal amount of stone?

    Transformation requires adjustments, changes and acceptance that some parts of us should be removed so it will be replaced with more beautiful features like this home. 😌❤
